so, I watched a bunch of your videos. then i went you your channel and saw that your hometown was Stuarts Draft. I realized what a small world it is, I'm originally from Stuarts Draft and live in Mint Springs now
@liljami95 yes sir I am from Stuarts Draft , grew up where the Ace hardware store is, they tore the home place down to build the store, Now live in New Market , Va. its a small world
Charles, excellent video - I'll be adding you to my favorites and watching for your other videos. It is nice to see someone anticipating that not all of us have professional woodworking shops full of equipment. 9 out of 10 videos (or closer to 87%) I watch assume that, love your statistics comment btw, hehehe
What product are you referring to when you want to prevent moisture from wicking up the bottom of the legs? You mention "epoxy", but I am not sure if you mean two part adhesive or some other product. Thanks for the great videos.
Really enjoyed watching your video, nice to see start to finish and not a 5min video. whats your view on water based products, I prefer oil/spirit based, seems a better finish to me. Need more videos like this. Thanks
@eagle55566 my view on water base finish is its the future, like it or not, we have been and are heavly involved in not only using it but also teaching it, the bench is done is a exterior water base finish .. water base just makes sense, not only from the "green" point of view , but they are also some of the most durable finishes we have ever seen..
Another great vid by Charles. Ive bought his DVD's and router bit, and he and his wife are great to deal with. Check out his web site and news letter.
hey charles secure that bandsaw. And for god sakes equalize the volume on your vids. Just kidding with you man. love your vids. ive learned so much from ya.
I really appreciate the idea and the effort to do a simple project with useful value, tackled with simple and providing alternative tools. Well done Neil. Only masters can go to both ends, teaching experts and helping beginners.
Thank you, I have been building for a number of year. Your project is basic but I still learned a couple of things about getting the stain effect on pine. Thanks.

Charles, you said that you have a wood there that is goods for the outside and I dont know if i got the name right but i belive you said "IPE" (?)
If i'm right, is it a very hard wood? is it a native wood? Because here in Brazil we have a wood called Ipe and it is great for outside use. Thanks.
exortus 1 year ago
@exortus no IPE is not native to the USA, its the same wood you have there, nice stuff and extremely durable,
