I would so love to see this docu. Seriously, terms like "most underrated band ever" gets thrown about a lot, but these guys were pretty damn original and magic. Acre Thrills is probably the best album I've ever heard.
@spinozareagan why? oh that's right... the scarf bothered you. WHO FUCKING CARES ABOUT A SCARF. you probably suck twice as much in person as you do on the internet.
saw them maybe 15-20 times in the 90's. Best live band I've ever seen (except maybe Tortoise). Al was the best frontman any band could ever wish to have.
What happened? Why aren't you guys done with this documentry? Did you run out of cocaine? Great job so far. Well I've seen a lot of US Maple shows. What happened? Did they break up in 2003? Or did the band just crawl somewhere and die? What the fuck are they doing now? Is anyone in a band? Al? Mark? Todd? Adam? Pat? Best wishes to all.
I saw them on my birthday on the Purple on Time tour - they were talking about moving to Nashville. Then Al was rumored to have moved to Iowa. Todd, Adam and Adam's brother Ben joined Rob Lowe (of 90 Day Men, not the actor)to form Singer. To me, they sound like Bowie fronting US Maple playing Radiohead songs. They're really good, but I miss Al a LOT. He is a true original.
Mark and Pat are in a band called Miracle Condition. They're awesome and you should check out their myspace page. It's quite different from U.S. Maple stuff, but not at all in a bad way.
I cannot wait for this to come out. US Maple is an amazing band. I first discovered them when they opened up for Jon Spencer and I was hooked ever since.
They set out to be different - and succeeded remarkably well at that - but they were so much more than just different, weren't they? They were fucking smart, that helps too.

Shippy is in Miracle Condition, and Todd has another new band called D Rider. I agree though, I'd love to see this finished.
