Even if you record a hand signal, you'd still have to somehow get that information to the offensive/defensive coordinator and hope that the quarterback or defensive captain doesn't audible. Even if you record a hand signal, you'd still have to somehow get that information to the offensive/defensive coordinator and hope that the quarterback or defensive captain doesn't audible. Not to mention you have to do all of this within seconds of the play being called. The notion that this gave the Pats any real advantage is hilarious to me.
The Patriots went 17-0 AFTER "Spygate" didn't they? This year they are 5-1 with the Steelers and Jets. Pretty good.

@zachweber when a play is done the offense goes to the huddle and waits for the QB to get the call for the next play . plus the offensive usually runs the whole play clock down to the very last seconds to kill time . which is alot of time to inform the def. of the hand signal which is done before the huddle . not saying they cheated tho , but if peyton manning can read a def in 15 secs or so , i think a cheating coordinator can read a offence in 30 . just sayin tho . dont take it up the ass

It's not like it even mattered. All coaches are allowed to view a special camera that overlooks the field. You can legally just write down the hand signals and look at defensive formations from the pictures that overlook the entire field for every single play, and you have the same result as videotaping like the patriots did. It was wrong because it was against the rules but it didn't really matter.

@Sunny11695 you ugys have never had an unbeaten team you lost the super bowl remember? Its all good though after you made it throguh the season unbeaten i pulled for you through the playoffs then picked you to loose in the super bowl by 3 and you did and I made bank! my team is still the only perfect team in nfl history and thats all that matters! @heydudedolfan13 oh im sorry i was under the impression that the patriots went 16-0 in the regular season. Yeah the dolphins are soo much better considering the played less games and played in a time of a weaker league...

@Sunny11695 But your right, I don't have a lot proof, but I have more then you. All you have is Bill's word that he didn't cheat more, which doesn't mean dick from a cheater, even if it was only proven a handful of times. The fact that the Commissioner has done little to nothing even after being handed more proof should tell you that cheating isn't taken all that seriously in the NFL, at least not if you win a couple SBs in the process. Why would he stop? No one in the NFL really seems to care.
