  • Easy was always asking for a book of matches to light up a joint, or a book of stamps to lick for his LSD...

  • The Amy Winehouse song "Rehab" totally ripped off the Easy Reader song! LOL

  • Wow! The Easy incarnation here is a seriously desperate word junkie. That poor man got it bad. And Lee is only _playing_ stoned, right? I mean, she's playing a really good stoned, but she's so obvious they wouldn't really film her if ,.oh man, what does it matter, they aired this straight to the PBS-watching little kids of America, didn't they? Nowadays, writers wouldn't even dream of putting 'book of matches' in a kids' show script. Honest, sweet, and noble. '71 was a beautiful time.

  • Stanley the word board was mostly in the first Electric Company season in 1971.

  • Lee seems like she just smoked a joint right before she did this. I wonder if it was like with Barry Willims on the "Brady Bunch" where she thought she didn't have to work but got called in right after she stuck her face into a bong.

  • You SO read my mind. I thought she sounded a little high or drunk myself..

  • Think TEC producers were inspired by picture-picture from Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood?

Remember in the early years Rogers use to speak to it and would sometimes respond to him?

  • That was so wrong of Stanley to "cop" out on Easy Reader like that..LOL

  • "Stop the cop, pop"?! ""I'm sitting on top of a cop"?!

Just what kind of subversive things were they teaching us?

  • It beats the heck out of "[Bleep] the Police" at least...:-)
