i think legal would be very very rarely used and I think laurel implies that pretty well in the video. i've used it once in 8 years of blogging and it worked, really well. definitely online code of conduct is great idea, agree with that.
Laurel I disagree. Ignore the comments? Confronting negative comments with a legal response? Deflect and ignore? Use humor? These are not ways of preventing nor moderating negative online comments. All you have to do is look at some youtube videos and the type of comments some get. Ignoring won't change anything. Using legal response is ridiculous, with what charge exactly? The best way to fight negative comments is to set an online code of conduct and enforce it.

i think this is very good, the key is picking the right method for the situation and new bloggers/tweeps could get that wrong early on.
