Sharks close their eyes when they bite something, to protect their eyes. This one became disoriented with his eyes closes and went into the cage, which was by accident. Having his head stuck in the cage made him more disoriented, until he was able to break free. I seriously doubt that the shark was trying to break into the cage.

Too bad for the shark. Irresponsible and cheap equipment. I only cage dive if I know the man or woman who built the cages themselves by hand and this accident could have been avoided to save the shark from much undue stress, which by the way effects the chemicals in the blood of the shark and can cause death. Also, that dive boat looks way too crowded. Disappointing.
