  • This stuff is required listening for any blues player. Timing... phrasing... he can't be ignored...

  • what a genius

  • I noticed playing over the right shoulder allows you to play behind your back/head a lot easier. Not sure if this is related at all.

  • Respect dat.....

  • I saw BB King Twice , but have to admit I like Freddy's aggressive style better and besides he had GO-GO Dancers ... Did Clapton have Go Go Dancers, NO. Did the Pope have Go - Go dancers , NO .

  • butt rockin blues.. and legendary at that.. HOTSTUFF!

  • Someone send me back to the 60's!!!!

  • the texas cannonball tearin' up the funk! cool shit.thx dreebo

  • his presence of playing was so light hearted,,makes you smile. I truly love his act

  • well albert collins wore his strap over one shoulder., but not many others. freddie kings collaboration with leon russell is one of the finest albums ever made. freddy would smoke filterless kools cigarettes and drink johnny walker red on stage and never bat an eye. he went way too soon.

  • A couple of the best of the best go-go dancers I've seen on video. Great music made here.

  • Yes...but without B.B.King there would have been no Freddy King. And so it goes. Would we have had B.B. without T-Bone Walker and Django reinhardt?

  • yeah shake that booty yeaah!

  • tomthefunky's idea rules. But it does not rule half as much as Freddie King of funky blues version of Papa's Got a Brand New Bag.

  • i would agree that the law should be passed and i would like some to wake me int morning, the shindiig dancers would do just fine, ps Freddy is great

  • King of kings

  • Very nice :)

  • Gotta love Freddie's groove man. He not only plays great but he's a great entertainer too!

  • Clarence Gatemouth Brown, esta atrás de freddie? con la guitarra tipo jaguar blanca??

  • Just nasty good. Freddie was always amazing. What a talent.

  • sacrilegious, but the real 3 Kings didn't go to see Jesus Christ, they went to the Crossroads, and the blues filled the world w/ a holy spirit of it's own: B.B. King, Freddie King and Albert King

  • freddy king es mejor guitarrista de blues

  • it is technically impossible to sit still listening to Freddie playing.....love it.

  • Comment removed

  • let me tell ya, pokers his thing

  • fonk!

  • That phrasing is insane. A ton more practice for me!!

  • awesome tone..any ideas about his amps?

  • Everything about Freddie is unique, guitar strap over his right shoulder, picking with thumb, distortion, Freddie had the whole package. Without Freddie there would be no Clapton, Freddie has influenced, no, make that, taught them all, but he is still and always will be the originator. I was lucky to have met him and played on a show with him & Grand Funk Railroad.

  • cool, congratulations

  • @rskurow Yes, Freddie was unique indeed! Got to see him play once in '74 and visit with him afterwards. Not another one like him.

  • @rskurow I think he may also have had a say in Bruno Mars' hair-cut... though we'll let that one slide......

  • @rskurow albert collins puts the strap over his right sholder as well

  • @TheThepurplebird Maybe it was a Texas thing.

  • Holy shit this is awesome! Go 'head Freddie u bad Mutha u!

  • I'm trying to get legislation passed making it a law that requires 1960's go-go dancers in mini-skirts to be placed on every street corner, supermarket, railroad station, office complex, apartment building, shopping mall, intersection, bakery, toll booth, police station, post office, diner, hardware store ,and my apartment.

  • hope you succeed !!

  • @tomthefunky funniest and most accurate comment i've ever read on youtube...bravo

  • @tomthefunky haha

  • @tomthefunky tomthefunky for PRESIDENT!!!!!

  • Can you imagine the kind of jobs that would supply. Economic recovery via go go dancers!

  • @tomthefunky maybe the best comment I have seen all year on youtube. i concur with that suggestion.

  • @tomthefunky

    I'll campaign for you.

They also must wear knee length boots.

  • @tomthefunky HAR!

  • @tomthefunky Oh hell yes!!!!! Count my vote please!!

  • Neerrrrrdddsssss - Homer Simpson

  • that's a bit judgemental. everyone has right to swap enthusiastic feedback. you sound a bit jaded! see that button "text options" turn it off if you don't like it. don't be like the censors, if you don't like it don't watch it.

  • what a beast of a cover!

  • the backup dancers crack me up---they dance like bad cheerleaders!

  • yeah, check out "she put a whammy on me" ...same only less dance more spas.

  • wow..what a master..can you imagine eric clapton as a young boy listening to this man like alot of kids listen to john mayer or whoever. freddy was amazing wish i were old enough to of seen him before he passed away...listen to that dirty rich tone from that ES-345

  • I thank the ES 345 was made just for him

Gibson should make one in his honor Chuck Berry too

  • didn't see gatemouth.

  • gate is right behind freddie, red(ish) jacket, white guitar

  • Great video. Electric blues guitar 101 for anyone to learn from one of the best. ON BASS IS BILLY COX WHO PLAYED WITH JIMI HENDRIX.

  • how tall was Mr. King/?

  • bout 6ft 5'' so hear!...he, BB and Buddy.... aint no one better

  • Oh, I would slip Albert King and Albert Collins into that short list. Albert had few licks than any of them, but they was the baddest few!

  • the best there was,the best there is ,the best there ever will be...James Brown..R.I.P.

  • The GREAT Freddie King with the LEGENDARY Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown on rhythm guitar.

    yes...yes...yes

  • I also love the goofy dancer. Compare her to The James Brown dancer.

  • Compare her to some of the muppets :D

  • Great classic Freddie King blues take on a JB classic.

  • it's a damn shame Freddie's isn't inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame

  • coolest guitarist of all time?

  • koolest hair of any guitarslinger in history

  • R.I.P. James Brown and Freddie King

  • Freddie is so damn cool..

  • what a great jam, thanks for uploading this man!

  • yes that's nice
