Grew up in Akron, live in Chicago. Hester isn't in Cribbs' league. If Hester doesn't score, the Bears start on the 22. Cribbs has so many returns where he barrels through defenders for 35, 40, or 50 yards - in addition to being the career leader in kick returns. Hester and Cribbs both got some wheels on them. Hester is a little faster but you don't see any chase downs on either one of them. Cribbs can bust a tackle, Hester not so much. After watching last night's game against Green Bay I stand by what I said. Look what happened when Hester got some chances to return the ball; a 28 yard return and a 62 yard return for TD. If the Bears are smart and put him in as returner more often expect his number to increase DRAMATICALLY.
And everybody thats saying Cribbs is better than Hester now, its because Chicago is trying to turn him into a #1 receiver instead of a Special teams specialist. No, Hester has INSANE cuts and jukes, Cribbs has INSANE ability to get out of tackles once contact's initiated. They play two different ways. Hester also is an ok receiver, Cribbs has never had better stats in ANY of his season in the NFL for receiving than any ofHester's seasons. Only in 06 when he didn't even play wide out did Cribbs have better totals. Also, Hester has the most total TD returns in his career. In total, Hester's a better player.

Cribb's is great, but seriously this isn't even a comparable comparison. If you break down the numbers, Cribb's scores one TD for every 39 kickoffs he returns and one TD for every 66 punts he returns. Hester scores one TD for ever 30 kickoffs he returns and one TD for every 16 punts he returns. The difference is Cribb's has far more KR attempts than Hester (312 to 121).

After watching last night's game against Green Bay I stand by what I said. Look what happened when Hester got some chances to return the ball; a 28 yard return and a 62 yard return for TD. If the Bears are smart and put him in as returner more often expect his number to increase DRAMATICALLY.

Hester hardly had a chance in 08-09 to return kicks since Chicago tried to meld him into the offense. If he had as many chances as Cribbs to return kick in 08-09 he'd have 2-3 more returns easily.

You will see the Bears starting on their own 22, their own 23, because Hester tries a 30-yard cross-field cutback. Josh runs through people and starts his offense around the 40 on a consistent basis.
