  • The older the music the better the voices and style. Reckon why that is?

Thank you so much for putting this exquisite music out so the rest of us can hear it.

  • One of the leads is Rebert H. Harris.

  • gollincho, do you know who is on lead, this is great thanks for posting!!!

  • @holmes1156 One of the leads, of course, is Rebert H. Harris. The other lead is Mozell Franklin. This song was recorded in 1939. The rest of the group was S.R. Crain on 1st Tenor, A.L. Johnson on Baritone, and Jesse J. Farley on Bass.

  • I examined the contents of this record in a discography ,Dixon and Goodrich and Howard Rye 's Blues and Gospel Records 1890-1943

  • Can you tell me where these Soul Stirrers went onto record with or as ?

    Thanks for posting

  • @RareMusicDirect The group went on to record for the Alladin Label. The lineup at that time was R.H. Harris and James Medlock on Lead Vocals, S.R. Crain on 1st tenor, R.B. Robinson and T.L. Bruster on Baritone, and J.J. Farley on Bass. In 1950, Paul Foster replaced Medlock as 2nd Lead. The group then signed with Specialty Records. Later that same year, Sam Cook(e) replaced R.H. Harris as Lead. Cook was later replaced by Johhnie Taylor. The group signed with Cooke's SAR Records in 1960.
