I was born and raised in Denver.. and have been a victim of police bullying and arrested and charged for things they couldn't get convictions for since I was about 14 years old. I have arrests on my record just because my Dad dated a cop's girlfriend. In Denver, this is nothing new
@cryinrainemo You are right, because calling them pigs and telling them to fuck off and that they were cowards, or just antagonizing them and pissing them off in general is going to be helpful in being allowed to record as much as possible and being able to get it out in the open for the world to see. You obviously didn't listen very hard because I found it quite thrilling to be there, to see, from the inside, what was happening. I relished the good fortune to be in the middle of it all.
^.^ Cheesy I know... I felt like a kid in a candy store... pretty over excited about the whole experience in hindsight. But quite an experience just the same. More meaningful than a superbowl riot or some such nonsense.
There's more police then protestors. Welcome to the modern world of the police state. They're going to do this and attempt to intimidate until you no longer want to show up to protest. In the meantime, they pass laws like HR 1955 so that you will be branded a "homegrown terrorist" should you want to go out on the street and do this again in the future. Much like their tactics in this video, they're simply tightening the noose of fascism until u will be unable to think or speak anymore.
First, I am not a reporter. I was merely going from moment to moment. Second, they were doing an amazing job compared to other scanes in other cities. There was no major media there. Nothing was stopping them from beating the shit out of everyone and taking their devices... NOTHING. Thirdly, though their commands may not make much sense (they rarely do) they eventually sorted everything out. it was chaotic. I got out with my camera and didn't get directly maced or beat. In my book that's a win.
Glad you noticed that. Though personally I think "cowing" is a bit harsh. I wanted to be allowed to stay for as long as possible without getting pepper sprayed, beat, or arrested. I call that self-preservation. It worked. It was not my fight or protest. I was there to observe.
its crazy that they want them to leave but they are blockading them in. So when they try to leave "they assault an officer" then chaose breaks out. The cops are doing this shit on purpose. Its not fair to us.
the cameraman is annoying... has he never seen a protest before? "this is amazing!" pffft, this is bullshit. Boring as fuck. Someone needs to chuck a bottle or something. So much for "recreate '68"
Yeah so who do you think is going to win? The police. They have the batons, they have gas and whatever else they have; probably guns too. The people are unarmed. They only have their voice as a weapon. That is their right. I see it very wrong. That police state has to stop. The ones that came out looking like bullies were the men in uniform. The ones that look like robots.
Just remember...who were the agressors first. These people will eventually revolt. There's only so much pushing one can take. The revolt will begin soon.
I disagree with anarchists and I hate hippies but the dpd is way out of line. If they break the law take em' to jail but dont peper ball and mace protesters who arent attacking you. Thats just fucked up.
doesnt this make the situation worse? trapping already agitated people would only stir them up more, making them more likely to start something with the police.
thanks... and u checked out pt. 50, was the beginning... i was running up on it when they tossed the road closed sign to the side... interesting seeing another perspective... wrong place right time it seems.
it's uploaded, just waiting for them to process it... you will see in the third part that (unknown to me) major news media was not on the scene for the majority of this video, that was why i was impressed with the rstraint (overall) that the denver police department showed.

Wait... You support what they did to you? That's what Mussolini did. That's what Hitler did. Come on, dude.
You might say "Don't compare our country to nazis!" but they did the EXACT same things. What makes it ok for us to do it and not them?

Yes, the author of this video sounded like he was cowing to the police, clearly yelling out several passages to show 'he is not a threat'.
