They're the most valuable team in the NHL for 4 consecutive years, the team is worth $470 million. I don't think so. I think the habs will be worse. Their goaltending isn't getting any better, their defense got weaker. Spacek and Gill both won't do half the work Komisarek did.
Koivu, Tanguay, and Kovalev are all gone, to be replaced by bigger contracts and less production(cammaleri exempt).
Gomez who has a 7mil contract hit, isn't worth it for 60 points a year, Cammaleri had a breakout season he could be great, and Gionta I believe only score 40 points.
The habs lost more than they gained, as far as players who knew eachother(Granted gomez+gionta may rehash their earlier connection and do extremely well).
But they are little guys 5'9 5'7 5'11 they actually got SMALLER!
Against the Bruins and the definately buffed up defense of the Maple Leafs, these guys could be seeing alot of ice, face down!

Komisarek is now on the Maple Leafs, along with Francois Beauchemin and Garnet Exelby on a new pumped up Leafs defense. If you check out the Leafs Defense, it's scary good.
Gionta may do good, he did fuck all last year in a division I don't think is nearly as tough physical wise.
Gionta, Cammalerri, and Gomez will be seeing alot of Garnet Exelby, Komisarek, Zdeno Chara, Chris Neil, Colton Orr, Milan Lucic, basically alot of guys that DON'T mess about. They just take your head off.
We don't need XLB to be an enforcer, we have Colton Orr/Jamal Mayers. We have that part hemmed up. Oh yeah, Komisarek 2nd in the League in blocked shots, Jeff finger was 5th, and Luke Schenn led the league in blocked shots.
I have a hard time imagining to many shots getting to our goalie this year.
Also, Schenn, Finger, Komisarek and XLB can handle the hitting, we just need beauchemin to play consistently, which he has proven he can do ever since coming from Colombus.

yea but he'll never get one with the habs.. what about those years the habs suck so much, all the fans stopped going to there games, and they were going almost bankrupt?!?!?! Leafs were one of the teams to save the Montreal franchise from leaving town, If they weren't so historic they would not be there today. If you saw how the team was runned in the eighties no wonder why we didn't have a chance. the 90's to 2000-2004.lockout took half the team away and most of our 1st and 2nd lines.

I don't think so. I think the habs will be worse. Their goaltending isn't getting any better, their defense got weaker. Spacek and Gill both won't do half the work Komisarek did.
Koivu, Tanguay, and Kovalev are all gone, to be replaced by bigger contracts and less production(cammaleri exempt).
Gomez who has a 7mil contract hit, isn't worth it for 60 points a year, Cammaleri had a breakout season he could be great, and Gionta I believe only score 40 points.
Plus they're TINY.

The habs lost more than they gained, as far as players who knew eachother(Granted gomez+gionta may rehash their earlier connection and do extremely well).
But they are little guys 5'9 5'7 5'11 they actually got SMALLER!
Against the Bruins and the definately buffed up defense of the Maple Leafs, these guys could be seeing alot of ice, face down!

Well, Price might or night not get better this year, ( I hope he does) but holy shit of the holy ghost, I didn't know that Kovalev and Koivu were gone (I only keep up with the Oilers more often than the Habs) that sucks, I thought they'd never let Koivu or Kovalev leave, I don't really care for Tanguay, but I hope Komisarek goes to a good team, I just know that Gionta and Cams will do good for the Habs, I don't know about the traitor though, he's not that good period

Komisarek is now on the Maple Leafs, along with Francois Beauchemin and Garnet Exelby on a new pumped up Leafs defense. If you check out the Leafs Defense, it's scary good.
Gionta may do good, he did fuck all last year in a division I don't think is nearly as tough physical wise.
Gionta, Cammalerri, and Gomez will be seeing alot of Garnet Exelby, Komisarek, Zdeno Chara, Chris Neil, Colton Orr, Milan Lucic, basically alot of guys that DON'T mess about. They just take your head off.

We don't need XLB to be an enforcer, we have Colton Orr/Jamal Mayers. We have that part hemmed up. Oh yeah, Komisarek 2nd in the League in blocked shots, Jeff finger was 5th, and Luke Schenn led the league in blocked shots.
I have a hard time imagining to many shots getting to our goalie this year.
Also, Schenn, Finger, Komisarek and XLB can handle the hitting, we just need beauchemin to play consistently, which he has proven he can do ever since coming from Colombus.

A team isn't good on how many cups they have, its when they win then cups...most of Montreal's cups and Torontos cups came from where there were very limited teams in the NHL... it wasn't har dto over come 5 teams... liek come on...when u win a cup now-a-days, its alot harder and more meaning full!

After 1967 (expansion year) TOR: 0 cups and MTL: 10 cups.
So if you wanted to say that Montreal and Toronto are equal teams, it's not true if i consider what you're saying.

Yeah basically what I was saying...when you had the original 6 teams, it wasn't to hard to beat 6 teams...but when you win a cup agianst all 30 teams its just a bigger accomplishment. It would be good for toronto or montreal or some canadian team win the cup for once in a long time..
