  • This guy does such a good job with his demos! he's smart, clear, and plays just right for these demos...great job, very helpful

  • stop touching the knobs, turn them or leave them alone ffs.

  • How does this amp compare to the Orange Tiny Terror?

  • @astrophysics123 Worse. This amp sucks. Only here from playlist and saw your comment. Check out the Orange Dual Terror!!!

  • @JgHaverty thanks man

  • @JgHaverty I've heard great clips from this amp for my style of music.

Likewise, the Terror is usually fizzy and not as ballsy or full as a real Orange.

  • @Tordah26 Tone is subjective though, keep that in mind :p. I played one at guitar center a little bit ago, and it was just awful. I do like the level of control on this head vs some other "Small" heads, but the sound doesnt hit me right.

I think the tiny terror is garbage, but the dual terror is quite decent.

  • @JgHaverty Still too boxy for my liking and too expensive for the amount of features it has on it.

  • Comment removed

  • @HearingLossProvider Yep, since they came out with the Tweaker line and use the Celestion G12H30 in it everyone just gets the tweaker cab instead since they are both 1X12's with the same options.

  • This review has way too much complicated information. I have a much more nuts and bolts review on my channel.

  • You kinda need to give Egnaters a drop in the mids and push in treble. Then they really sound HOT HOT HOT.

  • Beautiful!

  • Can we start a fund to buy Paul some new jeans? Geez.

  • i gotta get me one of those

  • you have to be right there playing that amp to hear the differences of the 6L6s and the EL34s. to feel that amp cranking your heart an soul and bumping your feet

  • what song is he playing at 2:30

  • @JIRIC8581 i'd say it's a random riff

  • @rafauleciaelcarpio thx kinda thought that when he changed it up the 2 time but thanx alot man

  • @JIRIC8581 :)

  • @JIRIC8581 The original version of "touch too much" found on Volts by AC/DC. it's kinda hard to find....but if you do some searching you can find it.

  • @JaySFaires I <3 U :)~

  • @JIRIC8581 haha thanks. I actually had the same question the first time I watched the video, but then I remembered what the song was. Happy listening!

  • @JaySFaires haha i kinda like the amp to sounds chunky a little 2 basse 4 me though

  • 5:33 WTF

  • good sounding amp, but i like the tweaker better

  • Good review

  • I really like the tone of this amp, is organic, not old, not too modern. Im looking for a bedroom tube amp, this definitively is an option

  • Fuck, always the same comments on every video. If you like music, then listen and dont talk stupid things. Lets talk abou the amp, the tone; the guitar, music, cabinets, pickups whatever related but please grow up! and skin color is a stupid thing. All is a matter of education. If you are black and grow up in a white city under a white education you probably will act like a white guy, and viceversa. Is the culture, the education.. not the skin color. What a superficial thing...

  • hehe, from the club to the bedroom...convientiant, because thats usually where i end up anyway lol

  • @TrippyTheShroom LOOOL

  • why is it that when ever someone plays a demo of any peice of new equipment it is always that very out dated rocky stuff why cant they play something a bit more modern????? so for us people living in the 21st will be able to hear these amps and equipment in a more apropriate context..

  • @harrothahobo Well, I dont think this amp is going to cope well when force to play djent haha. Plus it doesnt have that modern tone to it, so he's playing songs in reference to the tones he's getting. Plus the amps small, it's designed for the bedroom and small clubs where you do covers. When was the last time you played Necrophagist at your local RSL? haha

  • @harrothahobo After reading that comment I knew exactly what kind of trash I would be subjected to if I watched your clips... I was wrong. If that's your band, you fucking suck way worse that I imagined. I've heard lots of bad bands, and this is the first time I've felt compelled to let somebody know just how bad they are. This tone isn't exactly my cup of tea either, but it's still quite nice. There is nothing redeeming about your clips, especially not the guitar tone.

  • @wtfbwahaha Why do these death metal wanna be's even watch a video like this. This amp is for someone who can play guitar clean and with overdrive. This clown should buy a $200-$300 SS amp and put a Digitech Death Metal Pedal in front of it. The kind of music he likes sounds the same with a $200 amp or a $2,000 amp. I guess Paul should have played some Anti-Hydroxide Cum Sucker song and he would have gone cool, sounds just like my Raven 2X12.

  • @otm3904 No.

  • @wtfbwahaha None of the bands on my page are my bands, and if you read my comment properly you'll note that I did not have a go at anybody so that does not give you permission to rant on about how much my 'band' sucks. My point was that I'm just tired of hearing the same guitaring on every amp demo that I look at. In hindsite maybe I should have kept my opinion to myself, so in that sense I am sorry - for not keeping my opinion to myself.

  • I have watched this video too much. I must have this amp!!

  • @mark3777 i felt the same way, and then i bought it. GO BUY IT IT SOUNDS A BILLION TIMES BETTER IN PERSON. got mine for $500 it's the deal of a lifetime

  • @epitaph664 where did you find it for $500

  • @mark3777 the only place to buy great things...CRAIGSLIST! check ebay too, just make sure its a good seller....................and like i said this amp is worth tons more than it sells its outstanding

  • tone starts in your head, your fingers do the walking, and your gear allows you to transfer that tone. Nothing more, SRV could take a crap garage sale guitar and make it sound lovely... dont get sucked into expensive makes you better.

  • Damn i love PRS's !!

  • I WANT THAT RED CABLE!!!!!

  • like the clean tones more, cool amp for sure

  • @rg37 No, 16 going into a half and 8 going into a full stack.

  • The Tube Mix comes through as very subtle when dialing in EL84s and 6V6's on these videos, but when you demo the amp live you will hear a big difference. Same thing with the bright & tight switches. The Wattage dial does almost nothing. I have the Rebel 30.

  • at 20 watts can you hear yourself over a drumset? just curious

  • @blndsk4

    you do ; )

  • @blndsk4 Oh yeah. I haven't ever played this but a 15w tube amp easily gets over a drummer. 20w tube is super super loud..if it was cranked in a bedroom it would probably be really uncomfortable

  • @chedwerks i own it, and i cranked it in my basement and i couldn't hear correctly for about 2 hours. I am a drummer as well and when cranked i dont know if you would have been able to hear the drums

  • @blndsk4 easily

  • Can you plug this into a 4 ohm Cabinet?

  • lolz this would be great for classic rock, blues, funk, and of course southern rock(:

  • The rebel was okay, but I love the tweaker. I played on of these, and before I did, I was really excited about it because I thought it would make a super versatile amp, but the tube mix didn't really do much for me, and apparently Bruce himself admitted the wattage knob doesn't really change the wattage. The tweaker though is amazing, it can do so many great sounds and is even more than what I had hoped the rebel would be.

  • played this at the local amp dealer. the sound is sooo powerful, it was by far the best head in this size and price-range. the distortion blew me away. the tube mix makes it capable to get both a fender clean and a marshall distortion. this amp is the definition of bang for your buck..

  • Gain "dimed"?

  • great shirt, Paul!

  • i have this, its pretty nice

  • Uggghh, this guy again. He makes everything sound so bad. From his other stuff, don't judge the amp by this clip.

  • I've discovered that watching these videos with only the LEFT speaker/earbud gets rid of that horrible stereo effect they put on all the GW videos. You can actually hear what it's supposed to sound like ;-)

  • Dude comb your hair its distracting!

  • @skunizzi Dude you're gay!

  • at 6:41, nice! i'm going to steal that from you bud. thanx

  • what guitar is he playing?? It has that les paul look, but I know it's not

  • @jsfelts That would be a singlecut Paul Reed Smith. You can tell cause of the bird-inlays on the neck.

  • @Thorbass1: ahhaha

  • @jsfelts PRS Singlecut 245. great guitar, but i wish he would use an axe that people looking at amps of this price level would be using, like epiphone or even an se model PRS

  • @jsfelts well i know it's a PRS and the headstock says 245...so i guess it's a PRS 245?I dunno...

  • @jsfelts Definitely a PRS SC 245.

  • wow he plays okay but he talks to fuking much.

  • The 1 watt setting isn't "bedroom" level. That's BS. It's almost as loud as the 20 watt setting.

  • @superstitionfree Just got back from playing it. Theres HUGE difference volume, Very noticeable, but its not to say that 1 watt isn't still loud, you're right, but can't say theres no difference.

  • this dude talks too much and he can't play well enough to truly demo the gear he's hyping.. I'd fire his ass

  • @Randallkoller Comared to "the tone king" hes a virtuoso

  • pause at 3:00 XD

  • My Egnater tweaker sounds better- I know it has a few other features like tube mix and watt control but still I don't see why an amp that is $130 less by the same company is better O_o?

  • why is this wanker all over all these videos? dude can't play and he talk too much, I want to hear an amp not listen to some wanna be guitar picker talk about it

  • @Randallkoller

you must be joe satriani, this guy rocks?he cant play, youve gotta be fucking AMAZING?got lotza vids?

  • That tube mix didnt sound like it did a whole lot.. just get a blackstar, its Isf actually dose something. Also whats up with those les paul wanna bees.. just get the real thing!

  • @superchampable in person I hope its different, youtube qualitiy isn't good for listening to tube amp demos- solid state ones maybe... haha

  • It sounds like if the guitar's strings were much too low.

  • sounds a little muddy like no highs wonder if the eq is just at 5.

  • sounds good but a little muddy. are they trying to mask some harsh highs

  • @Theonlymoog is right it all depends on what sound you prefer. 1 person could say that sounds awesome and then some1 else could say it's crap. it all depens on the player. i personally like both the night train by vox and the egnater rebel. and one day i'll save up some chash & i'll buy one of them

  • I think I'm gonna get two, please.

  • So, how loud can this badboy get?

  • @RadiatorBoy Pretty loud.

  • I like it! Nice and puncy and has that definite tube sound.

  • Is this amplifier footswitchable? Please answer

  • @HarrisonGuitar95 No its single channel.

  • He starts playing 2:30

  • @askethom04 : thx, definitly the most usefull comment :-)

  • @askethom04 (thank you)

  • The reviews of this guy are just awnsome! He seems a little effeminate, but who gives a shit.. he rocks!

  • With a 20 head, how well would I be able to perform on an open outside stage and not have to worry about my volume?

  • @dmonks40 Depends on what you are trying to acheive. 150 watt heads to me are a myth if you are doing a full mic up. If you want to cover a large audience without a mic on the cab then this may not be adequate. Its a pretty grunty amp though and has plenty of volume for most situations. The 30 watt might be a better bet to give a little more headroom, also it is a 2 ch making it more versatile. I have personally mixed an artist with a home made 1 watt amp and had no issues. Hope that helps.

  • @dmonks40 Mic through a p.a?

  • I LOVE the sound of this amp from clean to dirty..I just wish there was a means to switch between the two like channels..

  • @DJQuips Rebel 30 does this. Its a 30 watt to. Looks nice.

  • which would sound better, this or a BH15 Handsome devil?

  • U can say everything about this guy but his playing is really nice !!!

  • I know this is off subject, but why the hell is there no sign for how much thumb downs there is for a comment anymore? Anyone else wondering this?

  • @Gamagachee I think you can turn it on and off as the poster of the clip.

  • I really want to try this amp out

  • ugly guitar

  • @crazyboy99000 dude thats a prs singlecut. Best damn guitar I have ever played.

  • How much gain does this amp actually have? If I use a pedal out front is it enough for some serious metal or does it come up short?

  • @modestvermin995 Depends on the pedal but Ive played on this amp a few times and its gain is really good. I use it with a gt-10 in the fx loop for everything I need.

  • @modestvermin995 if you stick the right pedal in front of it you can get metal but the actual amp's gain is more of a classic or hard rock sound

  • i really prefer the liveliness in the high frequencies of the el84 in gainy sounds but i guess the 6v6 will give a better headroom

  • ya u can here the difference, just never the tone you could get out of a $500 dollar guitar

I like Paul, but if your playing a 245, your gonna get a better amp than that

  • yeah, but for the money its the bast low watt head. Beats Marshall haze, Orange TT, and the night train.

  • it sounds great - and the attenuator and effects loop makes this head a TOTAL WIN. they're currently going for $549 in the US.

  • how much is this amp?

  • i just bought it today, 549 for the head, 249 for the little cab

  • @rjonsolo1 and exodor1:

There's no need to fight about music, guys. Music's all about the love. Tone, however, is all in the mind. Eddie rocked his Frankenstrat just as well as he did the Wolfgang. And Jack White rocks his garage sale Kay as well as he does his Gretsch. SRV sounded like SRV regardless of what he had in his mitts.

It's all very subject to the player and the style.

  • Smartest comment I have seen yet on here. It is all subjective. If you like your sound use it regardless of what anyone else says. Its all in the mind and fingers anyway. A good guitar player will make any amp sound amazing.

  • @Theonlymoog I agree no need to fight but each amp and each brand of guitar have a special tone, different the softs distortion to the cheap distortion, Gretsch sounds as gretesch, Telecaster sounds as telecaster.

    saludos

  • @Theonlymoog very well said!

  • The wattage changing feature is awesome, you can basically crank the tubes at 1 watt and get a great tone :D

  • Does anyone have one? How does it take pedals?

  • @nchardy It takes a tube screamer better than any amp I ever owned...

  • not to take away from the amp, i think it sounds great, but he's demo'ing it playing a $3000 guitar. let's hear a working man's guitar on a demo.

  • @exodor1 A guitar doesn't make the tone man, it's your fingers.

  • While that is partially true... I don't think Eddie Van Halen can rock very well with a Squier strat.

Just saying. While getting a 3000$ guitar won't make you a better player, a 150$ guitar will certainly not sound good. I think Paul could have had the decency to use an average guitar.

  • you are sooo smart. why don't you open up a finger outpatient surgery store, and have upgrades for your fingers? no sh*t fingers make a difference, but you can't tell me a three thousand dollar guitar doesn't help those fingers along easier. have a nice day.

  • @exodor1 you must not have tone...

  • @rjonsolo1 ...So this whole time I am trying different pickups and strings and adjusting the "tone" knob on my guitar and amp all I had to do was change my fingers?

    WTF?! hahahahaha

  • @workt71

All those things DO make a difference, but your overall tone comes from your hands, you'll learn that when you get some experience.

  • Ha ha ha! Dude I have been playing neo-classical for over 20 years...I was only kidding.

Thank you for your advise and time.

  • Because we need the essential information.

  • Awesome. Anyone have a price?

  • is paul wearing a KISS t-shirt

    if so thats awesome

  • Why is everybody giving so much love to the Vox Night train, its overpriced non versitile and sounds terrible compared to this.

  • @gerbilsaurusrex1 pretty much my thoughts

  • @gerbilsaurusrex1 kind of agree with you dude!

  • @gerbilsaurusrex1 famous brand I guess?

  • I have this amp since 9 months ago and the sound is amazing. Nice demo

  • how are like the really clean cleans on the egnater.

  • paul is an amazing guitarist :)

  • Is he using the PRS 245?

  • Yes.

  • Yes PRS SC 245 Sunburst...nice guitar and exxpensive :D:D

  • I wouldn't mind having one C:

  • What's with the emo hairdo?

  • he's changed style

  • awesome, sounds like the who.

  • The seeker!! Sweet sound and really "revolutionary" controls...really surprised me.. =)

  • what does watts do for your sound?

  • loudness

  • Technically, no. Watts is how much electricity it uses. With the exact same speaker, a 20 watt amp and a 50 watt amp could go the same volume, but the 50 watt can do it better.

  • @MyEverConstantSmile

Well...that's not the whole story. Could they go to the same volume? Sure, but what you miss is how they get there. The 20w will be running full out, max overdrive. The 50w will reach the same volume earlier, cleaner, then overdrive. In that respect you are right about the 50 doing it "better". Just different.

  • Yeah, that's kinda what I meant, you worded it better. Now that I think about it, I don't even know why I watched this video in the first place haha.

  • higher wattage makes louder "better"

  • more volume, more headroom. So a 50 watt amp would have a louder clean sound than a 5 watt, because the 5 watt would break up/ distort your sound. 50 watts is louder too

  • i played this the other day. amazing tone!

  • Guitar Player magazine gave it their "Editors pick" they raved about it in their review.

These are available in larger size/watt. Noticed Guitar center keeps these in stock along with about 5 different Egnater models.

  • great chiny high end....(1:17) lol

  • lol

    it does xD

  • this would be amazing bigger.

  • I've been waiting for this review for a long time! Great job!!

  • I just bought one of these and I F'IN love it! I'm running it through an Egnater 4x12. My biggest complaint is that its a single channel...I'm almost thinking of getting a swtichbox and another head.

  • OMG! Love that sound , im totally buting this!

  • thats an awesome guitar

  • GO PAUL!

  • "what makes this amp you-neek!"

  • Paul we love you!!!.. nice PRS and good demo.

  • awesome amp

  • Great job Paul!!!I'll be very happy if i see randall rm20 in some of next reviews;-)
