Good Video John, I got a wee bit of smoke in my eye when the Royal Scots Grey blew its whistle. It was even more relevent to me as it was not far from the stabling yard were I remember the Steam Engines there when I was wee.
Great video, not sure about the over- enthusiastic firing but this is a great, historic moment and I'm glad someone took the time to post this. Thank you very much. I remember when steam locos were a common sight in Alloa.
I'm glad the rail service has finally been restored to Alloa, although too young to remember steam, I do remember standing at Alloa West signalbox in the 1970s' watching coal trains.
