It's actually a short form birth certificate, The long form should be able to be obtained from HI, on factcheck they cover it. Has been approved by the state though. Short form wouldn't work for me playing sports but apparently is good enough for the state for Comm. in Chief of our military. Yes and no. It is a short form birth certificate, but HI no longer gives long forms since the 80's. It's the only kind of certified copy HI gives.

If a short form wouldn't work for you playing sports you probably got someone at the registration who didn't know what they were talking about. That kind of thing is more likely to happen in childrens sports than in, say, courts of law or the U.S. State Dept., both of which accept Obama's certificate with no problem.
