Explorer.exe (if you are on winvista win7) makes the colours appear different and graphics clash. I hope this helps! (It should turn out like the colours on my channel)

-_-... people it's a speedrun given the condition of high resources. If someone did it with low resources, the time would be different. Here, speed and unit variety are critical in a speedrun. Ignore the well... ignorant! :D I see you speedran under this condition, and that doesn't make the run any less impressive.

We were playing on gamespy arcade and I noticed that all the players were playing similarly. Basically, spamming all the buildings. I had been trying really hard to perfect my gameplay too but damn I completely lost against those monsters. So even though I doubted them, it didn't seem impossible considering. I personally can do 2 hardest if I polish my skills up, but that's about my max.

Yea its possible, you have to underplay the score at the start to avoid being rushed by all 7 civs and also control as much gold as possible for your army.

Now correct me if im wrong but they way i get started is u get 3 villagers at the start.. so i start one building a house, one on wood, and have another build a mill next to forage bushes and put that villager on food after they are done.. then i build more houses, a lumber camp when i can, and all the while producing villagers and splitting them between food and wood gathering... thats my dark age right there... oh and i build a barracks.. lol

Has anyone noticed that the siege weapons from this one is less reliable than the once from AOE1?

I mean common... the catapult and balistas (I dont want to say the specific names of those units cust it's too complicated) are soo easy to get destoryed in battle and its range is so short... the only reliable siege weapon is the battering/siege ramp but unfortunately it's melee/close range...

@gkcnae Not true. His particular tower rush wasn't perfectly executed, and he DID play on high resources instead of standard, but a tower rush can be a highly effective strategy if you play it right. You can cut him off from ALL his resources with towers. Maybe sometime I'll post my tower rush strat.

The best strategy is to be the Britons have 7 large groups of elite long bowman and about 30 monks and small Calvary with 5 trebuchets. the archers never allow anything within firing range and the trebuchets destroy castles and clear the way. use the Calvary as a blockade to the back of your archers

elite teutonic knight = 17 power (with armory upgrades gives 17+4)

then use paladins (14+4) and champions(13+4)

we just played a match where the three of us controlled the same civilization. We were against a team of 3 and a team of 2. The team of 2 we knocked out pretty early so dont say thats why we won. It was the exact same as 1 v 3 in the end, and we won.

@fenris2200 actually it does give you an advantage...or rather it takes the computers advantage away and makes it easier. no matter how fast you are, you cant match the speed at which the computer assigns people to tasks. the comp has the advantage at standard or low resources. if you start at high resources, you can build a defense quickly so it doesnt matter if the comp get a little ahead

did any here know that using 2-3 horse archers can make a huuuuuge difrence? and its very usefull i'll explain how:

if u see an enamy villager working on a building if u attack them b4 they get to i think 30% building is destroyed atoumaticaly and they lose the resources so horse archers move fast and have a ranged attack making it easier for them to stop enamy builders luckly for u if they atack ur villagers it wont get destryoed

i did win just use stander recoures spam like 30 vilagers befor age up and while agu up spam a few barbarians. with wich u attack while on the way o his base upgrade them as much as possible and kill as muc villagers as possbile this will give him big disat vantage and atleast while attacking him his villagers wont work :).

Build Walls , it s very important. At the hardest level they develop very quickly and you don't have time to do much, if you got a strong wall they will attack the wall and you can develop in peace.If you are playing with several players build a market and do many trading charts are also very very important. With all this you can beat an opponent at the hardest level. If you don't build walls you're screwed.

@desolatorXT Dunno if you ever fixed this, my sister had this problem. Go to your AOE folder to empires2.exe, or age2_x1.exe(for conqueror's), right click it, go to properties, and then Compatibility. Turn off or click on the thing that has to do with Theme or using theme on the window.
