I HAVE A QUESTION PLEASE! I have an unlocked first generation iphone but this gps motion tracking doesnt work on my iphone. is this for 3g only

Any ideas on turn by turn navigation? I have the phone but unfortunatly i ind the GPS fun but useless. GPS has two uses in my life. Sailing/Driving. I have a built in GPS system in my boat. GPS for my car would be great but apple seem to have banned it's development for the iphone. I guess at banned just because there are no apps. Turn by turn voice guidence would be awsome.

is the iphone GPS actually GPS or some stupid triangulation system with cell towers and these so called "wifi" spots? my car has GPS that's accurate within 5ft and it doesnt cost anything

it uses all of them. It's has A-GPS, which is real satalite positioning plus to speed up things it also utalizes cell and Wi-Fi. It's accurate to withen a few meters

If Tomtom works on a deal with Apple, then they may add turn-by-turn, BUT.. In the SDK disclaimer it says people may NOT develop applications with turn-by-turn GPS directions.

I'd imagine the reason WHY is because Tomtom has exclusive rights to it or something. Otherwise why would they want to limit the functionality of their own device? Makes sense for Tomtom to have a special deal with Apple.

i was watching LIVE tv on my Instinct then decided to upload some pic mail & video while i was navigating through the sprint music store and decided to check the web ..on the EVDO Rev-A speed connected quicker then you can say apple.. and then used my GPS to look up at&ts 3G and it said nowhere in this ginormic area ...ordered a pizza by voice...removed the battery and placed the other one on and listened to live radio and then used my stylus just cause icrap cant,and wow..can the icrap do that?
