its not our fault that unions are raping our country alongside the politicians, people from private sector are helpless and cut off from the system, greeks work very hard every day but those shitheads rape the budget and they just want more...we are not lazy or communists, its the socialist propaganda that grew inside our heads...and for fuck sake EU is lending to pay other loans and at pretty big interest, its not like we take that money and live lovely lifes...pls people dont be hypocrits...
As a greek WE are to blame for the huge deficit for electing incompetent politicians during the last decade. However, the EU should help it's members. They only lended us with a rate higher than the one the IMF charges! The really annoying thing is that some members such as Germany and Austria think that they did a "big favor". If they had just supported us politically in the beginning, we would never have needed this bail out in the first place!
I don't understand why it is everybody else fault, except the Greeks themselves... some of them have the 13th even a 14th month salary.... They don't pay tax and the black market represent 30% of the economy (so no tax to pay) and on top of that they retire at 53!!!!!! I understand their anger (a little bit) against their government though, their parliamentarians will still earn the 16th even the 17th month salary, for 12 months work... Everybody is guilty in that situation.
@cmwen You are another one who expresses an opinion on something you know nothing about. 13th even 14th salary? Indeed, because otherwise the annual income of Greeks would be 10,000 euros (because most salaries are 900-1000 euros). In the rest EU where there is no 13th and 14th salaries, it is just because they are consolidated to the basic salary (sallaries of 2000E)! So your problem is that it is called "13th salary"?
As for the pensions the average age of retirement is 62 years old not 53.
@RadoDani Guess what? Greece qualified for entrance in EU and eurozone! So who is saying nonsense?
What do you care which flag do we burn when this flag isn't your country's? Are you an emigrant in Canada from some shithole "European" country that you barely had something to eat? Maybe that's your problem with Greece (which has already survived the crisis) loser. Eat your heart out :)
@RadoDani Greece's GDP is much bigger than EU's countries like Portugual, Romania,Bulgaria etc. It's actually near to Spain's and Italy's, so even today it would qualify pretty easily.
As for the "donation" , that's bullcrap. Nobody gave away anything, especially Germans who benefit from their exports. We chill all day boozing up on ouzo? LOL what an idiotic comment.
By the way we have Slovaks immigrants here, you are not in the position to "donate" even a cent to Greece
@RadoDani These particular people who burn EU flags are communists (about 8% of Greek electorate), and they didn't vote for the incompetent Greek governments in the first place. Not that i support them, but you should consider that before making comments that hardly make sense blaming all Greeks for a youtube video presenting communists. Obviously the ones who voted the government parties do not burn EU flags.
@Apokorwnioths1984 Hmm. I see. My appologies. I removed my (misleading/idiotic) comments. I sincerely hope everything goes well for Greece in the future … especially for the young people working in the private sector who don't get the preferential treatment … something I can relate to myself.
@RadoDani It's ok, what you said stands for a percentage about 15% who work for the public sector and enjoy permanent job status. We blame these people ourselves because they are our drawback. The problem is when 85% of hard working people of private sector are being equilized to the ones who do not work. Besides it isn't pure luck that according to OECD stats Greeks are second in annual work hours only to Koreans. Many work in 2 jobs
@RadoDani Bailout has nothing to do with supporting Greek social system, that's why you will hardly find any Greek (even the ones who do not burn EU flags) who appreciates EU for the supposed "help". This money will go to some EU banks and not to Greek people (salaries/pensions go down all the time). So think before making comments. Greek people owe nothing to EU
You should get over your worship for EU and Germany, they aren't gonna help you improve your quality of life as they did for noone
Long time ago, in this Country were born the Gods - to live forever: philosophy, mathematics, medicine, poetry, music and all things we use and think today - that's Greece; and now this soul, this human beings die - for guilt of the global imperialism.
ο κόσμος είναι ένα κοινό σπίτι και οι λίγοι πλούσιοι δεν μπορούν να κυριαρχήσουν οι πολλές φτωχές
@FaberOSK: not past glory and superficial popularity, read again that I write: "Long time ago, in this Country were born the Gods - TO LIVE FOREVER: philosophy, mathematics, medicine, poetry, music and ALL THINGS WE USE AND THINK TODAY - that's Greece; and NOW this soul, this HUMAN BEINGS DIE - for GUILT of the GLOBAL IMPERIALISM". Empires fall, civilization is eternal.
If it makes you feel any better Greece, we Yanks are headed down the same socialist toilet as you. The same lamer unions that infect you infect us. I would rather have our government spend our resources on really cool fireworks, or a giant submarine in the shape of a squid that does nothing, or digging the worlds deepest hole for no reason, than negotiating with union leaders. This is what happens. My former home state of Michigan is a shining example, too.
@rap4ever995 … EU does not suck … EU is helping out Greece, yet Greece does not seem to appreciate it … that is all … they are being selfish … their social system is unsustainable and they are just resisting the necessary change.
stop your army budgets! As Greek people, we, the Turks, have been suffering for a long time because of the so-called armament race! We have to destroy militaristic notions among our societies. I wish, Greece would be rescued from these troubles, and would not look down their eastern neighbor. Keep the peace!
You were spending a lot for military with all these fake budgets and promises. Now you can't even afford to pay for the oil to make them run. You cannot be socialist and militarist at the same time especially without having a strong economy. What does Greece produce to pay all these debts? You asked for a strong army so now stop whining for the social cuts and tax increases. Now the next few Greek generations will be the slaves in EU and this is your fault. Tell it to your sons and daughters..
@kubruk Turkey was the slave of USA (IMF) the years 2002-2007 and was in a similar condition like Greece today (which will be controled by IMF in a similar way like Turkey in 2002), so i wouldn't bring the "slavery" issue if i were you
Greece, pretty much like Turkey, doesn't have NATIVE multinationals and industries, but that doesn't mean it would leave its borders open to third world military threats from the east. We had maritime industry and tourism, which went well till 2007 before crisis
@Apokorwnioths1984 After 2002 crisis, Turks were able to devalue their money to handle the situation vs Greece cannot as this is against EU policy. That is why you will suffer much more than supposed to be and you will be slaves of EU and IMF long long time. If you have never got any economy education, you will not know importance to devalue the money in such crisis. Comparing Turkey to Greece is not meaningful. Just stick comparing Greece to Bulgaria, Romania, Albania etc in region.
Romania, Bulgaria and Albania are comparable to Turkey not to Greece. They have GDP per capita near to Turkey and 3 times less than Greece, so no comparison. However the comparison i made concerned the IMF and the lack of native industrial companies, and not of course the level of wealth of two countries which is incomparable
The IMF program is 3 years old (in Turkey was 5). Having your own weak currency incurs some growth and more exports but it means also poverty and devaluation of assets
germany doesnt grow , or create jobs either. Its not the fault of the greeks. By the way , germans still want an overrated euro to keep living it up in Cuba or Spain
northern europeans spend too much, and produce too little
Greece is a bit corrupt, but not lazy. Nothing this complicated is as simple as that. When JP Morgan helps the Greek government hide their debt, and then goes ahead and shorts Greek debt in order to get a higher return on their investments, you start wondering if Greece is the only one to blame. Having said that, Greece is corrupt. I go there once every few years to visit family, and there are many examples of corruption.
Want a drivers license in Greece? You would have to pay 1000 euro plus to get it legally, including classes etc. BUT if you put 300 euro in an envelope and give it to the right people all you have to do is smile for the picture.
Taxes too much? Just give your accountant a few hundred euro and magically half your income disappears.
You want good medical care? Pay your surgeon 1000 euro right before the surgery. Many more examples. But I love Greece, and its people. Hate the corruption.
It's either bite the bullet now while they still have some control over the situation or be forced to bite the bullet when the country collapses. The debt acculmulated by the country was spent on the people, social benefits & programmes, higher civil servant wages etc. Now these bills have to be paid. Too bad, but that's the way it works. Too bad not everyone understands this.

Using an analogy, the fractional reserve banking system is a parasite
that lives off the blood (money) of the body ( Global economy). Life
has gone on until the parasite has got too big and too greedy (the
present). Then the weakest parts of the body start to die (Greece
etc.).
Kill the Greeks and save Europe.
