This reminds me of that episode on the original AG where the guy kept falling over the hurdle-walls at the end, and then the other guy came back and won it diving over the finish line backwards with his hand crossing the line before the other guy's body.

I haven't seen the new AG, but it looks ridiculous to put the reverse treadmill at the end of the Eliminator.  That used to be the first thing in the final stage, when the constestants actually still had energy!

But "more challenging" doesn't necessarily mean "better". The course could be 10 miles long and involve a 500-foot climb, which would be more challenging, but then no one would complete it. The point of the eliminator is that the contestants should all be able to complete it, but better athletes would complete it in a shorter amount of time. It's not entertaining to see people fail to complete the course. Maybe once is interesting, but if it keeps happening then ratings are going to drop.

its DEFINITELY better having the travelator at the end of the eliminator. i've always watched the UK version, so maybe my opinion is biased, but think about it; at the beginning, both people will make it without any trouble and whatever is at the end will be done easily.

this means that in almost every case (except maybe some small exceptions) the person with the headstart will win. having it at the end means that someone might slip due to fatigue and it makes the game more exciting.

While with the men that was pretty much true, on several episodes one of the women could not get up the treadmill at the beginning.

Fewer came from behind and the person who reached the walls first almost always won. However, sometimes, the leader fell off the log or the hand bike, allowing his/her opponent to catch up.

Yes, girls in America had a hand bike. Watch a women's eliminator from any season other than season 1 (no hand bike for either gender, otherwise simpler eliminator).

Falling off the hand bike did not cost too many contenders, but the log caused the loss of a lead countless times for both genders. The log in the US was much harder to cross than the one in the UK apparently.

The eliminator isn't that good this season.

1) the hand bike is impossible after going in the pool. Make the pool later

2) you need time penalties for falling off the bike and the spinning log. It's just quicker right now to jump off and get back on the ledge.

though I guess they'd correct those things next season though.
