We are NOT "people"! We have been on this planet that you call "Earth" far longer than you could comprehend. To even comment about your body form, "We" find humorous. If you were to be shocked by body forms, sometime We will give that ability to you so you can see us as we really exist. But, for right now, "You can't handle the truth!"
@QW5ub255bW91cw We are the ones that watch humans. Are you human? Tell me now! You better not be human. This video is for us reptilians to observe humans.
Actually he didn't. (Or rather, not definitively)
The technology to translate the negatives of an image into a positive didn't exist at the time. So the first images he showed to the world was of a clunky shadow.
When I was a kid way back in the 90's, internet connections in homes were still uncommon, so to see a naked girl the only place was the photography section of the town library. Thankfully mine was stocked with an eleven year old pervert's interests in mind, so there were two entire shelves devoted to nudism/naturism and nude figure photography. This was one of them, definitely not the best but it stands out in my mind.
@MeSuperNinja Em. I came here, following Georges Melies, after having been in "Hugo Cabret". But I am back now to solid grounds. Bye, bye ;-) But see the comments: There were probably "only" motion studies, as motion in film was new.
Actually these were motion studies for artists to use for more realism. Disney did something similar (with clothes) to get the motions right on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Amazingt classic footage from the begining of modern media, I loved the flying falcon I think it was that bird sequence as well as the female nudes (actual real women, not plastic dolls like now).
This was the first time science could study the natural movement of the human body. I'm not sure why she had to be completely naked except that in those days women's undergarments were all like dresses or boxer shorts. So this was the best way to see how she moved.
So why is 100 year old B/W footage of naked women allowed on Youtube, but modern stuff has to be pixalated (unless it's bullshit modern dance or "art")
@twentyone222 : Come ON. There's all kinds of nudity on Youtube. What about the rape scene in the original "Straw Dogs", Tila Tequila, "The Graduate"? Do I have some kind of special deal with Youtube, or what....?
@twentyone222 because the bare naked form is not seen as sexual its whats being done with it than then allows us to perceive it as sexual and therefore has to be covered up. i see nothing wrong with seeing the naked body. why is a breast or vagina and different to a hand or foot?
@DanielMark2712 It's a deal -- you show me your breast or vagina, I'll show you my hand or foot. Anyone who has daughters knows what I mean. Yes, I get that nudity per se is not necessarily sexual, but it's a very thin line, delicately crossed.
@twentyone222 ??? Being that old, it's already pixelated, my friend... modern stuff is very detailed so, they have to blur it as if it were 100 years old... makes sense doesn't it?
@Thopter I agree!!! Pubic hair is an attribute of womanhood. Absence of pubic hair is found only on pre-pubesent children. Whoever came up with shaving the area, apparently objects to women...prefers little girls. Women who go along with this should instead have waited for a real man who enjoys a real grown up woman...they do exist.
@jamesbrownintown dude, this were like the first movies ever made or something, when people realized that by passing these images our brain recognized as a movement
@lack76 I have always thought that too - but it could be that people with hips like that today are "not in demand" for general nude work (or porn): so we simply don't see them, even though they exist today. Just a thought.
EADWEARD MUYBRIDGE; a true pioneer working with still cameras taking still photographs to create motion pictures for the first time. Every movie you have ever seen owes a great deal of debt to Eadweard Muybridge!
This is clearly due to the choice of the people making this particular video, since Muybridge himself did extensive photography of nude men, including himself, in addition to women
EADWEARD MUYBRIDGE did the Human Locomotion as scientific studies and for artists. This is before motion pictures but sure seemed to be headed in that direction. A clever repurposing of the images to bridge the gap between still photos and movies.
