I remember going to London for the first time to visit Madame Tussaud Museum. I got so disappointed as no Kate Bush statue to be seen. How come? She's an England treasure. There are so many crap people already represented with a statue @ Madame Tussaud and even got their LADY and SIR title. It's quite amazing Kate hasn't yet been nominated a Lady. Wake up Queen of England!.

The Archangels ARE in the "wrong" order, according to tradition. My theory on this is that there IS a way to have them in this order--if you are standing on your head. Even if she's facing West instead, 'Michael to my right' would be at North, and his element is fire (South).

An amazing video! I've loved this song for years but, like another commentator here, never realised that there was this video to accompany it. It was only after listening to the re-recorded version of 'Lily' on Kate's new album 'The Director's Cut' that I thought to check it out here. That album is a joy, incidentally.
I love the whole The Line, The Cross & the Curve. Music and videos are amazing and I can't understand why some people still say something negative about it. Songs are full of emotion and video so brilliant!

kate bush is extraordinary in that from being 14 ( when she wrote most of the songs for her first album) she has manged to evolve creatively whilst still keeping integrity in her music. she never ceases to amaze us with her capacity to produce unique music with intelligent emotive lyrics which resonate and reach out to every one of us.
I am 15 years old and the only one out of my friends who has even heard of Kate, let alone absolutely LOVE her! This is one of her hidden little gems, brilliant imagination, thumbs up if you agree.

I never even heard of her, but almost every time I run a celebrity look-alike scan on one of my pics, she ends up in the results(though I don't quite see the resemblance), but by the pic they show of her, I thought she was a model. I would have never guessed. I actuly found this song by accident, searching for songs named "Lily". The video is chilling, but I'm addicted to the song.
The man who's standing behind the old lady's chair and is then pulled away looks like Peter Gabriel did in ca. 1973 and before he left Genesis. Especially at 1:30. Anyone who's seen an early Genesis performance gets what I mean. He has his face painted white and his hair partly shaven on the center of his head. At least it looks like it the short time we see the guy. But maybe I just think so cause I'm a fan of the Gabes. But I also love Kate. I'm not so familiar with The Red shoes album though.
The man behind the chair is Lindsay Kemp, Kate's dance and mime teacher in the 1970s. And the old lady is Lily. From what I have read she was a healer that Kate was seeing.

Hey if anyone is on for a laugh check out Kris Shreds 'version' of Wuthering Heights, another Kate Bush classic.
The guy is an ego maniac in addition to a pitiful singer, but the funniest thing is that if you make a comment stating that you dont like what he has done with the song he deletes your comments and blocks you from making any more comments.
He cant even get the lyrics right and sings through his nasal cavity. Check it out and have a good laugh! Its pitiful and painful but funny!

I don't think kate's pagan - michael, gabriel and uriel are all christian angels. I can't find anything about 'Bastian' in any religion though.

Actually the archangels appear in many religions including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism and Wicca.
In fact, the only archangels mentioned in the christian bible are Michael and Gabriel.

I love Kate Bush...I don't know alot about her personal life and when I heard the song not the viedo i was so captured by the song because of its mystical tale...The video is brilliant!! i really love it...The Red Shoes CD was a surprise and a disipointment some of the songs where not my cup of tea...two or three i liked but this was my favorite...I had bought this Tape years ago and lost it and hunted it down thru the internet and it's in my itunes to listen to when ever I feel like Bush.

Same here, but I really just loved the singles from the album. But my favourite is "You're the One." Never really gave Lily a chance but it is really great now that I give it a listen for the first time in about ten years.

So THIS is Kate Bush! I never even heard of her, but almost every time I run a celebrity look-alike scan on one of my pics, she ends up in the results(though I don't quite see the resemblance), but by the pic they show of her, I thought she was a model. I would have never guessed. I actuly found this song by accident, searching for songs named "Lily". The video is chilling, but I'm addicted to the song.

The man who's standing behind the old lady's chair and is then pulled away looks like Peter Gabriel did in ca. 1973 and before he left Genesis. Especially at 1:30. Anyone who's seen an early Genesis performance gets what I mean. He has his face painted white and his hair partly shaven on the center of his head. At least it looks like it the short time we see the guy. But maybe I just think so cause I'm a fan of the Gabes. But I also love Kate. I'm not so familiar with The Red shoes album though.

The man behind the chair is Lindsay Kemp, Kate's dance and mime teacher in the 1970s. And the old lady is Lily. From what I have read she was a healer that Kate was seeing.
