  • Himanaeus- I'm an ass.

  • Thats not what"disfigure their faces" means when he sias they fast. It means they make themselves look really sad when they fast to make it look like they're having to do endeavoures when they fast.

  • @kawayan65 I have never met a preacher without "guts". Almost all of them take great pride in their "guts". Of course some call it something else.

  • Spurgeon slames the 18 hundreds

  • mark is a beast

  • He needs to be more aware that he's convincing the whole congregation being pharisees. He's more immature here than now. Now he is thuroughly older and matured

  • @123LeMeBeCMB and @lvlarkopolo Calvinism isn't a false teaching it is the essential doctrines of the Bible

  • the idea that calvinism is a false teaching is kind of a broad uneducated statement. If anything, Arminism has far fewer scriptural support.

  • @123LetMeBeCMB True. I haven't read one scripture backing up Arminism.

  • thing is he is leaning towards calvanism and that is a false teaching.

  • @IvIarkopolo7 Wow. I don't think he is "just leaning". He once said "I am not a calvinist, but I believe what he taught". So... yup, according to you, he's a false teacher.

  • I love also the music at the begining. It goes well with mark.

  • I like Martin Luther

  • I have a hard time getting past Mark Driscoll's example of Martin Luther and his "godly" anger as an example. Martin Luther was a flagrant and dangerous anti-semitic. So much so that he was quoted by many of the top leaders of Nazi Germany. Do your research, it's easy to find.

  • Awesome!!

  • @baskuk---um NO the God Yahweh is NOT allah The HEBREW God has nothing to do with Islam. You my friend need to read both books and compare them-Yahweh clearly says He has a son, Allah clearly denies it. Yahweh ans allah are VERY different in those books-dont assume you know until you can back it up

  • @jennysgp92 YHWH stated to Moshe that "I AM therefore I AM" when Moshe asked who has sent him to the sons and daughters of Abraham. It's a tettagram. My Elohim is awesome!!!

  • @Bayaete ...God said tell them I AM sent you. Jesus later said the same words. The Jews knew what this meant. It meant Jesus claimed to be God. Jesus was killed for claiming to be God throughout the bible. If your "elohim" is not the God of the bible then it doesnt matter how awesome you think he is...hes not the God of the bible. Truth is not what you "feel" truth is what God says is true. Too many people building their own version of God....my God is Jesus-why? The bible says He is

  • @jennysgp92 of course I absolutely agree with you no argument here.

  • I'm glad for what God is doing through Driscoll. He's one of my favorite teachers. This is such a great message about things that all of us need to repent of. Praise be to God and thanks to the Holy Spirit for bringing these issues up and addressing them biblically and with loving correction.

  • God of the Bible is God of the Quran and the Torah, He is commanding us to follow his law , but no many are doing that ! i like your videos brother , keep up the good work , from a muslim peace

  • too legit to quit

  • legit

  • We all have great sin in our lives and we all lust, lie, steal, murder, blaspheme and every other sin. All I can do is just cry sometimes knowing how great my sin is against Christ who loves me so much that he gave up his life for a wretch like me.

  • I can't stand the horrible way he demeans women and sets them up for abuse. There should leaders other than John MacArthur to rebuke him for his dangerous statements. Seeing as how JP is such an avid advocate for complementarianism, maybe he should be showing some godly biblical-masculine headship by defending the women Driscoll is hurting.

  • @ThusFar777 How about you actually give an example of how he's doing this rather than just making blanket derogatory statements, wasting everyone's time.

  • @MattinatorHax

Try reading John MacArthur's "the rape of solomon's song." I think you can find it on sermonindex.

"Jesus Christ commands" wives to give oral sex to their husbands regardless of whether or not it makes them feel dirty? Women are commanded to get married and have children?

If you have no problem with the way he talks to women, either have not heard some of the stuff he has said, or you think it's ok to talk this way.

  • @MattinatorHax

Telling his parishioners that there is a certain thing called "biblical oral sex" and then used the Song of Solomon to back it up? I would argue that if certain anatomical characteristics of man and woman speak on their own of the deviant nature of homosexuality,(which, I believe is what he said if I am not mistaken,) then there is no reason why this form of marital 'intimacy' should not be held to the same standards.

  • @MattinatorHax

I'm not pretending that there is a concrete right and wrong when it comes to something so personal between two people (that is between them and God) but I think we need to be careful about imposing ourselves into the marriage beds and consciences of other people. No woman should be made to sear her conscience or feel dirty during an experience that is intended by God to make her feel loved, valued, and cherished.

  • @MattinatorHax

I'm sure Driscoll's heart is in the right place, but I hate spiritual abuse and I hate exploitation of women, and this is a good example of both.

  • We all need to hear the truth even if we don't like it. Is nice to have preachers who have the guts to speak truth.

  • Contextualization and justification... not the fruit of the Spirit.

  • I needed to hear all of that, thank you it was refreshing.

  • i would avoid some of his jokes, but he can flat teach.

  • supposed to shoot the wolves because we love the sheep !

  • What an amazing man of God. I like him and he is my favorite preacher. A man so filled with a biblical and sound theology. Please have a look at the rest of his sermons. I am sure they are a blessing to every one.

  • Mic Stand Cup holder.....Awesome!!!

  • Yet its meaning is not restricted to repentance in one's heart; for such repentance is null unless it produces outward signs in various mortifications of the flesh.

  • Yet its meaning is not restricted to repentance in one's heart; for such repentance is null unless it produces outward signs in various mortifications of the flesh.

  • This gay church members thing is not about him being at your church or not, but about seeing it as sin and having a desire to fix it like anyother sinnes. If he is an open gay man and calling himself a brother in Christ that is unbiblical.

  • GREAT.

    Humorous yet piercing biblical truth.

    Love this, brilliant message.

  • I love the Acts 29 movement. I only hope and pray that the next generation will produce good solid men of God with a back bone. I pray that the young Christians will rise up and take a stand for the gospel. I thank God for men like Piper, Driscoll, Chandler and all the rest. They have been so helpful in my walk, being saved not a very long time myself Im greatful that they keep to the scripture. Praise God!

  • "... being saved not a very long time myself..."

The only passionate Christians are new Christians, closet homosexuals and people who get paid for it (who are very often themselves closet homosexuals).

  • Coming from a background of ignorance myself I will not take offense to what you are saying. But you should know that not everyone who calls themselves a Christian is one. Just cause you go into a hospital doesn't make you a doctor. Being in a garage doesn't make you a car. So being in a church or even being called a Pastor doesn't make someone a Christian. "You shall know them by their fruits". Matthew 7:20. May God bless you and open your heart.

  • "Being in a garage doesn't make you a car."

Just so you know, we've all heard that a million times. Get some new material. "Christian" is a self-given title.

  • Like I said coming from a background of ignorance I will not get offended. If anyone ever hated Christians it was me. Trust me when I say that. In fact I usually told them to their face and not from behind a computer screen. I'm not trying to bash you. You may have been turned off by someone in the church. A lot of people have. But like I and a million others have said being in a garage does not make you a car. Again may God open your heart and bless you with a revelation of Himself.

  • "Like I said coming from a background of ignorance I will not get offended."

Is there some reason you keep repeating this? Do you want a medal or something?

I don't hate Christians, I just want them to keep their first century ideas to themselves, especially when it comes to innocent children. I know churches must try to expand (they are businesses, after all), but responsible, compassionate people should take every opportunity to stop them.

  • Don't misunderstand what I'm saying. I just understand where you're coming from for as much as you've said. You're absolutely right, for a long time I completely hated God because I thought Christians were nothing but two faced hypocrites, including my own family. But the Bible says there will be wolves in sheep's clothing. The modern day church for the most part, is nothing like it was in the first century. It has become a rodeo show. I got to go right now. I'll reply to you later.

  • "The modern day church for the most part, is nothing like it was in the first century."

Thank goodness for that. Back then they would stone you for working on the Sabbath, and I'm sure most women are relieved to no longer be treated as property.

  • why do you watch these videos?

  • @xTRUExHATEx

That's false. I've been a Christ Follower for two years now, and I'm just now getting on fire for God. I'm extremely passionate about it.

Quit trolling on Christianity; your claims are inaccurate and you haven't answered any of my questions on other videos.

  • God, Christians who call themselves "Christ Followers" are the worst. As if changing the name helps with PR or something.

Thanks for trying to tell me what to do, but I am no sheep. Quit whining.

  • @xTRUExHATEx

We're the worsts? Explain how, please. Well, I won't stop you from doing what you want; just make sure you have your information and facts correct before doing so.

  • You know that when people think of Christians they think of judgmental assholes, so you call yourselves "Christ Followers" as if that changes anything. It's a pathetic and transparent attempt at re-branding. Kind of like having 40-year-old pastors dress up like teenagers in order to sell the same old product.

  • @xTRUExHATEx

"You know that when people think of Christians they think of judgmental a*******."

That's the other persons problem, not ours. You (or people) claim that we're judgmental -- why not get to know us instead of assuming that instantly. The word "Christian" is only mentioned three times in the Bible. We're followers of Christ (like the Disciples) which means be more Christ Like.

You're obviously confused on the whole idea of this situation. And if people think we're judgmental, it

  • @xTRUExHATEx

is because of religious hypocrisy that focuses on rules, rules, rules. Jesus spoke specifically about this; we're to accept everyone, it does not matter.

There are a lot of churches that don't preach the true Gospel -- and they judge and will kick you out if you're wearing shorts or if you look homeless.

Nonetheless, there are a lot of churches who do accept everyone -- that focuses on preaching the True Gospel and getting people saved (hopefully).

    Find the right people.

  • "... there are a lot of churches who do accept everyone..."

Really? Are gay couples welcome at these churches? How about abortions providers?

  • @xTRUExHATEx

Yes, actually. The church I go to, they are welcome. (You probably don't believe me), but it is true.

  • Are they still accepted if they are regular attenders and still refuse to turn from their ways?

  • @adforhim

Yes, as a matter of fact they are. Our church is about getting people saved; not about who people are. Everyone needs saved, whether it be people who are black, gay, it does not matter.

We have a regular attendant that I know personally who is gay, and nobody in our church services -- not one person says anything about them -- they are equally accepted.

Nobody says they are refusing, either.

It's not as if we pester them saying, "Change your ways." No, that is wrong.

  • I agree with you that it does not matter who you are. Salvation is for everyone. My question is, do you have regulat attenders who are Christians and who are still gay? If so, are you OK with that?

  • @adforhim

If I'm not mistaken, there is somebody that attends my church on a regular basis and is gay. He is a Christian, yet gay. Am I okay with that? Well, I don't approve of him being gay, but I respect him and love him. It speaks about homosexuality in the Bible, but it also speaks of other forms of sexuality in the Bible -- which we all have trouble with, whether it be pornography, addiction to sex, or homosexuality. They are all bad and no need to subject one worse than the other.

  • Are you not speaking to him about it?

  • ...Right. But the truth is, none of those sins are to be glossed over or ignored in any Christian's life. We are to, by God's grace and God's Holy Spirit, be formed into the likeness of Christ. We are called to drop all of our pride, and all of our sin (again by His Grace and Spirit) and conform to Christ. You can leave all of this sin untouched in your life and anyone else's and everyone can be real nice to each other and 'great' friends, but we will be outright ignoring Colossians.

  • @adforhim

Therefore, I am not okay with any form of sexuality and sinful lusts; however, God will work on their hearts.

  • So you let them stay in your church?

  • So it's not your duty as a Christian to speak any truths into theirs lives and it is not your dut y to take steps to make sure the name and image of our Lord is not marred by this person?

  • @adforhim

At the end of each service, we offer invitations to the alter to pray; whether it to be to repent, pray for their needs, or to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Anyone is welcome at our church -- our goal is to get people saved. Doesn't matter who you are.

  • humor is biblical... i think God is really funny

  • Thank GOD he has found some men with the BALLS to preach this stuff most preachers wouldn't touch with a barge pole amen and halelujah

  • I love this guy. I wish i could live in seattle so i could attend Mars Hill. Thank God for Mark Driscoll.

  • religion is noob

  • lol, thats exactly what Mark is trying to say in all of this...

  • hey i know that guy!

  • I hope i get to meet him one day!

  • the church may be a whore but God loves her... get used to it...love her.. protect her...help her...redeem her. She's Christ's bride.

  • awesome

  • this guy is great man i didnt know if was watching stand up comedy or a preacher but you know what i learned so much because this guy is a great pastor wow to funny this guy is

  • isn't there a problem with not being able to tell the difference?

  • Only if he never said anything that was of substance and truth. He uses humour to ease the pain of peoples consciences as they feel pearced by guilt.

  • Mind Diaper! LOL!

  • excellent - excellent video!

  • im not sure if i should laugh or get offended... im not here to argue but i think i should get a free rebuttal.. no one said nething bout angels. humans were perfect our perfection came with freedom which led to our own demise.earth is fine we're responsible for ne damage done. his son IS perfect and isnt dead ne more. he was tortured for OUR depravity. so u wouldnt have to be tortured or destroyed... ur sense makes no sense.. "my" God wants to be ur friend and u call him a loser?? n Lou.......?

  • "no one said nething bout angels."

I did. As an example of another YHWH failure.

    "humans were perfect"

Yet god drowned nearly everyone on earth,

god plans to destroy the earth again soon,

and god plans to torture most of humanity for ever.

I could hardly call that success!

  • i hate arguing with athiests becuz it never goes newhere.. bro, God killed off the unrighteous and "He was grieved" He could hav killed EVERYONE off but he didnt. thats grace.. u make it sound like u deserve His attention its by His grace that u breathe dude. look up pascals wager... Salvation is a gift and if u dont want it boohoo but eternity is a loooooooong time to be gambling with... dnt write back im done

  • Do you really believe in misuse of commas or is it just me? ;)

  • Mark, you are so funny.

  • Aaronshaf2006, i have a feal other big Mark Driscoll's videos that that i would like to post. Tell me: how did you get to post a ONE HOUR video on youtube?

  • Wow! I feel SO blessed to hear messages like these ... and not because they are comforting in an "itching ears" kinda way, but comforting in that The Word of God cuts deep and convicts men of their sin. I'll admit, I've been acting/thinking like a Pharisee recently. That's not a good position to be in. I guess I ought to just sit it out for a bit and pray about everything :)

How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

  • Mark Driscoll Rocks!

  • everything he said is very true i used to go to a church that was very religious and hypocritical and in tern almost made me like them even after i got saved i was a little like that but I've really learned allot from this guy.

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe you had a bad connection. I haven't deleted any.

  • I would have to agree with you about Mark Driscoll, although he has of late been growing in understanding and compassion. I used to think he was far too "intense", but am now starting to see him channel his intensity to hold fast to biblical truth and ministry. He is a more godly man today than yesterday and really this is what the Christian walk really about. I hate who I was before I was saved, but thanks be to Christ that he is continually growing me.

  • I'm always intrigued as to how King David was "The man after God's own heart" In many ways, in particular, family, he was a failure, of course, the greatest was Bathsheebagate. But every time the finger of God came on him, he never had an excuse, he knew he was at fault. God looks for fire, not perfection, He (God) is perfection, we need to be ready to be lit kindling.

  • @simshiver I love his intensity and that he's not a man pleaser. I pray he never looses that.

  • I love Mark Driscoll.God bless the man.

  • thanks for posting this.

  • I could see how you would think Mark is a bit abrasive, but he is so biblical with his words I think it's ok. I understand when you say he needs more compassion, but in my opinion it takes a whole lot more love to tell someone what he says opposed to letting them run over the gospel. Paul didn't get imprisoned, stoned, and beaten because he was telling people what they want to hear.
