This sounds like a bluegrass american folk song from the civil war era, not reflective of England at all...and whos to say the embodiment of england lies on a football pitch..or any other pitch for that matter? England has led the way in indusrialisation, medicine, war and peace for over a thousand years, does this song really do our bravery, our courage and our inherant Englishness Justice? I don't think so.
