  • Oh! This car looks so ugly! COMPLETELY ruin the old ones style!

  • @pakesboy lol ford is going down buy a Nissan they are better

  • Front wheel drive? Now I know why I don't see many of these! They butchered this.

  • the engine on the 2010-present Ford Explorer

    Engine

    2.0 EcoBoost I4

    3.5 Duratec V6

  • It is based on the Ford Taurus platform but I want a truck !!!!

  • just got mine today, best car ive ever owned

  • It looks like the Edge, it sounds like the Edge, it tastes like.........................chicken.

    Who wants a chicken?

  • silly car ,,,,

  • @BunnerFrog You mean Tuarus X/Freestyle.

  • why did they kill my favorite line of vehicles? :-( 2011 is a sad sad year

  • @BunnerFrog The Edge and Explorer are on different platforms.

  • Fricken ugly grill.

  • ya i like my dads 2006 explorer it by far is a way better vehicle these new ones are now just throw away cars

  • so its now competing with crossovers instead of with things like the tahoe and suv's like that? this is a nice vehicle, but i miss the old explorer.

  • السيارة جميلة لكن تبدو غالية الله يرزقنا الفردوس الأعلى من الجنة

  • i find it ironic that this video is full of advertisments

    1. Ford Explorer

    2. Cars.com

    3. Youtube/Google auto ad for Jeremiah Weed in the intro.

  • The Explorer came in Last in the Motor Trend Comparison article. I drove one and thought it was too car based and felt weak and flimsy with alot of body roll..

  • Ford gets an F for Fuck up

  • when i saw the ford line up this yr man ford did a great job...their styling is more futuristic design..i never seen any production SUV today that could beat the explorer.

  • did he just say 237hp turbo charged 4 cylinder ??? So would that beat a Golf GTI ????

  • Ford is stepping up their shit. Now fix Lincoln!

  • Fords now aday look much nicer but the engines

  • People getting away from the off road ability? Yes if you live in a city. Just like everybody else Ford designed it for soccer moms in the major cities and forgot the people in the country. I grew up in wisconsin and now live in kentucky. Where I go fishing and hunting this new explorer will be destroyed getting there. Thank yoy ford for forgetting about those who bought the explorer for what it was designed for. The 11 exploere is the mustang2 mistake all over.

  • @weselskunk I totally agree with you. Where I live the CV axels on this front wheel drive junk would be wore out by time it got to my driveway. On my back country roads if it doesn't have good ground clearance and 4x4, it ain't making it back.

  • hmm they got rid of the sliding doors on the Freestar

  • RIP Ford Explorer, at least they had a good run from 1991-2010. To anyone that wants a real Explorer, just buy a 2010 or earlier model. Ford killed all the good vehicles this year. Not only did they ruin the Explorer with front wheel drive, they also killed the extremely reliable V8 RWD Crown Vic and Grand Marquis sedans. Ford, don't become another GM with wrong wheel drive shit. Only the Chrysler corporation makes proper vehicles now. Take the Grand Cherokee, and the Dodge Charger for example.

  • The headlights kind of look like the Acura MDX, maybe it's just me!!

  • It's a crossover! WTF Ford!?

  • Thanks, but I prefer my ACADIA 2011

  • Damn, it's a mom car now.

  • Ford Explorer: 1991-2010 R.I.P.

  • I realize that vehicles have to change their design and styling due primarily to market trends and consumer demands, and that the 2011 Explorer is a result of this among other things. Having said this, I will miss the previous-generation Ford Explorer (2006-2010). I have looked closely at the 2011 and I don't feel the love. That same day, I bought the last brand new 2010 Eddie Bauer in Dark Copper Metallic sitting in the local Ford showroom and am preserving it (even flat-bedded home).

  • why is the gas mileage so bad no better than a Pathfinder?

no 4low no frame it's a freaking FWD car

50k$ for this POS no thanks

  • The older Explorer (2010 and under) is better.

  • They absolutely killed the Explorer with fwd! I mean, if you switch of the awd you have fwd! WHAT THE FUCK?! Fwd in a Truck, holy shit thats so retarded.

  • @kingermanfool Did you know front wheel drive is better in the snow and mud than rear wheel drive?

  • watch this one >>>

    youtube.com/watch?v=xE5pbOj9hKA

  • its car based i assumed its based on a taurus with land rover dna

  • get a 4runner instead...this is for soccer moms.

  • Ford should do the following:

    1. Make sport variant and a high end model (like F-150 - Lariat, KingRanch, Harley Davidson and etc) abandon the 3.5 and get the 3.7 from Edge sport(300HP). If the I4 Turbo can output 250HP, it would be great.

    2. Also body color lower panels.

    3. Some Wheel's option from F-150's catalog or the Mustangs.

    Rest is Fine.

  • I have a video Slideshow about The Ford Explorer 2011 with download wallpaper Links

    /watch?v=YvYoYDIs01w

  • this shit looks fucking nasty the one before this shit was beautiful

  • WTF is this shit?? This gay ass station wagon, soccer mom trash.. The explorer looked so nice a couple years ago... Stop using import influence... Were not Toyota..

  • @bigtim286 I dont think the Explorer will even remotely cross show up in a Google search under Station Wagon.

  • the back looks a bit like the 2011 4runner just sayin

  • @jakejoebob Dont just say stuff, because it doesn't look anything like the 4runner. just saying.

  • simple English,it's a Land Rover...

  • When it come to Vietnam

  • i would like it A LOT more if they didn't go with the wrap around blinkers.

  • Looks like a great socceer mom vehicle.

  • i rather buy the 2010 than this. I dont like the look of it at all

  • The New Focus and Explorer are looking good for Ford right now.

  • That a cool Ford Explorer a friend of mine her mom just got a new 2011 Ford Explorer her mom use to have a 2004 Ford Explorer.

  • I like the body. I don't know about that grill......it's a bit too much!

  • with the price they are selling them for might as well get a mdx

  • Hyundai THE ONLY CAR COMPANY THAT MAKES THEIR OWN STEEL!!! ....Does Ford make their own very best steel??? nope....HYUNDAI BEAT FORD IN CAR TOTAL CAR SALES IN 2010...lets bash Hyundai??? oooops!!!!

  • i luv it!!!!

  • went to the dealership to check it out they had 2 but both were sold. The funny thing is that they were both limiteds with a msrp over 40. I though we were in a recession i guess not.

  • rrrr

  • The reason why they kept the Explorer name was because it had 96% name recognition when referring TO Ford. The other 4% was the F-series and mustang when have been around much longer than the Explorer

  • great review, lots of good clips of the vehicle instead of just the host. I wish i had money to buy one though.

  • Looks like a Toyota 4-Runner. Remember the good 'ol days when manufacturers kept their vehicles unique?

  • They just should have named this something else.. and keep the explorer as it was.. a beautiful truck..the best design was the previous one.. this thing's dash is ridiculous.. too many controls for people to work with when driving.. most people can't drive anyway..and they add them an almost full HUDs unit

  • id rather get a jeep

  • ya,but the price is too high...it's still a ford

  • wow ford has killed the explorer. r.i.p. im so sick of of all the crossover things on the road. its a jack of all traids master of none, key word being none. i just wish they would make up there minds. you can go off road but not realy, you can tow but not realy. you get midsize mpg with a inline 4, what is the stand out here.

  • looks like a fucking mini van

  • WOW, THOSE BIRDS IN THE BACKGROUND MUST BE HUNGRY

  • @pplease4me those aren't birds. They're bugs.

  • @pplease4me They are cicadas, not birds...

  • beautiful vehicle

  • Like every other SUV turned Crossover, the Explorer improve a good amount...

  • Did he just compare this SUV to a Toyota Highlander? Don't he mean, the Toyota 4-Runner??? Jeez, this guy!!! Smh.. Well, anyways..., very good vid. and, I'd LOVE to have this SUV! ;-)

  • Why are all sales rep over 6?

  • trying to copy rangerrover or sumthing.

  • @yoongoonah they owned range rover until around 08 and it was already deveoped

  • Ford's so good now that it even beats their Lincoln brand...

  • so the explorer is now rubbish off road.... the previous was also no good

but ok they choose a more car like setup wich is good because ppl who buy off road vehicles are really looking for family cars that resemble somehow the possibility of dreaming about going somewhere that they really don t know

couldn t they just call it the ford taurus wagon? and ford taurus awd

  • Does anybody think it is weird for a 18 year old male to either want this a Chevy Traverse or GMC Acadia?

  • @chevroletfan17 nope i love the gmc im 18

  • was expecting a better look

  • The Bracke system is poor qualty !!!!

  • This is ugly!! I like the old explorer better!

  • Of Ford's Trucks, Crossovers and SUV's, Ford trucks are the best selling trucks. The Escape and Expedition will stay because they still appeal to the "traditional SUV" market. The Edge and the new look Explorer will stay because both have new looks and Ford has invested heavily in these vehicles. The Ford Ranger will get a massive face lift for 2012 model year replacing the Explorer Sport Trac. The vehicle I think will suffer the most is the Ford Flex.

  • our family has had nine ford trucks between five of us and will never buy another brand. the trucks are excellent and the suv/crossover quality is great. i would choose ford over the equivilant toyota any day for quality feel and all around functionality.

  • if you want a ford crossover get an edge

  • its hidious! buy a real suv, a toyota 4runner! dont buy domestic junk that will break on you every day! Ford= found on road dead! or fix or repair daily! or fucked over rebuilt dodge!

  • @democrat09 Oh, is that why Ford is beating Toyota in Q&R scores, and why Toyota has recalled 6 million cars since the beginning of this year?

  • @TheZachalope every company has recalls...just cuz its 6 million recalls...doesent mean 6 million bad cars...it just means "potential"...cuz they came off the same assembly line....toyota still rates highest in reliability ..from both consumers and reviewers...

  • @TheZachalope toyota is acting stupid with their current release of ugly looking cars, i shud tell u the quality of ford n gm particularly in india is way ahead of toyota, these are solid built cars that r great to drive, btw we still dont hav explorer here, expect it soon frm ford

  • @TheZachalope whats q and r

  • @Sam60793 Quality and Reliability.

  • @democrat09 It's funny you say that Because ford is prb the biggest name in car brands today and are known for being good and reliable. Yea sure they have had a bad past but sence the 2000's They have been doing better and they last much longer.

  • @democrat09 It's funny you say that Because ford is prb the biggest name in car brands today and are known for being good and reliable. Yea sure they have had a bad past but sence the 2000's They have been doing better and they last much longer.

  • @democrat09 And....

Get killed by its gas pedals

Get America Killed for not buying an American product thus making the economy worse

Get over it. Ford has been doing better since the recession. Toyota's were and will always be dull while Fords new vehicles have character. They weren't bad either in terms of reliability. They were just overshadowed by the Japanese. The quality of their products nowadays are good to the point that its better than their Lincoln line up.

  • @mondeost2202008 no dude u got to b a dumb fuck like u to get killed in a Toyota. its called Neutral dumbshit. Also yeah toyota,s lineup is kinda gettin wierd and not really Toyota at al;l but still i prefer Toyota like look at the 2002 Tundra which by the way i am a proud owner of was and will b always better than the 02 f-150 just look at the crash test of those. b killed getting an adrenaline rush from speeding or die of an unsafe safety cage??????

  • Thumbs up if you think its ugly and lame that they won't offer a V8 for it.

  • @pugggs This has just as much power as the V8 but returns better gas mileage. There is more to power than the number of cylinders.

  • The new explorer looks alot better than anything general motors has to offer except the buick enclave, but pretty darn close. It looks better than honda pilot or toota highland and etc!

  • I wanna drive one, looks good.

  • This guy is an idiot talking about how the tail lights should flow into the lift gate. There is nothing uglier than huge tail lights on a big vehicle. Keep him off the design team. This is meant to be a replacement for a family vehicle more in line with a minivan than a true SUV. Remember that government regulations steer car design more than consumer wants and needs.

  • i like it :)

  • It's kind of ugly, but I'm still pretty excited to see what it can do. :)

  • wow thats ugly

  • @StressFreeWorldWide

    Shut up!

  • very very very good looking truck!!! and the man in PURPLE shirt is complaining abour tail lights...

  • Don't like the taillights look like there was room for a yellow or red turn signal , separate from the brake lights. More gauges would be great too !! They alway forget the oil and volt gauges.

  • It competes with noting! This car didn't even launch!

  • @diegodaudt . It doesn't launch until December 2010 -- but it will launch. I've got 2003 Explorer and it's been a good ride. I'm thinking strongly about this one.

  • @diegodaudt ....."noting"?..or nothing?...smartass...

  • @rsxzx6r Wow shitass. I meant nothing dumbass.

  • The taillights come to the side as reflectors for saftey.

  • is it just me, or are the headlights reminiscent of the MDX?

  • NO V8?

    that sucks.

  • @jetpackblast580 the ecoboost engine works like the V8 engine so this explorer will tow up to 9000 lbs trailer, and there trying the ecoboost engine on the F150 crew cab pickup. the ecoboost is fuel effecient and stronger.

  • @jetpackblast580 you still get the expedition

  • @jetpackblast580 Why you need a V8 when there is an EcoBoost engine, generating the same power or more with less consumption and efficiency? Please read more about what the ENGINEERING is about, and then ask why there is no V8 engine. The goal is to look for the best results from the most efficient ways. The Ecoboost engine can do the same exact tasks that an inefficient V8 can do. The only V8 available for non-commercial vehicles, able to have power and efficiency is the 5.0 in 2011 Mustang.

  • I mean this is like Toyota making the 4Runner or the FJ Crusier a Unibody..... well thats just redundant. The Highlander, Venza, and the RAV4 are already uni-body's

Ford can't support the Flex, Explorer, AND the edge. They are going to have to end up cutting one of them. I think the Flex will be it.

They are pretty much selling the same car in 3 ways......

  • Gotta admire Ford for making the move to a car-based Explorer to stay strong in the marketplace. Hey, if you gotta tow over 5000 lbs, get an Expedition or a sweet F-Series crewcab. Let's face it, the current Explorer is OUTDATED and it's a tired look from a styling point of view...and truck based SUV sales aren't what they used to be. This new model looks to be far more refined than the current Explorer, and should be very appealing to ppl who want nice ride/handling and a quiet vehicle.

  • this cars ugly i like the orginal shape like the 99 explorers

  • to be areal car ford must lift it 3 inches

  • This is interesting.....

I predict that most of these people who will be dumb enough to buy this thing are NOT people who had explorer's in the past.

At least 80% of the buyers of this thing have never owned an explorer in their life. Ford is aliening its explorer fans.

Looks like Ford is copying the Japanese. Looks a lot like a pilot and a highlander.

Looks like Ford is realizing that it sucks so its trying to be Toyota and Honda. FAIL

  • @ToyotaforCorolla My 2007 Toyota Camry has had a lot of problems. Both sun visors broke; curtain airbag cover keeps falling; brakes started squealing after a couple of months, cig lighters/power outlets both stopped working; 1 key fob stopped working within the first year; & sometimes I have to add oil in between oil changes! not to mention TWO recalls!!!! accelerator pedal & steering.

  • @rayj778

Yes. Toyota had some serious issues with the first couple of years of the current gen Camry but yours problems sound like a lemon.............

Get a 2010 Fusion and tell me about your transmission failure at 20K miles.....

  • @ToyotaforCorolla Lemon? I don't know about that. My friend has a toyota corola (a couple years old) & it also has the cig lighter/power outlet problem as well!!! & it's not a fuse problem. The dealer said they'll charge $150 just to CHECK what the problem is! My car is out of warranty (now 50,000 miles). Only the hybrid powertrain is guaranteed till 100,000 miles. & another thing; my car's engine block had a crack, which they fixed (it was in warranty then). I took it in for a oil change &

  • @rayj778

Your sounding very BS like. We have an 09 Yaris and it has 0 problem after 18K miles........

No shit sherlock. The standard warranty is 3 year 36K miles!!!! You get the extended like we did and its 7 year 100K milesS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't believe your bullshit now. I can understand maybe yours but no. I can smell your BS now

  • @ToyotaforCorolla Sounds like BS? LMAO, you're a 17 year old. Go figure, you wouldn't know a hole in the ground from you asshole. You want BS??? Why don't you come to Union Landing, Union City, CA (at Starbucks) & i can show you my '07 CAMRY HYBRID with paperwork of the work done in the dealership. COME ON LITTLE KID, GIVE ME A TIME AND DATE, I'LL MAKE SURE TO BE THERE. OH, & BRING YOUR TOYOTA YARIS...LMAO

  • @rayj778

The Camry Hybrid is ranked as the most reliable Camry there is.....

So you just got a bad one. Toyota has won more JD power awards than any other brand out there.

I believe you have a Camry and yes, its possible it was a POS but thats a rare occurrence. Unlucky you

  • @ToyotaforCorolla shut up faggot. you're like an annoying 2 year old. get back to sucking your dad's dick.

  • @rayj778

Yeah. Sure. Your the one who commented on my comment so you can STFU!

How very immature of you to say that! Oh well. I shouldn't take offense to that since I know im not gay.

    You lose. I win

  • @ToyotaforCorolla That was before i saw that you were a 17 year old dick sucking queer. Plz stop replying faggot & go take a long drive off a short cliff.

  • @ToyotaforCorolla Easy to say that someone is BS'ing!!! problem with you is that you're 17 & you wouldn't know BS from shit. Hamoud Asi. I sure hope you have your license.

  • @ToyotaforCorolla YOU are like so many kids. Got your nose stuck up in the air with a false sense of expertise over something your PARENTS own, not you. "Get a 2010 Fusion and tell me about your transmission failure at 20K miles". You smug little prick! At 17 I wouldn't tell YOU about anything I bought. Tell ME when your credit buys a car. Tell ME when you're not living on somebody else's dime. You eat, sleep and beat off. That's what you can talk about with authority

  • @ToyotaforCorolla who buys a car named yaris...brokeass i remember when i had a shitty car...syke

  • @ToyotaforCorolla the guy doing the oil change noticed it. They told me the crack was likely there before i bought the vehicle. They say it was cracked by a bolt which was tightened too much. i believe them, but what the hell?

  • @ToyotaforCorolla When i left the dealership after i bought the car, i was thinking to myself: "i'll never see this place again, unless it's for oil changes", but boy was I wrong. I'm going, going, back to back, to the dealer, dealer!!! LMAO

  • Ouch, no v8 + it has a fwd (or awd for v6 only) ?......That is like chevy coming out with a v6 corvette! Not knocking it, but what do people with boats and heavy trailers do ? Gm also did this with their new midsized suv's = Grand cherokee and durango just moved up a class. Now it will be GC and durango vs range rover, X5, vw touareg and the MB M class v8's.

  • Sony in my Explorer, no. thank. you.

  • any one know when this is gonna go on sale

  • what did happen to the old explorers?? old explorers where cornered bad looking and timeless but this one looks like any japanese suv with no own soul anymore..

i noticed the same with the new gmc's whats going on with the american design now? well but when the americans like it its okay but i dont like it

  • Nice '11 shelby at :57.

  • I dont care what anyone says....this thing is gonna sell like hot cakes....Ford did the right thing by shifting to a crossover platform because THATS WHATS HOT IN THE MARKET RIGHT NOW & U GO WITH WHAT CONSUMERS WANT IF U WANT TO STAY IN BUSINESS.....This move might even increase demand for the Expedition which was lagging in sales for the folks who need a REAL SUV.....I mean who the hell rock climbs in an Explorer anyway??....it has always been a family SUV ....smart move Ford

  • @soiceyboy33 I use my '99 Explorer off-road almost every day. I have yet to get it stuck. It has over 130,000 miles and still runs good as new.

  • @soiceyboy33 Who rock climbs in an Expedition? Who rock climbs in their daily driver?

  • ugliest thing i have seen even the jeep grand cherokee is nicer. looks like an ugly edge. they killed a classic. sorry to say but bye ford. they will not have much success with this. no v8 front wheel drive or awd wtf. this thing sucks ass

  • this new explorer sucks... Front wheel drive?! WTF man!

  • Great looking car!!

  • not body on frame /straight axel ?!?!?!

    BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • i bet you ford is gonna get so many complaints about why they didnt put a V8 in it and only front or awd, a normal suv has rwd or is a 4x4, they just turned it into an edge that can go offroad

  • Fucking Ugly. Wow. Looks like a duck.

  • WHAT THA FUCK NO V8?????????????????? FUCK IT ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLl

  • Looks like a gmc acadia.

  • bland looking...shitty Ford.

  • The same box as the new Jeep Cherokee with some Range Rove cues..

  • @Carscom

Why did you blocked Daveyt88? He tried to subscribe you because he loves your channel, you did great review with every cars. So, PLEASE UNBLOCK HIM and let him subcribe you.. Thank you

  • You can't make everyone happy, over all this is a improvement and a positive direction for Ford.

  • Nice but it ruined the Explorer Tradition of ruggedness and tough off-road/towing capability. Where's the traditional 4.0L V6 engine??? The 4 liter has been there since it's debut.

  • this is ugly as hell, i hope they bring the expedition back with better styling

  • I have an '02. No offense to Ford, but DANG! They ruined it!

  • 4 cyl turbo? in an explorer?? wtf??

  • This actually makes sense. Cause this goes up against Mid-size & Full-size crossover SUVs while the Expedition goes up against the remaining "true" suvs like the Tahoe & Suburban and the Toyota (i forget its name).

If you hate the new Explorer, get the EXPEDITION. Jus' sayin...

  • @andreww87 The toyota Sequioa.

  • @andreww87 do u mean the toyota 4runner?

  • @mexico12ism Actually i was thinking of the one thats the SUV version of the Tundra, but the 4runner also.

  • @andreww87 ahhhhh the sequoia

  • @mexico12ism ur missing the highlander and 4runner

  • @radioman521 i already said the 4runner and the highlander is more of a crossover

  • @andreww87 I don't want an Expedition. It's too big and thirsty. The Explorer is...er...was just the right size. It was a mid-size SUV with RWD/4WD with seating for 7 and plenty of cargo space and off-road capability when/if needed. Ne new Flexplorer is too small, FWD, and puny. For my needs, the real Explorer was just right. Now, if I want a real mid-size SUV, I'll have to go with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. At least it's RWD/4WD and you can get a V-8 in it.

  • @andreww87 Just look like improved version of GMC Acadia. What do you think?

  • This new Explorer is Hot, it stands 5' 11" high, has a 22.5 gal gas tank, and the 2.0L I4 Ecoboost has 27 more hp and 4 less lb ft than the out going V-6 and gets 19 city and 28 hwy, if you don't do any towing and very little off-roading, I would get the 4 cyl, heck with the aftermarket you could probably tune it for another 10-20 hp.

    Nice cruising range.
