Hard front brake at 1:02? WHAT?!?!?! ......(Beginner bike rider) : Mhmmmm....ill practice this (goes down hill at top speed)....(hard on front brakes).....(wakes up in hospital)
Well, there's one thing I can say for sure: They guy who tried to show this is not an expert and professional biker...
If he would be one, I would be the "Godfather of Freeride" compared to him. If you want to see a real expert and professional, you should look out for names like Wade Simmons, Steve Peat, Danny MacAskill.. these are real professionals.
I need some help,I'm 17 & my mom just got me a new Sharewood bike,I mainly use it for riding back and forth to my friends house & school & sometimes to the next city over from where I stay,is a Sharewood an okay bike for trail riding or is it better for road biking??
i want too see the guy that holds the cam !!and man we dont treat our bike that way its not a horn its our friend because its carrying our fat ass on its back(1,16)ohh and its still sound like shit
when in doubt- THROTTLE OUT! same goes for bikes going downhill =) (throttle out means spead up so bike balances easyer if there are any who dont know =) )
WOW excuse me but i'm REALLY impressed by that last jump.. i would be shitting myself and would have just carried my bike and walked down ha! DAMN i have so much to learn...
I think you kids may have never won a race. He is demonstrating how a skill is done. I use what he is talking about all the time. I win races all the time. Listen close to what he says, Brake slightly before the drop and then totally off the brakes to gain speed.
he is just demonstrating to other pussies how to brake downhill. just because he is doing a demonstration, it doesnt mean he actually does that everywhere.
if I were to demonstrate how to jump start a car, it wouldnt mean i always jump start it everywhere, i was just demonstrating that i knew how to.
@munrubenmario I couldn't agree with you more. It seems like MTB videos bring out the armchair expert in people. I'd love to know specifically why they think this guy is full of shite. Apparently he's a professional mountain bike racer, but that's not good enough. I haven't seen any advice from him that makes me scratch my head and wonder if he's from Mars. The only thing that tops MTB vids in trash talk seems to be debating who is the best guitar god.
@canadianroot I hate armchair experts as much as the next guy but this guy really doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. Because mtb is learned pretty much intuitively, it's not unlikely that a guy can ride decently but when it comes to explaining how he does it, he messes things up bad. There's another video where he suggests putting ALL your weight forward in order to make a skiddy descent, which is rather foolish, so when he supposedly does what he was describing, he doesn't do that.
@VegetativeHorse I suppose that's right.....I've learned it intuitively.....and have the bruises to prove it. Which, I suppose, is why I look on here for videos that might assist in technique. If he's teaching technically incorrect stuff, I guess folks ought to comment.....but I like rubenmario's comment, which for me sums it up nicely. I guess there are a lot of kids who think they're the next world downhill champ, and they wind up taking the piss out of each other as well.
@canadianroot Well put. I'd say there's a bit of both categories you mention, which was why I thought people should comment on bad advice regardless of the fact that this is not necessarily a nice thing to do. Claiming to know the theory better than somebody doesn't automatically make you a great rider. It's one thing to know how it's done right and another to actually do it. In my view, the main problem with this guy is that most of his riding is irrelevant to the points he's trying to make.

Didn't your mum ever tell you blokes if you haven't got something nice to say then don't say it at all.
Obviously everyone who watches these videos are olympic or world champion mtb'ers judging by the comments. Get over yourselves.
Youtube seems to be for knobheads big noting themselves on just about every subject known to man.
