His voice, his tunings, his application of the art that is music makes me happy that he's around and sad that I wish I could follow but will always fail to do so. i saw jeff martin live 2 days ago, and he mentioned a reunion on the gig, i had a chance to have a little chat with him at the backstage and asked if the news are true, and he answered "i really hope it". so maybe jeff m. wants to reunite the band, i hope stuart and jeff b. wants too!
One of the best Tea Party Videos ever! Thanks for putting it up! It is amazing that Jeff Burrows still can catch the drum stick which he throws in minute 5:17 :D Such a pity that they split up.
It's amazing that he starts with the oud, but the part where they have to change instruments is a bit weak. It would be better if he had an oud sound effect on his guitar. Obviously less impressive, but more "strong and steady", as far as the sound colour and volume are concerned.
@nategwinn Yeah, Jeff Martin has perfect pitch. There was a show on the Discovery channel one time about their orchestra tour and the technology and science behind it - the host mentioned it.
Last year he moved to Perth. He was touring Australia about 2-3 months ago. -He even came to Melbourne,but I was ill and couldn't go. Such a big disappoinment :( - I am not sure what is going on right now mate... That's all I know.

In fact i did. Ouds are always fretless. Yeap, he's correct, but then he has to leave the oud and take the guitar. "That" part is a bit empty.

i imagine its tuned the same as the Oud is so if he is using a 11 string oud it would be from low to high = C F A D G C
but if its a five string oud = G A D G C
so his guitar is either tuned to C or G
