I can't get enough of jon stewart dessimating these clowns. They look terrified. The look on their faces screams " oh shit he hasn't been drinking the flouridated water, and he is tearing us apart like a pit bull on a pomeranian. "

John Stewart uses irony which is coincidentally humorous and they use humor which is neither funny nor enlightening
@jacksawhavoc Oh they caught on, Carlson especially knew exactly what he was getting at. This was years and years ago and he was being deadly serious about the fact that news channels (regardless of political leaning, perceived or real) aren't really news anymore, they're 'infotainment' and this fact doesn't help to create a more well informed populace. A more well informed populace is why we have 'the press' in the first place.
Its all there in the video. And, tragically, still happens today
I really admire Jon so much. He is so witty and a lot smarter than most of these media clowns understand. You can clearly see how annoyed and dejected Tucker was the whole time and failed miserably trying to go toe to toe with Jon lol. Hahah called him a dick for the whole world to hear, didn't see that coming lmao.

Stewart is right on the edge...a little more and he would be philosophically libertarian.
I mean damn, he sees the Two Party Paradigm, he sees the charade, but he still can't quite pull the lever and more often than not falls on party lines.
Maybe Obama will push him over the edge and make him go full Independent. At the very least, he NEEDS to endorse Ron Paul.
I mean what else is he going to do? Endorse Obama again?
@Jack95912: He hasn't endorsed Ron Paul per se, but he's pointed out that the media has a tendency to ignore him, and has mentioned Dr. Paul's consistency, longevity, and how his ideas work, not to mention his success in Ames, IA. When Dr. Paul was on his show to promote his book "End The Fed", Stewart admitted it was one the few books he totally agreed with.
Ron Stewart, Good job on pushing the rod up the host of the crossfire, sorry to have missed the show. everybody keeps trying to compeir comedy / news with Media news,, we love your show....
john stewart is a comedy who does comedy news in his own style. I enjoy the questions he asks.
and it's annoying how these people interpret john saying they're 'too hard" on people and failing to realize by that that he mins they psin everything to their own idea of "news" rather than just having real, true news.
I'm not American, and I understand if you feel the urge to tell me to drop dead, but I truly agree with Jon's point that the polarized, American political analysts are causing great harm to way Americans discuss and think about politics. It's all about emotion, blame and rage now.
@DesolationAngel101 I am an american, & I do not feel the urge to tell u 2 drop dead. Sadly, I agree. :(
Hopefully we can wake-up, & realize that true power is w/ us, the people.. And struggle to reclaim (or jst 'claim', period) the ideals in which we were founded on. -- I understand the truth of the matter.. That we simply are not the moral role model we claim 2 be, & this country is not the bastian of liberty we like 2 think that it is. - But that doesnt mean we cant 1 day become that! :)
@DesolationAngel101 The main problem is, everyone doesn't wait for their time to talk. They are so busy trying to speak what they want to say, and interferes with their ability to listen to what the other is trying to say.
@DesolationAngel101 you are absolutely and 100% correct and guarantee quite a few American's born and bred will agree with you, so do not change your agreement. It's pathetic at how much these people exaggerate, blatantly and obviously misinform the people due to some fucked up agenda they all are working under.
@DesolationAngel101 I am American, and I applaud people like you. Non-American's who are more involved in, and informed about the political process of the US, than most American's. The plain truth is though, that people love nothing more than drinking the Kool-Aid in this country. Hearing what the analyst on their side has to say, and taking them at their word. That in itself, is inherently problematic, plus we have only 2 powerful parties, so the polarization point he makes is a bulls eye.
@DesolationAngel101 I think the two party system, and the subsequent voting strictly on the party line, is hurting the country far more than these political commentators; it has turned into a sporting event where you only vote for the red team or the blue team and the vote on every bill is split according to those lines. The legislators just vote in a way that will most likely see them re-elected; Americans (myself included) see this and that is why our turnout is one of the lowest in the world.
@DesolationAngel101 I am american, and I completely agree with you. Keep speaking the truth and spread news of Ron Paul! He will restore the U.S. to the Constitutional free country it once was! Peace for all countries!
it amazes me that these guys don't seem to tire (not these exact guys, but guys like them) of Jon Stewart demolishing them on their own shows. Too funny, one would think they'd learn eventually.
@drhoneybadger Jon has to make people laugh and think at the same time. The news stations have to read a prompter and then tell you why the members of the other political party are to blame.
i don't think john stewart is hiding behind being a comedian. that's who he is and news people are slamming him for pointing out how biased and dumb they are. yes he follows the same news, yes he has an opinion, but he is here to entertain first, and point out the retardation of the media and the government. he gets targeted by them for pointing it out
All this being said, there are areas where I admire Mr. Stewart's intellectual honesty. I know he disagrees vehemently with Ron Paul on many issues, but he has been one of the loudest voices questioning the MSM about their lack of proportional airtime for Mr. Paul. He has more than once pointed out the ideological consistency of Ron Paul.
This may just be a convenient way to take jabs at Mr. Stewart's more powerful enemies... but I would like to believe it is due to intellectual honesty.
Correction. I didn't presonally label daily show as a comedy show. It's not my "opinion". It happens to be a fact. The network, the show, and the host of the show (Jon Stewart himself) have very distinctly labeled it this from the beginning.
The same could be said for CNN's crossfire, John Bleck, and a host of Fox news programs in general. They were labeled by their network, their show which got picked up by the network, and themselves personally. How is this not sinking in?
@coalitionoftheilling I'm not really concerned with who picked out the label. What I'm trying to point out is that the label is arbitrary, and that the content and influence of the Daily Show go well beyond what has traditionally been accepted as comedy.
I don't care if you want to call your program a gospel music sing along; when you are intentionally influencing the perceptions of people and the discourse of the nation, it is dishonest to obscure hypocrisy by hiding behind your label.
@soupwell Let me put this in a way that you can understand. If I open up a store and I call it " The coffee shop- I am expected to sell coffee. MAYBE I'll sell cookies as well. Maybe you have a shop called "the cookie shop" and You sell cookies. Maybe My cookies are better than yours and I gain a large cookie following. Maybe you stop selling cookies all together. You only sell sandwiches at "the cookie shop" I sell cookies to go along with my coffee. In which store would you feel led astray?
@coalitionoftheilling I think you are missing my point. I'm not concerned with what you call your coffee/cookie shop, or what Stewart calls his show. The label is arbitrary, and to a large degree irrelevant. To me, it matters _what you do_. What Jon Stewart is _doing_ is participating in political commentary, albeit in a humorous way. Attempting to claim that your political commentary should be exempt from scrutiny because you call your establishment a coffee shop is being dishonest.
@soupwell You're not concerned because you unfortunately don't want to accept facts. A label is VERY relevant. You are selling your label. What is on the label is what you expect when you purchase a product.
It's DISHONEST to claim to BE or SELL something that you aren't. End of story. It ISN'T dishonest to participate in ANYTHING. New's stations that aren't telling the news are LYING. A comedy station participating in news isn't lying at all. They aren't claiming to be something they aren't....
@coalitionoftheilling I agree with you that it's dishonest to label a product "news" and then deliver propaganda. While it may not be dishonest for Jon Stewart to label his product "comedy", because it is indeed funny, it is dishonest to pretend that there is no news or political content that is influential on the public and should therefore be subject to scrutiny.
@soupwell We've made progress. Now the final part you aren't comprehending: Stewart never claimed that his show isn't influential socially or politically. He states that a NEWS STATION shouldn't compare itself to a COMEDY SHOW. They have separate obligations in their roles within the media. He welcomes the comparison but says "if you want to compare us we're in bad shape fellas". There is nothing dishonest about that. Does this give him an advantage in debates? Not if they are being honest. ;)
@coalitionoftheilling We've assigned comedy and news shows separate obligations based on a paradigm that The Daily Show renders obsolete.
When the Crossfire hosts point out how Stewart tossed softball questions at John Kerry, he ducked behind the cover of his comedy show label. In a situation where major political candidates regularly come on his show to address young viewers, it is taking an unfair advantage to claim that he is "just a comedy show". It's an effective shtick, but disingenuous.
@coalitionoftheilling Let me try an analogy on you. We as a culture have traditionally considered it unacceptable to do violence to a member of the clergy. However, if a man preached his religion, but also liked to box, it would be inappropriate for him to claim benefit of clergy while in the boxing ring. That's not to say that he canot call himself a preacher, or that he cannot spread his religious message, only that he should not abuse societal conventions to take an unfair advantage.
@soupwell Jesus Christ man. It sounds like you're mad at society in general. Of course news is assigned separate obligations than news. If you want to claim this is unfair so be it. Hell, you can claim South Park isn't fair either. It's a political satire based on current events in which someone gets shitted on by a bunch of cartoon cutout children. The Daily show is a comedy show first and foremost. It tossed softball questions because it isn't a political debate show like "crossfire". I'm done
@soupwell and on that note I'll end this because either you lack the reading comprehension and problem solving skills to deduct a very simple concept of how things work in our society; or you're simply either trolling or too stubborn yield to sound reason. In any case. Happy hump day.
Brilliantly done. Made them look like ass monkeys. On the other hand, he's a disingenuous hypocrite. He loves to hide behind the "I just do a little comedy show" trope. It's more than a little unfair to participate in national discourse, but to insist on such an unlevel playing field.
@soupwell I don't think its "unfair" or "disingenuous" at all. He isn't claiming to be something he's not. If the daily show was a NEWS show then it would need a sense of integrity and balance when approaching and reporting news. He has a comedy show and he often uses it as a platform for pointing out rediculous political hypocracy at the expense of biased crooks who are part of- or run it. If CrossFire was a comedy show rather than a news show on CNN- it's credibility wouldn't be in question.
@coalitionoftheilling The comedy show vs "real news" show distinction is exactly what is disingenuous. Jon Stewart pushed the boundaries of comedy and created something which didn't exist before.
I submit that there isn't a "real news" show that has as much of an impact on the perceptions of young Americans as the Daily Show. That's great, and I applaud his efforts in engaging young people in political discourse, but pretending that no one takes him seriously is dishonest.
@soupwell Well there is your mistake right there. You're under the assumption that he's pretending that no one is taking him seriously. He's well aware that people take him seriously and his political impact. Again; the DIFFERENCE is the PLATFORM and CREDENTIALS. Jon Steward openly says that he is a comedian on a comedy channel. That criterea means that he has no obligation to the American people other than to provide them with comedy and laughs. People in the news are obligated to report news.
@coalitionoftheilling You are attempting to assign obligations based on traditional societal labels. Crossfire, which is labeled a news show, you claim is obligated to report the news. The Daily Show, which you label a comedy show, is not obligated to do anything other than produce laughs.
The problem is that the Daily Show doesn't play nice with traditional societal labels. Jon Stewart has crossed the boundaries of "just a comedy show", and is an active participant in our political discussion.
@soupwell So lets review. People claiming to bring their audience honest, "fair", unbiased news but are blatantly lying while providing slanted news, censored guests, and biased analysts in favor of a private or corporate agenda are not fulfilling their obligations. The integrity of their profession is in question. Jon said if they'd rather do something other than provide honest and balanced news, they should join him on comedy central or consider changing their profession.
@coalitionoftheilling I wouldn't give any of the other guys any more slack either if they started calling themselves comedians. This isn't about me hating Jon Stewart.
I think he's brilliant, though I do frequently disagree with his government centric solutions for everything. I wish there were someone who aligned more closely with my philosophy and could be as funny and biting and Jon Stewart, but I would still expect them to "play fair".
that is, unless you're claiming that only news hosts have a right to point out hypocracy, slants, and corruption in politics and news stations... In which I'd say you have a...unique take on the first ammendment and our right to point out when someone is doing or saying something in an ethical and integral field that is dishonest or biased for a personal or corporate agenda at the expense of the people/viewers....
@coalitionoftheilling I have no problem with pointing out the intellectual shortcomings of Crossfire. And someone really needed to mock that ridiculously theatrical bow tie.
I have not called for his speech to be censored, so I'm not sure why you are questioning my "take on the first amendment". However, Mr. Stewart should be held responsible for his cheap shots and less than complete truths. Comic license is fine, and fun to watch, but Jon Stewart is certainly more than "just a comedian".
@soupwell re read what I said. Fox news is notorious for censoring their guests. Hell, CNN's crossfire tried to censor him throughout the entire interviewing process, cutting him off and taking breaks to try to get things back in order. The reason this is such a great example is because Crossfire usually deals with one guest at a time, wheras Fox can have multiple guests and analysts and if someone says something they dislike they immediately cut them off and change to another speaker.
@coalitionoftheilling I completely support calling out the mainstream news shows on their dishonesty. I am even grateful to Mr. Stewart for doing so in such a spectacular way.
@soupwell Anyone is welcome to engage in politics. The difference is, you go to a politician when you want a CREDIBLE reference, a news reporter when you expect FAIR AND BALANCED news, and a comedian when you want to be entertained. Jon Stewart is entertaining, and as an entertainer/ comedian he entertains his audience with his personal opinions which very clearly differ from yours. But again, his obligation is different professionals of these other fields. And they don't want to be accountable.
@soupwell If Jon is more than a comedian it's only because you've made him out to be more than a comedian. He has always very clearly stated that he is a comedian first- on a comedy channel. There should be no confusion here. Everyone who watches the show is well aware of what they are getting into. Do you think he should have a disclaimer saying "I'm a comedian" before the show starts in order for him to do his political schtik?
Mr. Stewart is basically asking for a free pass under the traditional societal definition and customs of a comedian. However, he is not acting according to the traditional definitions and customs of a comedian. I know that comedians have a long history of making political humor, but Mr. Stewart has built his career by intentionally pushing the national political discourse in ways that are far beyond what society expects from a comedian.
If anyone agrees with this video, consider supporting Ron Paul! He's the only candidate that has the 20+ year voting track record of acting within the limits of the constitution and keeping us financially responsible. If only we had more like him!!
I just contributed to his campaign! Be a part of this historic R3VOLUTION and support the "Black THIS out" money bomb happening today!
He pleaded. I literally saw a man pleading with an official so he can get his point across on TV, and the official didn't let him. What the fuck is this? Now in 2011, I can see why Jon is more active, more zealous.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Did somebody say something humorous? This audience would laugh at anything. Jon Stewart is a biased and arrogant left winger who deludes himself into thinking that he is a truth seeker. He is far from "Fair & Balanced!"
I think from what I have seen this man Jon is against fox news. Which people say is republican, guess what they are both the same, they shake hands and eat and live on your money and try to make the two sides the issue when really no matter which, they own you and all belong to the Bohemian Grove, they are all sick and hungry for your cash! And they want POWER to rule over you! YES, they want puppets! They are all in on it!
I haven't watched any Television in well over a decade, I have no idea who these men are and they didn't mention Obama the muslim. But this was so funny! And the commercial on the vaccines in the middle of the show, the truth is out now, these men endorse to want you people dead because the vaccines are killing people! And babies are becoming autistic and brain damaged from their poisons they endorse. Who ever these men on this show are, do not trust them! LIARS is what they are!
@toobularbells No, he's fine. You're the douche bag for trying to call someone out on something that nobody cares about. It's still a great segment no matter how many times it's posted.

Jack95912 3 months ago 2
@Jack95912: He hasn't endorsed Ron Paul per se, but he's pointed out that the media has a tendency to ignore him, and has mentioned Dr. Paul's consistency, longevity, and how his ideas work, not to mention his success in Ames, IA. When Dr. Paul was on his show to promote his book "End The Fed", Stewart admitted it was one the few books he totally agreed with.

LittleDesertFlower78 3 months ago
@DesolationAngel101 The main problem is, everyone doesn't wait for their time to talk. They are so busy trying to speak what they want to say, and interferes with their ability to listen to what the other is trying to say.

@DesolationAngel101 you are absolutely and 100% correct and guarantee quite a few American's born and bred will agree with you, so do not change your agreement. It's pathetic at how much these people exaggerate, blatantly and obviously misinform the people due to some fucked up agenda they all are working under.
DevoidTerror 3 months ago 2
@DesolationAngel101 I am American, and I applaud people like you. Non-American's who are more involved in, and informed about the political process of the US, than most American's. The plain truth is though, that people love nothing more than drinking the Kool-Aid in this country. Hearing what the analyst on their side has to say, and taking them at their word. That in itself, is inherently problematic, plus we have only 2 powerful parties, so the polarization point he makes is a bulls eye.
MrY0ufail 3 months ago
@DesolationAngel101 I think the two party system, and the subsequent voting strictly on the party line, is hurting the country far more than these political commentators; it has turned into a sporting event where you only vote for the red team or the blue team and the vote on every bill is split according to those lines. The legislators just vote in a way that will most likely see them re-elected; Americans (myself included) see this and that is why our turnout is one of the lowest in the world.

Stewart's more powerful enemies... but I would like to believe it is due to intellectual honesty.
soupwell 4 months ago
How is this not sinking in?
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling I'm not really concerned with who picked out the label. What I'm trying to point out is that the label is arbitrary, and that the content and influence of the Daily Show go well beyond what has traditionally been accepted as comedy.
I don't care if you want to call your program a gospel music sing along; when you are intentionally influencing the perceptions of people and the discourse of the nation, it is dishonest to obscure hypocrisy by hiding behind your label.
soupwell 4 months ago
@soupwell Let me put this in a way that you can understand. If I open up a store and I call it " The coffee shop- I am expected to sell coffee. MAYBE I'll sell cookies as well. Maybe you have a shop called "the cookie shop" and You sell cookies. Maybe My cookies are better than yours and I gain a large cookie following. Maybe you stop selling cookies all together. You only sell sandwiches at "the cookie shop" I sell cookies to go along with my coffee. In which store would you feel led astray?
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling I think you are missing my point. I'm not concerned with what you call your coffee/cookie shop, or what Stewart calls his show. The label is arbitrary, and to a large degree irrelevant. To me, it matters _what you do_. What Jon Stewart is _doing_ is participating in political commentary, albeit in a humorous way. Attempting to claim that your political commentary should be exempt from scrutiny because you call your establishment a coffee shop is being dishonest.
soupwell 4 months ago
@soupwell You're not concerned because you unfortunately don't want to accept facts. A label is VERY relevant. You are selling your label. What is on the label is what you expect when you purchase a product.
It's DISHONEST to claim to BE or SELL something that you aren't. End of story. It ISN'T dishonest to participate in ANYTHING. New's stations that aren't telling the news are LYING. A comedy station participating in news isn't lying at all. They aren't claiming to be something they aren't....
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling I agree with you that it's dishonest to label a product "news" and then deliver propaganda. While it may not be dishonest for Jon Stewart to label his product "comedy", because it is indeed funny, it is dishonest to pretend that there is no news or political content that is influential on the public and should therefore be subject to scrutiny.
soupwell 4 months ago
@soupwell We've made progress. Now the final part you aren't comprehending: Stewart never claimed that his show isn't influential socially or politically. He states that a NEWS STATION shouldn't compare itself to a COMEDY SHOW. They have separate obligations in their roles within the media. He welcomes the comparison but says "if you want to compare us we're in bad shape fellas". There is nothing dishonest about that. Does this give him an advantage in debates? Not if they are being honest. ;)
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago 2
@coalitionoftheilling We've assigned comedy and news shows separate obligations based on a paradigm that The Daily Show renders obsolete.
When the Crossfire hosts point out how Stewart tossed softball questions at John Kerry, he ducked behind the cover of his comedy show label. In a situation where major political candidates regularly come on his show to address young viewers, it is taking an unfair advantage to claim that he is "just a comedy show". It's an effective shtick, but disingenuous.
soupwell 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling Let me try an analogy on you. We as a culture have traditionally considered it unacceptable to do violence to a member of the clergy. However, if a man preached his religion, but also liked to box, it would be inappropriate for him to claim benefit of clergy while in the boxing ring. That's not to say that he canot call himself a preacher, or that he cannot spread his religious message, only that he should not abuse societal conventions to take an unfair advantage.
soupwell 4 months ago
@soupwell Jesus Christ man. It sounds like you're mad at society in general. Of course news is assigned separate obligations than news. If you want to claim this is unfair so be it. Hell, you can claim South Park isn't fair either. It's a political satire based on current events in which someone gets shitted on by a bunch of cartoon cutout children. The Daily show is a comedy show first and foremost. It tossed softball questions because it isn't a political debate show like "crossfire". I'm done
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@soupwell and on that note I'll end this because either you lack the reading comprehension and problem solving skills to deduct a very simple concept of how things work in our society; or you're simply either trolling or too stubborn yield to sound reason. In any case. Happy hump day.
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
Brilliantly done. Made them look like ass monkeys. On the other hand, he's a disingenuous hypocrite. He loves to hide behind the "I just do a little comedy show" trope. It's more than a little unfair to participate in national discourse, but to insist on such an unlevel playing field.
soupwell 4 months ago
@soupwell I don't think its "unfair" or "disingenuous" at all. He isn't claiming to be something he's not. If the daily show was a NEWS show then it would need a sense of integrity and balance when approaching and reporting news. He has a comedy show and he often uses it as a platform for pointing out rediculous political hypocracy at the expense of biased crooks who are part of- or run it. If CrossFire was a comedy show rather than a news show on CNN- it's credibility wouldn't be in question.
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling The comedy show vs "real news" show distinction is exactly what is disingenuous. Jon Stewart pushed the boundaries of comedy and created something which didn't exist before.
I submit that there isn't a "real news" show that has as much of an impact on the perceptions of young Americans as the Daily Show. That's great, and I applaud his efforts in engaging young people in political discourse, but pretending that no one takes him seriously is dishonest.
soupwell 4 months ago
@soupwell Well there is your mistake right there. You're under the assumption that he's pretending that no one is taking him seriously. He's well aware that people take him seriously and his political impact. Again; the DIFFERENCE is the PLATFORM and CREDENTIALS. Jon Steward openly says that he is a comedian on a comedy channel. That criterea means that he has no obligation to the American people other than to provide them with comedy and laughs. People in the news are obligated to report news.
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling You are attempting to assign obligations based on traditional societal labels. Crossfire, which is labeled a news show, you claim is obligated to report the news. The Daily Show, which you label a comedy show, is not obligated to do anything other than produce laughs.
The problem is that the Daily Show doesn't play nice with traditional societal labels. Jon Stewart has crossed the boundaries of "just a comedy show", and is an active participant in our political discussion.
soupwell 4 months ago
@soupwell So lets review. People claiming to bring their audience honest, "fair", unbiased news but are blatantly lying while providing slanted news, censored guests, and biased analysts in favor of a private or corporate agenda are not fulfilling their obligations. The integrity of their profession is in question. Jon said if they'd rather do something other than provide honest and balanced news, they should join him on comedy central or consider changing their profession.
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling I wouldn't give any of the other guys any more slack either if they started calling themselves comedians. This isn't about me hating Jon Stewart.
I think he's brilliant, though I do frequently disagree with his government centric solutions for everything. I wish there were someone who aligned more closely with my philosophy and could be as funny and biting and Jon Stewart, but I would still expect them to "play fair".
soupwell 4 months ago
that is, unless you're claiming that only news hosts have a right to point out hypocracy, slants, and corruption in politics and news stations... In which I'd say you have a...unique take on the first ammendment and our right to point out when someone is doing or saying something in an ethical and integral field that is dishonest or biased for a personal or corporate agenda at the expense of the people/viewers....
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling I have no problem with pointing out the intellectual shortcomings of Crossfire. And someone really needed to mock that ridiculously theatrical bow tie.
I have not called for his speech to be censored, so I'm not sure why you are questioning my "take on the first amendment". However, Mr. Stewart should be held responsible for his cheap shots and less than complete truths. Comic license is fine, and fun to watch, but Jon Stewart is certainly more than "just a comedian".
soupwell 4 months ago
@soupwell re read what I said. Fox news is notorious for censoring their guests. Hell, CNN's crossfire tried to censor him throughout the entire interviewing process, cutting him off and taking breaks to try to get things back in order. The reason this is such a great example is because Crossfire usually deals with one guest at a time, wheras Fox can have multiple guests and analysts and if someone says something they dislike they immediately cut them off and change to another speaker.
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling I completely support calling out the mainstream news shows on their dishonesty. I am even grateful to Mr. Stewart for doing so in such a spectacular way.
soupwell 4 months ago
@soupwell Anyone is welcome to engage in politics. The difference is, you go to a politician when you want a CREDIBLE reference, a news reporter when you expect FAIR AND BALANCED news, and a comedian when you want to be entertained. Jon Stewart is entertaining, and as an entertainer/ comedian he entertains his audience with his personal opinions which very clearly differ from yours. But again, his obligation is different professionals of these other fields. And they don't want to be accountable.
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@soupwell If Jon is more than a comedian it's only because you've made him out to be more than a comedian. He has always very clearly stated that he is a comedian first- on a comedy channel. There should be no confusion here. Everyone who watches the show is well aware of what they are getting into. Do you think he should have a disclaimer saying "I'm a comedian" before the show starts in order for him to do his political schtik?
coalitionoftheilling 4 months ago
@coalitionoftheilling A disclaimer wouldn't help at all.
