u both are wrong.
kahiko = old or ancient.
OLAPA = dancer; "any dance accompanied by chanting and drumming on a gourd drum."
so basically hula kahiko means old hula and when you say "kane kahiko" dat means old man.
*think i wrong?! look in the dictionary.

Kane means 'man' in hawaiian, and kahiko is the ancient style of hula. So, together it is men's traditional hula:)

kahiko = traditional style of hula that men were the only ones allowed to dance for the royalty.
auana= modern most women do this hawaiiana haumana style.. : D
