i think it's because first they are just playing, not even barking. But then the younger darker one started to become more serious so the older fairer want didn't like the game anymore and told him to fuck off.
@taurasmark I've not had them do that but they do nick socks from the wash basket or off the clothes airer. They see them as trophies.... Their nature is to be opportunistic be careful where you leave any food stuffs as they'll find a way of getting them.
nice dogs,i have a 3 legged merle old girl about 15 now and a welshsheep dog x bed greyhound.the new one is 7 months.same colour as your dog on the right.she's bloody mental
How anyone can say these dogs are ugly i will never know!! we have a lurcher as well and the whole litter was brindle apart from her, she is pure black.. Great dog but you cant bloody see her at night with the lamp.. She is like a ninja when out lamping.
I kind of figured this would be a "fight" video, just like all the "action" greyhound videos I've seen of hounds grinding away snoozing on the loveseat all day. :oP Lol. You have beautiful dogs!!!
@sj774 Video shot within a bout a month of getting the lurcher on the right. He had just about every bone in his body showing when we got him as he didn't eat much whilst he was at the rescue centre. He does get fed now I assure you.
Glad you put the last slide on :), all the way through I was thinking, they're just playing! Mutual body posture, soft expressions, taking breaks/turns etc. Too few people understand the differnec beween play and prey drives. This means my poor lurcher boy has few playmates as most think his 'style' of play is not 'sociable' - viewed on a human level, true however his dog etiquette is perfect and a more sociable dog you'd struggle to meet. Excellent video, all dogs owners should see it.
oh my god, you're just as bad as michael vick, staging these terrible dog fights... i'm sickin peta on you.
but in other news, how do saluki's interact with hearty dogs like shikoku's or elkhounds. i've got a shikoku that i take mountain climbing with me, and i'd love to have a saluki, but they seem so delicate to me. are they pretty sturdy? and can they hold their own if koda(the shikoku) dog gets a bit rowdy and starts nippin at em?
HAHAAH, very true...Dogs are dogs...I wouldn't own a dog just because they are attractive or not. Its the friendship, and love they give back...these dogs made me laugh, and that's all that counts.
so cute! its like they were playing around my grandmas dog, yorkshire terrier (that sadly passed away) and my cousens dog westland white terrier (that still lives, YAY!) use to always do that but they were best friends so they were playing
I love your dogs, I wish my dogs were still living even though I have 4 other dogs, im crying just seeing this cause I miss my dog, I remember like it was yesterday, they said they had to put him down. I'll never forget it.. Your dogs are affectionate and cute kissed them for me, tell them Barbie from youtube said hi, lol.. 5 stars!
i was just about to go balistic! but i thought id just check it out as i thought lurchers fighting never, well not dog fighting!! they are such cute beautiful dogs, i own a saluki greyhound lurcher he was rescued from kennels and is such a great dog! these are such warm beautiful loving dogs!!
Mines a six stone 3 way cross who wants to fight everything...prefered aggressive dogs like staffy or alsation..just lays into them...bigger the better...added a nasty St.Bernard who used to attack local dogs to his 'hit list' last summer.
Not brought up bad, very spoilt..what he wants he gets..whenever he wants it. Very well behaved otherwise. Getting better as he ahs got older but plenty of devil still in him.
i was just about to shower you with abuse when i saw the title of your video lol,now ive seen it i can clearly see you own 2 lovely and most importantly HAPPY dogs, its such a shame that the gypo scum of the world like to use these dogs to kill hares and when they get seen they just flee and abondon the dogs, thats why rescue centres are full of them, its nice to see someone who can give them a loving home
I was a little scared to watch this at first because of the title you gave. Im so happy that these lovely lurchers were rescued. They are so beautiful.
Its surprising how many people can't tell. Just look at their tails and the preliminary bows by the Saluki X. When we got him from the rescue centre you could tell he had never played. At 8 months he didnt know what a ball was!! He does now and he's the most obedient. Unless of course something small and furry is running away then nature takes over!
They're playing. If they weren't waging their tails, they' would be fighting.

Sj774: They are sighthounds... they are bred to run, so they are slight dogs. I would say they are in excellent shape.

If you like sighthounds, which you obviously don't, these two are very good looking Lurchers, especially the dark brindle, he's a beauty.

i don't think there ugly but not really cute sorry

Lurchers shouldnt be bred for looks, working ability is a priority.
