I recently lost my job after 10 years of hard work. I joined the Navy when I was 18 and spent 7 years in. When I got out I worked as a Bicycle mechanic for 10 years. Now I'm unemployed and am having a hard time buying the essentials i.e. rent/food/clothing. I've never had to ask for help before now. If anybody reads this could you please respond. I have been at battle with the VA over this for the past 15 years. Not being one to want to be labeled a disabled vet, I am one who wants the truth. I am able to work and I do, but I still cant explain why I am sick. Over the past 4 years my health has been getting worse and I had part of my colon removed due to diverticulitis. At 42 I am having trouble walking up stairs. The truth needs to be given to us.

@themetalchef I have the same as you plus vitiligio and headaches...cut out the wheat and dairy totally and see if you don't feel better; I have GWS and really suffer when eating those two. Also I take a supplement by Nature's Plus: SOURCE OF LIFE and am active in my church.

@MELDtoys Thanks.. I actually have regulated both for about 10 years due to weight concerns. The old saying if it is white avoid it. Mayo, bread, milk, creams etc.. But as a chef, I have to taste it. I just dont consume large amounts of it.

@themetalchef Try a diet of mostly veggies and get high amounts of potasium. I had the same problem and I and my fellow sailors were forced to take 1500MG of Pyridostigmine bromide once a month for six months. It was top secret but I was a shipboard EMT and my buddy the doc confided in me because some of the guys were having seizures and throwing up blood. you can eat one meat portion and one grain portion (oats or wheat) every third day after going veggie for one week. I felt good in 3 days.

Gulf war syndrome is likely intentional poisoning of US veterans by an enemy regime of technology inside the USA government. I think the difference here is those 30,000 went over there with the impression they would be taken care of if they came back sick. Instead our leaders swept them neatly under a rug. If no one stands up against this kind of abuse it's domed to be repeated.
Not only did they come back sick but Dr's never tried to mitigate or reduce their suffering, instead they insulted them with a bullshit diagnosis and threw them into a trash can.
They deserved better than this.
