i have the nh u 12 p mounted exactly the same way on my asus p6t as you have in this video, did you use the anti vibration strips? i did, but no matter which orientation i use to mount the fan to the cooler, theres always slight contact of the edges of the fan's plastic frame with the cooler, and i always get a quiet, yet audible and, for me, annoying vibration noise ...... -.- what can i do?
be careful though coz the Ultra 120 Extreme doesn't fit in all cases (as far as I know the Cosmos isn't wide enough for the Ultra120E) The Noctua on the other hand is a bit smaller.
Yes it should fit just about every motherboard that costs more than some very cheap board.Only problem you have to worry about is trying to fit it in the case.I got that problem.
that back of case fan needs to be facing the other way because you wanna get the heat out of your system and plus if you are gaming and have a real hot GPU all that heat flies right back in the case. even more heat comes in if you have a PSU on the bottom case too. ahoy!
Yep, it looks like rear case fan is backwards. The cpu cooler fan and case fan are blowing air at each other. So reverse the case fan and it should be better.
So if my case has the fan on the back like in this video, does that mean I dont have to install the 2nd noctua fan? Since the case fan is facing how the 2nd noctua fan (not installed), would face?
Should I install the 2nd noctua fan, or just one if oriented like the way you have it?
BTW, does that back case fan push air from outside to in? Or the opposite?
If you can help me I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks.
I also have a Noctua NH-U12P and it really rocks! Got a E6420@2,4GHz with 1,08VCore running @ around 35-40°C (95-105°F) in idle and just 45°C (115°F) in performaning mode. And the Noctua just runs @ 950rpm and very silent!
