It is something that is forced because Gilmour could never do a full, proper Floyd album without Waters and it shows. Waters does not have to try to come up with great concepts and brillient lyrics; it comes naturally. Gilmour has to get his wife to write the lyrics and they are still poor. Still, most of the masses were convinced and the bucks rolled in...thats all that matters....

This is a truely wonderful amazing song (along with many others) that has not got the reconition they deserve, although Rogers recent output has been disappointing - nothing since the brilliant 'Amused to Death' so many years ago - anybody know why?
He spent the majority of his time between 1992 and 2005 writing (and re-writing) his classical music album Ca Ira released in 2005. He was also touring in the late 90's and the early Millennium as a solo act (the DVD and CD "In the flesh" was recorded from that concert). He also recorded a few new songs released on his compulation CD Flickering Flame volume 1 in 2002 and the singles to kill the child and leaving Beirut in 2003. That's why as far as I know.

This is a truely wonderful amazing song (along with many others) that has not got the reconition they deserve, although Rogers recent output has been disappointing - nothing since the brilliant 'Amused to Death' so many years ago - anybody know why?

He spent the majority of his time between 1992 and 2005 writing (and re-writing) his classical music album Ca Ira released in 2005. He was also touring in the late 90's and the early Millennium as a solo act (the DVD and CD "In the flesh" was recorded from that concert). He also recorded a few new songs released on his compulation CD Flickering Flame volume 1 in 2002 and the singles to kill the child and leaving Beirut in 2003. That's why as far as I know.

Thanks for replying - I did know all of that, I'm just disappointed we have no new rock albums from Roger since ATD. Could it be that all his work has been of such an high standard and with him being such a perfectionist - he would find it too much to live up to? Knumnut

Well I think so then again those songs from the singles CD and his compilation are great works of art too. Maybe he can make another album but not be successful at it.

what a beautiful song.... such wonderful melody and lyrics.....i heard that roger gave the rest of the band a choice of either doing pros and cons or the wall as a "Floyd" album, and well, the rest is history.... roger's songwriting and clapton's guitar still made this a lovely album though!!

This man should not be in his own music videos. He wanted to play Pink in The Wall but his screen tests were so bad the film company wouldn't let him. That's pretty bad.

I am totaly agree with you, Roger waters is a philosopher and a poet of our times... But its a pity at the same time...... all great men must die to be valorate... I mean world wide vaoloration. Nevertheless, there are some thousands who loves him so much. Me personally, his music save me in so many ocassions.
