Mr Bowie has at least 2 shows recorded on video of this tour problem is that one of them at Madison Square Gardens the artist has to pay at least 25% of the broadcast takings hence no release well maybe now that the lost Jean Genie Top of the Pops video has been found and broadcast on the BBC 2 DAYS AGO he may change his mind.
WOW! January '74! I had no idea this most plastic soul of the plastic soul songs was conceived so early! Rebel Rebel had only just been released and his latest Album at that point was Pin-ups!
I think it had just been written and recorded and this was probably on of the last shows of the soul tour thats why it was only performed once. To bad tgough that he hasnt brought it back since it is one of his most sincere songs
Great, thanks for posting this! Been looking for the cd of this particular show half my life (I know it's out there somewhere) just for this wonderful song.
I saw him twice in one day for the Diamond Dogs show, in David's fave town,,,you guessed it Toronto ,Canada....and he and Iman were here last week for the shooting of the episodes for Canada's Top Designer'...I met David twice and have seen him over 30 times...he is s uper funny, really funny man and a great listener...you speak to him,he looks right into your eyes until you are finished...real respect. Cheers everyone!

Dude, you've posted this on another thread. I saw him during this period tour also, so its not like its a rare thing. I appreciate and support your enthusiasm but you aren't the only one who connected with Bowie back in the day.
Looks like i'm outside the concert, unlucky am i...Cannot get inside, ...sold out..But still i have the chance to hear the music through...Very frustrating !...Thanks for this won-der-full post.I dedicate it to Luther Vandross, wich was introduced to Bowie by Carlos Alomar That remembered the old days with the Shades of Joy..
He visited Atlanta twice on this tour with the last time being the date you reference here. Of course this was the so called "philly dogs" leg of the tour with Carlos Alomar and Earl Slick on guitar whereas before the break it was just Earl and much more of a rock n' roll affair.

Our favourite Bowie track. We'd imagine very hard to do live, hence not performed hardly ever!

Moved to Atlanta in 75, did get to see Elton John and Zappa at the Omni tho... Bowie keeps expanding, amazing to witness, thoroughly genius.
