  • on the 9887 where do u plug ur ipod into?

  • Thanks for the demo. I bought three Apine 9887 units for my cars, and am trying to learn how to use all the controls!

  • Comment removed

  • mmhhmm good taste in music =]

  • does anyone know if the 9886 changes colors like this one??? like with the green buttons???

  • you've got a lot of good rap on your Ipod

  • have you tested this HU with an iphone?

does it reads ok and charge it? thanx

  • is the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X993 better than the CDA 9886 Alpine or no?

im wondering which one to get

and i dont have an Ipod i have a Zune

  • Yep, Juss looked in a magazine and i liked both wa wondering which one to get

  • how u set it to skip through the artist like tht?

  • you hit the bottom preset buttons and it goes thru artists by percentage

  • what kind of Ipod is that your using? I need one for my 9887 BUT I can't find anywhere if the 5th Gen Nano's work or not.

  • it works but no charging. you need KCX-422TR

  • i have the CDA 9887 but I cant find where to connect my AUX cable to play my ipod music. help plz

  • it doesnt connect with aux dickhead

  • it can connect with aux but you need an adapter

  • every portable mp3 player known to mankind can play through aux, its called a male stereo plug to RCA. Male stereo plug being the kind that is a headphone jack, you split the signal into left and right channels (red and white ends usually) and you can connect it to pretty much any aux-in of a car stereo.

no need to be an ass.

  • use the usb cable dipwad

  • what is the usb cable for??? and where do i connect it

  • @guhjoh you have to buy an adapter separate check out like crutchfeld or sonicelectronix it will be on the accesories page

  • Anyone knows if this model works with the iPhone 3G and if so does it charge it as well?

  • does this alpine come with the remote control or do you have to buy one??

  • it includes the alpine remote in your purchase...

    hope this helps your question.

good luck I have this model and its awsome I like the sound that comes from this unit..

    An alpine happy user.

    bye

  • comes with one

  • can i get some help. i got this radio. how to i get it to play from my zune?

  • it cant

  • youll have to use the auxiliary input and get a male stereo to rca cable. Not sure if this unit uses the AI-net but if so, youll need that adapter so that it can hook up RCA plugs.

all your controls will be done from the zune, and its best to set the EQ settings on the zune to FLAT and let the deck control the EQs, otherwise you might get clipping and distortion from your speakers.

  • I also saw Cunninlynguists passing by

    that's cool..

I intend to buy this radio, I guess you are happy with it?

  • Guess that the Millions of ZUNE Users out there (myself Included) will have to wait on Aftermarket Headunits that supports the Device Drivers & Software of the ZUNE...it's sorta like how the Satellite Radio wars began how certain makers supported XM others supports SIRIUS then they ALL just came "SAT READY" and you could use whatever u wanted. I see the same for what's not ONLY ipod control on Car Receivers. LOVE THE video!

  • use get the 9886 and use a usb flash drive lol

  • zune is stupid, ipods are stupid. stick to cds. quality at its best.

  • What's good Pulseboy?

I'm going to play the Devil's Advocate and I do agree with you...that alot of tmes the QUALITY of music is lost when it's converted and compressed...I know there are LOSSLESS ways of Ripping CD's to your Computer's HDD but they take up more Storage Space. I too was late to the Media Player world of ZUNE, iPod and other mp3 players. But to have your precious stuff preserved and so much music on tap it's amazing. NOTHING beats the Original Source like a MASTER COPY.

  • all of the cds that i bought are on my ipod losslessly, so its better than MP3. I just find it very inconvenient to carry hundreds of CD's in my car. on top of that i like to use playlists.

  • I've never used LOSSLESS ripping. What's the Sampling rate of lossless? Oh and with that Zune Social that I was telling you about...Microsoft allows you to post your ZUNE CARD (which is your online ID of who you are/screen name where you're from, fav artist MOST played and Recently played) u can post them on your favorite Social site like Myspace, Facebook whatever you choose. VERY neat feature after you SYNC ur device(update plays). I would surely have you on my friends list for digging PR & CL

  • ummo rate depends on the song from what i can see. it ranges from 700 t1200 or so. The only problem however is you arent using the Internal DAC of the HU, u are using the sub-par processor of the ipod.

  • Just get an AUX cable bro, plug it in with that, have a charger urself and ur set....

  • Thanks playa,

I've got AUX cables...who with an mp3 player doesn't!?!? *LMAO* Also got the Car Charger too. But to use BOTH that's having 2 different cords in a vehicle, for 1 Device!?! WHO wants that kinda wired mess? I'm happy with my audio equip & luv my Microsoft Zune. But highly await when it can be CONTROLLED (safer not to fool with the stereo & Zune separately while driving), CHARGED & enjoy a Lossless Audio Signal via USB connection. The AUX input is good to me for now.

  • I'm really digging this video!?!? OMG I got excited when I seen Pete Rock & CL Smooth appear on your screen but I never figured that you would ENTER into that file content..and then u picked one of my favorite albums from Pete Rock & CL..with the MAIN INGREDIENT!?!? Great video indeed. You've gotta be up on your Hip-Hop game to play material from PR & CL... 5 Stars! Too bad that the Alpine doesn't have control via USB for the Microsoft ZUNE!?!? =(

  • heh thanks man! finally someone with good taste in hip-hop. need to spread the awesomeness any way i can ya know? Actually CL smooth is my favorite rapper like of all time. PR just completes the package for me. Favorite producer goes to Nicolay. Agreed. i think Main ingredient is the best the duo has put out. Mecca was good, but Main ingredient was just a lot more polished and CL smooth's rapping had a heckuva lot more swagger to it. thanks again 1 luv jah bless =P

  • do u have to b uy the imprint system to make it sound good or equalize the sound?

  • nope comes with:

    # Time Correction: Built-In Time Correction

    # Equalizer: Built-In Graphic/Parametric Equilizer

    # Crossover: Built-In High-Pass/Low-Pass Crossover

  • Bad thing about 9887 is you have to drop additional 200 dollars just to get the Imprint for full EQ bands

  • Amazing
