Hi Val, I have posted a previous message saying I was learning this piece. Having now developed it a little am now wondering do you conciously make bass note stops throughout? The score indicates, in most cases, a one note beat, should stops be used to hold this true to value? Cheers...Dave.
On a modern guitar, with high tension strings and nail playing, you should stop as notes rings loud and long, but here with an old guitar, low tension strings and no nails I don't do it.
I'm first a lutenist, and the right hand technic I'm using is lute technic, sometimes I'm playing a little bit of guitar for my pleasure, but I didn't change my technic. That's all.
My opinion : music is important, technic is only a tool. ;-)
This is really lovely. You have an interesting right-hand technique - it's almost as if you pluck the strings from underneath - is this a more period/authentic way playing?
yes because in the fingering was i-m-i-m-i-m-i-m on the same string while the other fingers work, My master wanted that fingering ,but m-m-m-m-m-m or i-i-i-i-i-i was easier for me.
Merci beaucoup,

There came a time when the heavens parted, and the righteous hand of god cast over the earth to find a man to play guitar.
I cannot stress how mad your skills are.

And I guess god may better try to end wars than to spend time about guitar...
Anyway, thanks for the kind words !

Is it harder to play a lute or a guitar?
I would like to play lute but learning guitar at the moment
myguitarbuzz 2 years ago 2
Lute is a little bit harder because of double strings. But if you play guitar you can also play lute.

My technic is lute technic (as I'm first a lutenist...) Playing guitar is just for fun...
But perhaps some people at the pre romantic period could have play like this, who knows...
