  • スウェーデンに帰ってからも、時々ビデオを作って下さいネ

    お願いします。

  • Ya im agree with khalitz6 tell us more about how u got there????

  • Hey Emma, I've been following your videos for awhile, and been wondering what program you used to study abroad in Japan? Was it a program through a University/College or a program anyone could sign up for?

Also what would you say the living/food expenses were after living there a year? I know Japan is more expensive to live than most places, but I would like to know an estimate of how much I would need to save up to do the same thing as you.

    Thanks for any answers! :)

  • Gosh. I've always wanted to learn Japanese (esp. classical japanese, to read older literature) but I'm not sure how well I'd do with ideograms. Learning a different alphabet isn't so bad, ancient Greek was pretty easy to learn, but symbology just intimidates me, I think. How long would you say it took you to master the first few symbols, and does it get easier with time? I'd love to learn Japanese and visit Japan again some day--I'm dying to see Kyoto, which would prob. be my favorite.

  • @jessytysh Korean is easier? Of course I'll come back to Japan ^^

  • Bummer on having to sell the Xbox.. I went without mine after it red ringed just before I moved back to Canada from the US and was not pleased not one bit. Still have issues with my US Live account vs a Canadian one. This went on too long. Anyway. Have a safe trip back. Love seeing you post your vids

  • @Tarpo hehe I feel you :)

  • 完全マスター2級文法! My favorite textbook of all time, perhaps. Haha! May not have a story, but impeccably organized and very useful. For JLPT and for real-world reading. Eemmaファイト! 合格できるよ!

  • I hope you didn't spend too much time playing video games during your stay. Oh, and are you going to buy Battlefield 3 whenever it's gonna be released? I mean, you ARE Swedish... :P

  • It's a pity you'll miss midsummer

  • i teach you one kimoji

  • Thanks so much Eemma, these videos are really fun. I always enjoy my Japanese TV shows in the States, but it's even nicer to see a real perspective of Japan. :D

  • This was posted on my birthday, but DeXimE makes me so jealous

  • @southwest702 Happy BDay! xD

  • @DeXimE thanks alot

  • Where did you find those awesome small flashcards? I could definitely use them for Arabic. I guess I could make them lol...

  • @freeleafinthewind If you have an iPhone/iPod touch you should check out my friends app, same thing as the cards I use. It gets annoying after a while, I have piles of those cards. His app will be released soon :) simplecardsapp(dot)com

  • What made you want to pursue to learn japaneese?

  • Hope you had a fun time while traveling/studying eeeeeeeema. Takes a lot of effort to learn a new language.. especially a tough one. Good work.

A good looking young woman, who speaks 3+ languages, and probably other skills (not limited to impeccable fashion sense and amazing nail design:).. won't be hard to find a job with that going for you.

  • your at prestige 9!! im a freak at blackops!! lol i went all the way to 15! im also a gamer chic!! ahaha.

  • @mckrackin19 *high fives*

  • @jeshickahx Cool :D

  • I studied French in High School for 2 years and never met anybody after that who spoke French! That's the USA for you. I hope you have better luck.

  • @jumpnjflash haha but... isn't that obvious, you're not in france. I don't expect to meet any japanese ppl in sweden.

  • You probably get sick of hearing this all the time, but you're really beautiful.... interesting video by the way.

  • Good luck on that test and when you get home you get to show off your skills to your friends and family by taking them out for sushi and ordering in Japanese, like a boss! :D

  • Are you a Call of Duty lifer, or are you going to pick up Battlefield 3 when it comes out?

  • @CatchFlipsidE LOVE COD! But I will definitely check out Battlefield too!!

  • Wow a year went by quick, great memories! Congrats!

  • @FreeCong Thanks :)

  • xbox 360 is for boys not girl

  • @mrvideouploads1 hahah I'd kick you ass big time.

  • The wallpaper in your room is really cool =)

  • Show your Black Ops skills, i'm not convinced about last 40 sec :). You dont seem like a gamer, especially after the starcraft episode.

  • @razzraziel She kicks ass in COD, trust me. The video about SC was misunderstood by most... You really think she would go there or even know what it is if she wasn't a gamer? ;P

  • @razzraziel That's a computer game. I don't play anything on the computer. Hey, at least I know what the game is?

  • @Eemma ok fair enough

  • So what is your Japanese name right now? In case I am in Tokyo one day, who should I ask for?

  • @Vatsek My japanese name?

  • @Eemma Yes.

  • love you emma!!

    peace

    xx

  • thanks so much for sharing, i always wanted to know what kinds of things you're learning.

  • Hey emma, i am from sweden! but what is youre connection to it? Because i noticed that you've scribbled in english - so do you have to write in english at school or is english your native language? and hey what part of sweden are you from?

  • @Kugel22 I'm Swedish. I live in Sweden. Well the dictionary I use is from japanese to english. So it's more handy to just write it all in english. :)

  • What language(s) do you find yourself thinking with most now? When I did some Japanese courses on my own before I found myself thinking of objects by their Japanese names sometimes, so I always wondered how that would be for someone who becomes more fluent in another language. Especially when they know multiple ones.

  • You seem to understand Japanese fairly well after a year of studying.

Is the part of learning all the symbols that makes learning Japanese so difficult?

  • Vilket år är du född? :D

  • @Josefsson9013 1987!

  • Hey, how old r u?? i was wondering because i want to go to study in japan but im alrdy 18 yrs old, but im not rdy to moce yet (need more money) so is there a maximum age to study there??

  • @Oopsimadeapoo hahah what.... 18, that's almost TOO young :P I'm 24. At my school the minimum age is 16, no maximum.

  • Okay, I'm going to say it. It's all Greek to me! Hahahaha… Very admirable, Eemma!

  • Raaadical nails!! And Blops? Boo. Go with Halo ;D

  • The wood in the background creeps me out. Theyre like eyes...

  • Why is there hangul written on your kanji papers?

  • might be of interest: learnjapanesepod.c om/howtolearnjapanese

  • "oh this is the grammar book... I'm stupid!"

you made me laugh with that one... :)

  • what are your 5 favorite japanese movies?

  • Hot gamer chick!! i dind't know, call Toby Turner!!

  • =) you are really amazing for going to Japan and learning the language, I'm impressed and inspired:)

  • Like a fung~

  • Are you going back for a another year? Maybe you can go to a electronice store or something and sell it (if you would have to sell in last minute)

  • I'm gonna miss your japan-videos!! :)

  • Comment removed

  • You play CoD? Marry me!

  • Excuse me if you get asked about it very often, but... Why did you decide that you need to learn japanese? Are you going to live in Japan in future? It can't be just for yourself, I think. Too much work. :)

  • It's been a year already? It feels like it was only a year ago you went there.

  • Well English has to be the easiest language on earth. Conjugation, grammar, vocabulary... If my mother language was english i think i would have struggled a lot more to master other language.

Keep up the good work emma! What's your first name actually? Emmanuelle?

  • @SasK07 English is actually one of the more difficult languages to learn as a second language...This is mostly due to the abundance of silent letters, and strange, non-intuitive pronunciations. If you look at other common languages, like spanish or french for example, they don't have as many silent letters, vowels are always pronounced the same (in spanish at least), and most words are spelled exactly as they sound etc.

  • @esotericagenda Like many languages you have to "hear" (meet) the words to pronounce them well, so this not a big issue, it comes with practice. I'm not sure if you've practiced French or Spanish, but if you put just a accent on a letter (vowel for instance) and it's a completely different phonetic, tense, person or even word. From my personal experience, i'm actually french, English has been the simplest language i had to learn (out of 4).

  • @esotericagenda Even though, Spanish and French share a common latin legacy, i've still found Spanish harder than english... A lot of people, i know, feel the same.

I speak French fluently but i still find it hard sometimes, because of silent letters, tense/grammatical agreement, barely use tense... A lot of things that are absent in English and makes it easier. (conjugation is a good example).

  • @SasK07 WTF, I'm not a guy :P My name is Emma. haha. You can't really say that any language is easier than some other without considering where you're from. For me, english is super easy. Not for japanese ppl.

  • @Eemma Emmanuelle is for girls where i live, Emmanuel however (with this spelling) is a man's name. The same goes for Manuel (boy), Manuelle (girl), Raphel, Raphelle, etc... My little sister's name is Emmanuelle and we just call her Emma... I clearly see that you're a woman, a pretty one actually;)

Anyway, i came to the conclusion that english is easy because of my experience and the one of people i know. But i can understand that for some that's different but again with the the mondialisation..

  • @SasK07 English is actually really hard to learn, since it is weird mix of latin, german, celtic and baltic. The thing that makes it easy is that everyone is bombarded with it everywhere they go. But as Emma said if you can draw from what you know learning a new language with common roots is quite easy. I went to japan in 2nd year of high school and didn't know a word. And you are so lost. Nothing makes sense and nothing you know from danish(where I'm from), english, swedish, spanish is any use.

  • I am moving to Osaka in about a months time for a year plus, so watching your videos has been truly fun so far. Of course I am not taking this as a benchmark as to what to expect and / or do while I am in Japan - but you know what I mean haha. I hate FPS but if you were to take my PS3 and SSF4AE away from me for a week... I'd probably start speaking to imaginary friends as soon as my real friends go home lol I passed Level 3 last year, it's not hard - you'll do fine I am sure of it! Good luck :D

  • awesome! Are you going back to Japan later on to continue studying? How will you finish your studies?

  • @jnf0x It's a long term goal. It takes maaany years to become fluent in Japanese.

  • What's the goal when you master the language?

  • @xXAd4MXx Business/career wise I want to be able to use it somehow in the future. Long term goal :)

  • @Eemma and of course, it's a fun hooby!

  • wow how did u learn to speak English so fluently and with such a good American accent? I suppose you speak Swedish too. I think im in love. lol

  • I don't know how you do it!!! That sounds so hard!!! Great video

  • What do You think was harder, learning English or Japanese? Not counting learning to write.

  • @sirtoki Japanese WITHOUT A DOUBT!! :P

  • @Ben7Roethlisberger I'm not in China. If they even do that there...

  • @Eemma sure sure, enjoy your last tiger penis meal ;)

  • your chinese hand writing is looking pretty good, keep it up

  • YES! You have all reason to be proud, you did a great job! I'm proud of you ^^

And why not talk Japanese? Come on, I've heard you like 4 months ago and it already sounded great. You *MUST* do at least 1 video in Japanese before you leave xD Woohooo I saw me too lol ^^

PS: Great video, far from boring muppet ;P

  • @DeXimE Thanks ^^ yeyeyey at some point I'll speak japanese!
