@IrnMaiden304 Yes, they did mess up; it's a Mazda Miata (what Mazda now calls the MX5) so anyone who knew anything about these cars should have caught that blunder. Mazda doesn't even make a V6, they borrow one from Ford for the Mazda6 (which is why I didn't buy one). If all that was too much to ask of the dubbers,,,,durrrrr, look at the screen! You can see 4 F#$king ITB's.. Arrrrrgh. Anyway the point of this battle is to pit Tak against a simular car (so the V6 doesn't make any sense).

LOL I love how at 16:00, the guy with the Miata says that he has a V6 when you can clearly see the engine has 4 cylinders. I was kinda having a weird feeling because I have never heard of a V6 Miata, would be pretty sweet if you think about it. Could be a good race with a VW VR6. From what I can see there are only 4 spark plug wires going into a DOHC engine.

@Jay18Jay Yeah, as I was telling this other viewer on here, Mazda doesn't seem to want a V6 car of their own (V6 powered Mazda 6's use a Ford motor). It's my guess that they are sticking with the light & agile deal and leaving the V6 game to Nissan's legendary VQ motor. Mazda will try rotaries, they will give you a direct-injected turbo I4 at a steal-of-a-price,,,just don't ask for a V6.

Funimation did good with the dub, but the engine is wrong...either by the original creators or the Dub was wrong.... The engine shown is the 1.6L inline 4..... not a V-6...I don't think mazda made 1.6L V6

The V6 Miata dub flub is not the fault of the translators. Thats how it was recorded in Japanese. I speak Japanese, and V6 is what was said in the Japanese version. It's totally wrong ofcourse. everyone should know that the Miata is a 4 cylinder. So the fault actually lies with the Japan production team, not the translators. Really not a big deal though.

Initial D is very... How to say it... Traditional? Everything from the art style to the animation (excluding the CG sections) to the dialogue is very traditional anime and traditional Japan.

The dub is actually quite good, but that's probably why it doesn't fit. It's semi-relaxed and mundane whereas the anime itself is very rigid and conservative (ironically, since it's about illegal street racing). It's a pretty odd case.

The dubs aren't that bad really, they are actually pretty audible and don't make your ears bleed. But what was a slap to the face was of course "1600 V6".... couldn't they just say C.C.? The car is clearly a freaking 4 cylinder engine.

I guess that car enthusiast like myself get inexplicably offended by this kind of mistakes.... oh well.
