references are just a little thank you to fans for watching the show in years gone by, I wasn't even born when Liz was a companion but it takes no time to search for a few clips and know who she was.
i really don't get why ppl rag ont he show when it references past continuity like this. So what if only fans are gonna get it if i wans't a fan it would just be a funny moment, it dos no harm.
@mdtalley no it didnt it started in the 2nd episode, when the dr wasn't invited to that meeting thing and he showed the alien the paper and said im the dr and this is rose tyler my +1
@grahamlaur There was some good music in Remembrance of the Daleks when Ace escaped the science lab while under attack from a Dalek. I agree though, any time I hear that synthesized drum beat, no matter where it is the worst of the 80's and early 90's comes to mind.
If you want bad Doctor Who music though, look up the Doctor/master sword fight with Pertwee/Delgado. I'm not sure it qualified as music.
@tf2whackyengineer The thing about Dudley Simpson's Pertwee scores was that they were hilariously cheesy in their badness. I actually like them. The worst music of the Mccoy era is just cheap, depressing, and intrusive. I recall a reasonably moody theme in "Curse of Fenric." I will revisit "Remembrance" and see if you are correct.
@grahamlaur Alright. :) tell me what you think. It's a bit generic, but it actually suits the scene and is slightly catchy, at least the bass beat is. The silly drum machine sounds like fake clapping.
Oh also, the music playing on the radio before it is silly bad.
For those of you watching this and are just as confused as Ace, Elizabeth "Liz" Shaw was the first companion to serve the the Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee). She only appeared in 4 serials though; the first four serials of the Third Doctor era (in other words, season 7). She was portrayed by Caroline John, who would reprise the role for the 20th aniversary special and the 30th aniversary special.

When did they get psychic paper? Did it start with Christopher Eccelston?
misterplatypus96 6 months ago
@misterplatypus96 Yes and no. It started with Captain Jack using it on the Doctor.

I miss Liz Shaw. She was a good foil for the Third Doctor. Jo Grant was awesome though.

They'd better hurry. At the end they got Prince's drum machine from "Purple Rain" following them!

@tf2whackyengineer that's a fantastic cliffhanger, first of all... somebody knew how to shoot an action sequence!
I can merely give average marks to the music. It is trying to sound very "exciting" but is still too obviously synthesized to be taken seriously.

@tf2whackyengineer The Sea Devils music by Malcome Clarke was a total classic! Love that stuff!
