Yes,..I remember thhis when I was watching TV and listening to American Top 40 on the radio,...I was a sophomore in high school back then,....I was really into this top 40 thing,..WOW,..!!!!!
Samantha didn't sing that song; it is mostly the Bee-Gees sanging and singing for Samantha Sang. The whole SNF record dominated the singles charts, I expected more from the album...
Real songs with real meanings, not like the rap crap ou there now! OK, I'm old! I was 12 in 1978! What fun memories! Had my first alarm/clock radio then, listened to it all the time! Had sleepovers with my three freinds down the street, and we would listen to the local radio station (KIDD AM 630) from Monterey late at night, we had fun!
What a horrible year for music.

Golden age in music, a fountain of beautiful melodies, spread in every way in Russia. I was punished for it.

Everyone did, because their vocals drown hers out for most of the song.

1978. When you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing a song sung and/or written and/or produced by a Gibb brother. :D

And this was after "How Deep Is Your Love" fell out of the Top after 17 weeks, when the Gibb Brothers had 5 songs in the Top 10!
