Ahhhhh .... thank you so much for posting this. This is awesome! Gorgeous, so much energy. Love it!!! So far removed from the caricatures they became. If only lay music fan's could see these kind of clips, they would soon realise that their was a lot more to KISS, "back in the day!" x
@jeishein Peter always fucked up the drums no matter what. He didn't have the mentality to remember how to play the song the same time and time agian. He knew certian parts, but that's it, the rest was him going off filling time. Sure, drugs played a part, but even if he were clean, he'd still mess up and play it differently. This is why the majority of the drum tracks on KISS albums are always played by a ghost drummer who could do it the same way each take.
I wish that nick simmons keeps the spirit of KISS alive after gene retires it would be really awsome if nick is able to to make KISS popular with the young people...
Go petee!! you are one Hip Top Cat ! Still waiting for that swing cd ! When ever I am having a bad drumming day,and feel like I don't want to play,I just watch stuff like this, and it makes me feel better ,and want to play ,and have fun !! wich is why I do it in the first place... Thanks Man .
he was the man! the driving rhythmic force. other drummers came after, who could 'out-play' him TECHNICALLY, but none of that matters. his was an energy and free spirit that was never equaled. GO CAT-MAN!
What the hell was it about the 70's? Meaning, why is this so fucking RAD and now...well...you see what I'm saying. Still lots of killer music going on... but these dudes were HUGE. I gotta say most "rock"
that's as popular as this was then now ..... wuss-city in comparison.
Regardless of what anyone says, before Peter Criss left the band [or kicked out] they were at there best. Onstage they were and still are the best, but they were magic in the 70's and early 80's!
This was the very first concert I ever saw, the first of close to a thousand, and this will always be my favorite. Thank you for posting this! Any more from this concert?
deffinetley gene because when gene first started in 1973/4 he nailed nothin to lose and when does does it just isn't the same but that is just my opinion

Peter fuckin up the drum part big time...drugs...
jeishein 1 year ago
@jeishein Pete wasn't ever doing drugs. At least not at this time. His addiction was Alcohol. Not drugs. Actually Pete was sober on this tour.

Peter in the middle of the song says, "shake it one time for Fritz." Think he's refering to Fritz The Cat... I think so!!!!

It's sort of sad as many great shows as were done there that Cobo Hall is now or soon will be gone.

I think Gene said it best. "The Rock and Roll Hall of fame can Kiss his Ass".

They are in their prime here, just before Peter and Ace started to cause problems and the original line up ended.
robertnobody 2 years ago
I think paul caused problems by writing a disco song and losing half of the kiss army in 1979..it wasnt all ace and peter
