always cry when I seen this movie and always this scene. if you listen really close to the opening of the score to star trek next generation you can hear something akin to the beginning of this score, you need headphones to detect all the sounds.

As a musician myself I have to say that this movie was one of my less favorites. it was a indeed a touching drama, but the music would've been better if it was more simply beautiful. its too complex, and film-score-esque. it feels contrived. plus I am annoyed by the general publics penchant for movies that center on musical prodigies. why can't Hollywood ever make a music movie about someone who isn't "greater than mozart"? ah well... it's not a bad movie, besides that. ignore my whining.

One of my favorite endings to a movie ever. I've rewatched the scene where Louis first sees Lyla over and over. I love how he follows her through the crowd, appears by her side, and after he takes her hand, she gives him that little smile. Such a sweet moment.
