They use melee weapons most of the time but some times guns. They are smarter than zombies. I'm getting the game today actually, but i've looked up what its about. If i'm not mistaken, it's some kind of madness.

Although it was fun, and quiet scary, i was pissed off at the ending. The game never was one for story. And never gave much explanation as to what was causing the city to go to hell so quickly. Just got the second one, hope it answers some questions.

this game actually realized what makes a game scary. It gave you realistic enemies (psycho bums with no motive), gave you barely anything to defend yourself with (guns take away all fear), and messed with your mind (hallucinations, and good ol mr tibbits). Unfortunately towards the end the enemies got all supernatural (and dont get me started on condemned 2...) but 1 really captured it.

And if they get around to making 3 i think theres too much damage control needed so its kind of a write off.

@Acquisto I like your comment but there is one game that captures that feeling even better its called amnesia the dark descent. You have nothing to defend yourself with so you have to hide and you go insane and you hallucinate every once in a while. Also it has been rated by some as the scariest game of all time (not my personal opinion i think one of the penumbra's are scarier)

Perfect Dark Zero, you can also find the original N64 Perfect Dark on the Xbox live Market place. I've heard Gears of War is good. Bioshock is very good. fighting wise, there really isn't anything over the top exclusive wise,

What a surprising game. Picked this up in the bargain bin and it turned out to be one of the most atmospheric and scary games I've played. It's weapon system attempts to innovate as well. Need a weapon? Pull that pipe off the wall or grab that plank on the floor ;) The detective elements were really neat, but also very weak... was hoping for more investigation, but still, the inclusion of them didn't hurt anything. The second game was a wash for me, but I highly recommend the first.

If you like first person perspective, prefer shooters but like it a little slow paced and enjoy a good atmosphere with suspense and scary shock moments then this is your game. I also very much liked the detective work with the photo camera, UV light and i think there was some other stuff, it feels natural. And honestly, the trailer doesn't do the gameplay justice. U use mostly melee weapons, guns n' ammo is short in supply. The fights have a nice smooth dynamic.Overall very good.

I quite liked the game. But it gets a little boring because the levels are very similar. You always have to fight lunatics in some dark derelict blocks. Also, it is never explained why Ethan has the powers and what about the dead birds?

@floriasn - Yes, i think u can. Go in Options,Sound settings and make sure to put the"Enable HW Mixing" and "Enable EAX 2.0" to Off. I had the same problems and after i put this 2 settings to Off, the sound works perfectly. Hope it works for u too.

Its all good man. Criminal Origins is the first game in the series and it came out around the same time the xbox 360 was released. If you want the second game try to find Condamned: Bloodshot.

This game was so scary and so horrible that it belongs to one of my greatest games list.

The fact that this game doesn't have any zombies, vampires or other kinds of monsters makes it scarier. Its all psychopathic junkies, killers and murderers all trying to get you. The atmosphere of each level is amazing and you always have to be on your toes.

@THEAWSOMEHOBO1 Nope, Condemned 2: Bloodshot is almost as scary as the first Condemned the first half of the game, then after that it is more of a shooter. Condemned Criminal Origins and Amnesia is the scariest games I've played. Condemned 2 comes after Condemned 1. Condemned Criminal Origins got much more disturbing events that is extremely creepy, some of them really feels like real nightmares. For example, finding a body on a playground, when you approach the body you realise it is you.
