  • thumbs up if you never even bothered listening to the remake :)

  • Someone told me I look like Coco, today, lol, so I had to come take a look. I didn't even know there was a Fame television series!

  • Jon cozart sent me here, search him, his cover is amazing, thank me later:)

  • Damn , i wanna go to the 80's so bad ( :

  • What's the girl's name in the green and yellow? In one episode she played Leroy's girlfriend.

  • I apologize for the fact that I wasn't born when this was out....

Sorry that I cannot relate to what they look like and wear.

Im a 21st century teen. I can relate to the newer Fame.

OBVIOUSLY nothing can beat orginals to ANYTHING! so stop stating the obvious.

  • Nice to hear it finally again!

Sorry, Irene Cara - fans, but to me, this is the Best version of the "Fame" song.

(I cringe at the end of Irene's "forever", the "er" sounds wrong ....)

  • I think the problem with me is I like to see other peoples dream come true and not my own.

  • i luv this song. its so catchy

  • why flashdance always come to my mind when I see this fame good show footage? why?

  • @luchoq77 cause Fame and Flashdance, the original song were sung by the same artist, The Wonderful Irene Cara. She has the best voice ever

  • Cantaba muy bien ésta niña, pero nunca se comparará con la original Coco de la película original, Irene Cara es única en voz y talento;)

  • @b1naqm28 Forget it.

  • @b1naqm28 It was a joke, for gods sake?

  • Comment removed

  • @b1naqm28 I know. That's called sarcasm, it means you say one thing, but mean another, or you say something, but your not THAT serious. And you call me idiot...

  • this was at a time when television really was worth watching......the fantastic 80's....

  • @b1naqm28 Yeah it's called Fame.. ;)

  • Yeah

  • best song ever!

  • Leroy always had the worst outfits... short shorts over sweats, macrame shirts...

  • @b1naqm28

    He was just a random.

  • Debbie Allen looks so fly here...love the outfit too. 80s fashion was the best!

  • Love Coco. I can have her for breakfast.

  • How can I find this song? I can't find it, please help.

  • How do I find this song??? Please help.

  • best video quality i've seen so far on youtube!!

    thanks.

  • They really need to bring back the series!!! So this kids could see whats really a good wholesome show!!!

  • @Elda122

You know it had hookers, drug addiction... and that's just the first season.

  • I really liked the Fame TV series but the movie Coco,Irene Cara really belted out Fame better than Erica Gimpel.

  • @Allinmoderation88 Gene Anthony Ray was an awesome self taught dancer. In the 70s and 80's we really did not question his sexuality. Both men and women wore the short shorts and the athletic knee socks. If you don't believe google old pictures of the NBA and see how short their shorts were.

  • i love Leroy [ RIP Anthony Ray]

  • The first Fame is the only Fame

  • i am not 100% certain if Gene Anthony Ray(Leroy) was gay, but I "think" he was. He died of AIDS, or an AIDS related illness a while ago. Just because that was how he dies does not make him gay, but that is what killed him.

This was a GREAT movie, and an OK TV show. The movie really showed NYC at the time, and boy, was it a DUMP and kinda scary place back in the late 70's and early 80's. Not the NYC that there is today by no means.

Not that NYC does not have bad places now, not like the

  • @brounbuck Gene Anthony was infected with HIV which as we know from education that it does not always lead to AIDS. Anyway the cause of death was actually a stroke but depending on his viral load he may have been able to live longer if he was not battling addictions to drugs.

  • It was such a great series. Loved watching it as a kid. Still have the cassette tape of the soundtrack. I remember practicing my 'cool moves' in my garden while listening to it lol!

  • the old fame is the shit, screw the new stuff!!!

  • it just wasn't the same after irene cara left. Erika gimple was ok though

  • @FEMMEAQUA She didn't leave she was unavailable before the TV series started.

    Thanks xx

  • Bruno was and still is so gorgeous!

  • who sign it?

  • @Mayra0430 who sing it?

  • @Mayra0430 Mayra the singer ( she is also the actress in the film Coco) is Irene Cara

  • this is what happens when you die

  • Love this song and the ORIGINAL Fame.

  • Was the old fame film different to the series? cause this bits not in the film lmao :)

  • ok. we all know bruno liked coco, right? How come they never got together! they would have been the cutest couple

  • Damn Debbie Allen could kick high! LMAO!! I loved Fame.

  • I use to watch this when i was 8 years old.

I whanted to be one of them in new york. The brings back memories.

  • 1000 times better than the new one... this is epic

  • I do LOVE the old Fame songs by FAR! The New Fame 2009 is ALL young kids from High School (YUCK) NOT college kids ! Maybe the new young people my go and see the ALL NEW FAME 2009 BUT the old folk who REALLY like older songs and tv show much better! When the first Fame came out was much better by far! New Fame 2009 and the move can't out match the original at no means!

  • @sutterpark Hey I'm twenty and I love the old fame by far

  • @sutterpark I wonder how the new fame did @ the box office.

  • Comment removed

  • very good video

  • I used to watch the series when I was a kid which is before I saw the film it's based on.

  • Wanna see a REALLY different version of this song? Taped 11 years ago but just now found & uploaded, It's SUSAN BOYLE singing Fame--no backup, no dancing (no room) but she really belts it out--for real!

  • This is the real fame and best.

Why they have to copy all great movies from back than and transfer them to this time.Dunno if the new movie is good or bad but I know which version I prefer for sure.Fame from the 80s!

  • it's because they have nothing to say. WHICH is why the new movie (s) is (are) alwayse lofter.THIS movie changed the way a whole generation was moving into music and ultimately into a fast changing world, getting out of the seventies and into the eighties. The new movie..what does it mean? what does it give to the audience but for a few well-danced ballets and in-tune-sung songs? forget my english anyway...

  • the original is without a doubt the better version. but i don't completely dislike the 2009 version either. I think they could have done more to live up to the original, but i enjoyed watching it :]

  • no, the new movie is definitely not better.I mean it's new, they have better technology etc but it's too soft, like High School Musical again...

  • Irene Cara is the greatest actress, dancer and songtress that ever lived!!!!!! Fame will live on forever!!!!!!!

  • Too bad Erica Gimple's version was never released on an album. It is just as good as Irene's. The difference between the two performances is just like the diffrences between the original movie and series. One is more raw combined with unbelievable performing talent, the other more polished combined with unbelievable performing talent.

  • a perfect and very clever description

  • thank you stefanoferre..

  • Movie Ralph Garcey would never dance like that!

  • *lol* I think he would

  • LOL. True.

  • ich liebe es!!!!!

bin gespannt auf den neuen kinofilm!

schade, adss da nich leroy mitspielen kann :(

  • ^^

Anybody knows how to sing the BASS VOICE for CHOIR VERSION?

  • Remember my name ;D

  • The original "Fame" is always going to be the best

  • @atreides73 Agreed.

  • @atreides73 True that

  • I agree with Kajehgb,

That was tv worth watching, although the clothes make me feel old, leg warmers wow

  • wow...this all seems like yesterday. i remember wearing leg warmers and listening to the RECORD . was it 27 years ago? no way!!

  • Debbie looks so Claire Huxtable season from The Cosby Show. Lol. I love it!

  • They are sisters in real life

  • Oh, I know that already. I just can't help but to make comparisons with their looks. LOL. It's amazing.

  • Debbie Allen's sister is actress Phylicia Rashad, who was born Phylicia Ayers-Allen before she married Ahmad Rashad, better known as "Mrs. Huxtable" from The Cosby Show.

  • one of the few examples of the spin off being better than the film. This and alien nation and a man called hawk.

  • I completely agree!

  • yes it was better I agree with you .

  • i was 15 when this was on 1982 and it was a better time, better tv,better music, best looking men, loved the show and looked forward to the songs every week. brings back nice memories.

  • amazing. i wish i were born in this time, to be able to watch them more often and more closely. i think the songs, the style, the environment are great. definitely a different generation

  • Gotta love Leroy's crocheted tank top!

  • first of all this songs name is I´m Gona Live For Ever Not Rember my name hahahahaha

  • Ich will auch auf diese Schule :'(

  • wow this made me so nostalgic... thanks for posting! good times :^)

  • Looking at this makes you yearn for the modern dance movement of the 80's. Hip hop may have a little bit more precision. But this updated version of ballet possessed so much energy and easy grace.

  • UN TAN UN TAN UN TAN MOE MOE KYUN

  • Wow, I met Debbie Allen in the '80's (1984) and Gene Anthony Ray (Leroy) in the '90's at a club. He turned it out dancing. I met Erica Gimpel (Coco) several times in the millennium. All of them are so nice, humble and dynamic.!!!

  • I wonder why none of these actors had any Fame beyond these series. Leroy and Sorosky were so great!. I remember watching this episode on a hotel hall with the rest of my colleagues from school in our End of Course trip!!! Great Memories.

  • Minus Debbie Allen. She seriously multitasked after "Fame". She is well known. Lori Singer went on to better things in the 80's after fame. Janet Jackson? No explanation needed. LOL.

  • Don't forget the Paul McCrane who play Montgomery became the infamously nasty Dr Romano in ER

  • What happened to Leroy? Did he pass on?

  • The actor did according to Wikipedia. He died in 2002 or 2003 from a stroke. But it stated he had already had HIV.

  • Yes, he did in 2003.

  • from 1982-1987 I wish I can by the series but I almost got ripped off and got certian eposides of series one.

  • jsut amazingness. its weird to see them now and see what they use to be.

  • fame...the best ...

    coco-sing and dance

    martelli-piano

    leroy-dance and sing

wherever the serie FAME is the best

  • Bull crap!

She's no Irene Cara. Irene will blow her out of the water.

  • lol. nope. thast's not irene. this is the Fame episodes. a different girl plays coco in the fame episodes. irene is in the movie

  • tisk tisk.. YOU DIDNT REMEMER HER NAME.

    Ironic?

  • *REMEMBER

  • Comment removed

  • how long did this show last?

  • She sings this so much better than Irene Cara.

  • I fully agree with you there ;-)

  • get ready people their remaking the movie of fame with new actors coming out 2010.

  • actually it's september 2009

    and it's not a remake :/

  • Can't take the place of Irene Cara

  • How to make a school like form beautiful: find your natural variating movement and choose from it the forms that are roughly the same as the goal: according to common sense here, according to the sense of atmospheres there, etc.

  • No one can do this song as good as Irene Cara though

  • bieutifel song, realy great!

  • OMG, is that Ms. Renee Robinson of Alvin Ailey Dance Theater at 1:36?? She is still DANCING her a** off, 20 years later....dayum!!!

  • me cambio, me cambio, me cambio...

  • i have my auditions tomora for this imm soooo nevis its not funny eeeeep.....

  • the name of the song is Fame not Baby remember my name

  • She is good! I love this song!

  • Thinking of dance, reaching for some outer form isn't so beautiful. One ought to express what one is and show others the form of that. It is quite different. It is one of the things that the Buddhists mean by "emptiness (= the experienced reality) is form". The first mentioned outer form is referred by "Form (alone, without it arising from the experienced reality) is emptiness (= worthless)".

  • I like this song very much, didn't know it was from Fame. I have this enermous self-confidece that is on a good ground: please visit my channel!

  • How can you not know this song was from fame?! :S It has the word FAME all the way through it!! LOL

  • Probably a sign of my age, but I really want the rainbow striped v-neck top one of the guys is wearing. Ah, the 1980's, where fashion was a far from guilty secret! :)

  • now thats a singer/dancer!

back when beauty wasnt the MAIN thing.

    she pisses all over beyonce

if i want to see somthin sexy i will watch porn.

  • this was my dance recitall song :)

  • haha, i singing this in my singing camp

  • Me too! I got it assigned yesterday and I haveto learn all the lyrics before i leave for camp this morning! mY CAMP is really intense acting, singing, and dancing for professionals. AH GOD! i can only the begiinning part so far.... OH SHOOT I HAVE 20 MINUTES! C YA!

  • lol, mayb we went to the same camp, where u from?

  • i love this song very much!

  • I cannot get this wonderful song out of my head. *lol* I like how Ms. Grant outdances Leroy.
