Make sure the Esi driver is installed(can be found at their site) To set it up correctly, use dual timecode, or single depending on what you have(drop down menu), select external mixer, and then go to soundcard,and choose the maya 44. Go to advanced and calibrate them as neccesary. Make sure to choose the type of vinyl you are using, (serato vinyl side a or b)

Yo! Having major trouble with this setup guys!! Running Mac osx 10.5.8 with VDJ pro7

Have serato timecode vinyl and MAYA 44. When adding aggregate device the only device that comes up is the maya44 as 4in4out not as 2 seperate ins and outs! i think as a result my timecode is coming out at a fluctuating quality PLEASE HELP i am going INSANE!!! What is my major problem?

I'm using Windows XP, I have my entire system set up but I have no sound?? I noticed the green lights on the Maya USB 44 only light up on the RCA's for the mixer...the rest don't glow. I have a three channel usb mixer. I can't figure out why I cant get any sound, any suggestions?

i have mac osx 10.5.8 and i installed the control panel and set that up, but when i go to the aggregate device menu it only shows built in mic, built in input and built in output.....not sure what do do at this point

@djtriple9 I tried this setup using Gemini PS-02 USB mixer connected to a HP laptop My laptop installed audio drivers on its own. I get audio signal now with Virtual DJ and plan to switch to using timecode.

@SLICKSKYPHA I think in VDJ u can just straight plug them in like the NUMARK M1 USB MIXER u can straight plug it in to ur Laptop but only in VDJ cuz u need 2 channel inputs in the software and he only program ive used that had that is VDJ, Serrato well u need the Rane Sl and Traktor is a 1 channel so u can use a sound card or a Rane SL hope this helped :)

@DJBRISK1 because I like software that doesn't require a specific piece of hardware, and I like to be able to code my own midi devices to work the way I want them for me. Serato is great software if you just want to mix and scratch. It is not good at recording sets, capturing samples for later use, coding third party midi devices for use in the software and adding effects on the fly.

Anyone know how to get the VDJ record feature to accept the IN ports of the Maya44 USB as an input for recording from my external mixer without making "white noise" and distortion.

I've had no joy making this work or getting advice so far other than pushing the mixer output to my laptop but I only have a mic in and that'll just sound all wrong.

Any advice out there appreciated.

@marktindal2186 The Maya 44 doesn't ground itself very well, hence the background noise. That is also why it makes for a poor device to timecoded vinyl on an analog turntable (technics 1200's, etc). Numark TTX's are about the only turntable I've ever been able to use with a MAya44USB. CDJ's put out a much more powerful signal (it is also a digital signal I believe), so it compensates for the background noise.

I have followed your 3 vids step by step, but no success for me... My problem is my output. Because my maya 44 doesn't show any glowing led lights on the output, but do light up on the input ones. And in the '' open aggregate device manager'' my maya 44 with 4 in and 4 out is in one box ( so not separate), does this matter? I'm using a macbook pro 2.4 ghz osx 10.5.8 with vdj 6.0.1. I hope you can help me. It's taking me over a weak already.. PS Keep up with the good work!!:D

@tjeppi @tjeppi Maya won't work on 10.5.8. after 10.5.4 the sound card crashes in VDJ. IF you want to use it, I suggest using windows in bootcamp.

Can you use normal audio cd's. swapping and changing between timecode and normal cd's. Rather than having to keep changing the leads from sound card direct to to mixer to achieve it.

Its just I have some tracks on normal cd that I would like to play now again in between.

Ok so far like I said everything working pretty well on my pc, but my laptop I dont get much joy. The cpu usage at top is running wild man. There aint nothing running on the laptop except the virtual dj. It has 512mb ram P4 2.8ghz, any ideas for me apart from maybe upgrading ram.

@browners32 definitely need more RAM. without it, VDJ can't cash the song for consistent playing. I rrcomend at least 1GB, preferebly 2. RAM is cheap in comparison to the cost of the program and music.

I have all the setup now on PC not MAC. When I am playing a track using the time code from virtual dj, there is a high pitch sound that plays in back ground. I only have when using the time cd. have I burned the cd wrong or something or is there a setting I am missing.

@browners32  sounds like you sound card input isn't muted. Go into your ASIO config and make sure the "monitor" checkboxes are unchecked.

It sounds like the timecode played out. Check the time remaining on your CDJ. If it says 0:00 then you timecode played out. Think of the timcode sugnal as a song with a set lentgh. If you keep loading music but not resetting the timecode (click replay, or hitting stop/pause twice to reset) the music will continue to play even after the timecode has played out as a failsafe. Don't reset your player while the song is going thought or it will start the song over. VDJ timecodes last for 12 minutes.

google ESI Maya44usb driver. go to ESI's web site and download the latest driver. I am assuming you are on Windows as mac natively supports the Maya. check my other vids to learn how to set that up.

I'm afraid your question i unclear to me. You can buy them from just about any online retailer. The maya can be used jsut for output to the mixer or it can be used for both timecode inputs and bypass mode in VDJ. In this setup your headphones plug into your mixer, not your laptop.

yes. you could use this for your music outputs and plug you headphones into the laptop to monitor. you'd also have to have a skin that displays a crossfader and headphone management, such as SSL Lover.
