This has irritated me soooo bad. I have tried this twice and messed up two pots and wasted cream and butter. When I do this way, (on high heat like it says) it turns into candy and sticks to the pot and no amount of heat melts it. So irritated by this. I usually put my milk and sugar in together and let it cook until it starts to bubble and brown...when it reduces, I remove it from the heat and there you have it.

That caramel sauce looks quite thin... What would I have to do if I wanted to make it thicker so I could make caramel apples?
