the "hey boy, dontcha line on the track" came from slaves building the railroad in the pioneer days or 1800's or whatever. the slaves would sing that to keep in unison when "lining" (aligning) the rails. everybody pushed on "track!" to move the rails. i found it awesome that Steven chose to use that in his lyrics. i heard him tell that story somewhere in an interview.
