rest in peace, polly s. i fell in love with her when i saw her in a punk doc,in 82...i know a bit late...its sad she,s gone....but she,s not really gone
HAHA..I totally forgot about this one.this was the 1st album I bought aged 11??...better than f*cking ABBA.!!god I loathed that.. I also like pretending to be a cliche...to get up posh arseholes noses, great fun ;)...lol..R.I.P. Poly
You have hit the nail on the head! I was into punk in the late 70s, when it was all about originality and anarchy and fun ... then the uniforms and studded biker jackets started creeping in ... and all that fucking awful Oi music ...
It's great hearing some of the old punk classics like this. I had this one, but sadly lost it many years ago. For me 1976-78 was the true era of punk. The Pistols, Damned, Clash, Buzzcocks, and of course XraySpex. But by the end of 78 I'd lost interest because punk had become something else. Something you had to buy into with the uniform and merchandise. That's never what it was about...it started out against all that crap!
The punk revolution in the UK had fuckall to do with cliched fashion (biker jackets and mohicans) - it was all about liberating rock n roll music like this utter classic by the Spex
i know if u search up the lyrics and she sais "yamma yamma yamma"
dont u think it would make more sense if it said "yammer yammer yammer" i mean look at the defenotion of yammer it comes perfectly before bored bordeom
I would agree to that, as yamma yamma etc sounds pointless and Poly always wasalways absolutely relevant and years ahead of her time. This is why so many still love her and her stuff.
Pure perfection, I still listen to my old vinyl, love the Buzzcocks too

Ditto the above comment. It was the new thing. Besides rap/hip-hop, the last revolution in Pop music. All flavors that have come since are copies.

Which was the "a" side? The sleeve here suggests that this song was, whereas
"Oh Bondage" is a better song and better known
But if this song IS the "a" side, then it's news - and a surprise - to me
