Perhaps you think that children will be lonely without them, but there are always stars, always trees, always flowers, the sun, the moon, a river, mountains, waterfalls, a field of poppies. They are all alive, we can never be alone, they are as friends.
Perhaps to those who don't socialize well with other children, but even then, the things you've mentioned, yes they may be ''alive'' : field of poppies drinking the water, absorbing the sun and moving with the wind: however that is all they do, they don't interact. They might as well be dolls, the thing that does keep them away from others is fear. Whatever ''fear'' that may be.
I used to like dolls, but then I realized they were mostly made for girls to be contend to be alone, without siblings or a mom, or real friends, like other children. Now I dont like them anymore, especially the ones, made to look real, like yours. Little girls get lulled into wanting more dolls, and forget about friends and real affection from grown ups. I know it might sound strange, but its true.
I dont worry you say I am an idiot. Tell me then, isn't it too strange that girls, collect dolls, learn to love them, when perhaps they could have found someone real to love and play with them. When they turn a certain age, their parents give all their dolls away, so they concentrate on studies. All their love contained in those dolls, gone. They learn to love something passive, something that cannot even communicate, even though it may be real beautiful, tell, me then, what you think of dolls.
@sulablu woa it's like my imagination of the introverted and creepy girls in 1920s lol.... the ones in the horror stories.. Anyways, I have a friend who loves porcelain dolls since she was a kid, and she has like 40 of them. She's not a creep, though she said she loves them like siblings lol. She attended those gatherings wit other doll lovers, but other than the doll part, she's not at all creepy, and very fun n friendly. the things you said might happen, but it's more of a stereotype, really.
