The verdict has been rendered. This dude is officially good. ; ] I've listened to a couple of other pieces so far. Enough to cause me to retract my comment about his playing being non-melodious. Still a bit too much noodling in the upper frets, but this guy is an amazing player. I'm as big a fan as you'll find when it comes to over-the-top 'shred', but it's the kind of thing that should be used sparingly -- like pepper spray; or makeup on a gal who's already gorgeous. Glad I know who he is.

Apparently the chemo drugs made him lose his hair and gain that amazing dexterity. I like his stuff, but I need to check out more. With this command of technique he should be more 'listenable'. I'm not busting his balls, but his little 'bending breaks' would be a great place to demonstrate that his soul overrides his mastery of modes, scales and sweeping. I don't hear any melodically enchanting content beyond his neo-classical arpeggios. "Crazy Tapping" is all I've yet heard other than this.
