If UFC signed Fedor, whatever PPV he showed up on would be top 5 in buys in UFC history! People love Fedor period! Class and humbleness goes along way even when you've lost. His striking is not as crisp and good as Overeem but if he hits Overeem, Alistair is going to sleep.

Overeem beating Lesnar the way he did doesn't mean much. In the Werdum fight Overeem looked bad, he gasses half way through the 2nd round. No excuses, people saying he was worried about being taken down, watch the Lesnar fight, end of story. He beat Brett Rogers, but he is no where's near JDS level of striking in mma. Just surprised so many people are riding off JDS an overrating Overeem. Don't get me wrong, Overeem's a great fighter, but not invincible.

@xkillaz18x Agreed I remember when Chuck knocked out Overeem and if you take a look at how JDS and Liddell carry their hands and how they throw their overhand right its fairly similar except JDS is bigger and has more power. Cant wait to see JDS vs Overeem.

I don't understand you, for a moment you downgrade Fedor and then give him credits...I just don't understand.

But in any case don't forget that Fedor's manager is a good guy, they are all great guys...its Dana White who ruins it all...if he is so positive that he offered the best deal ever to Fedor's management, then why he constantly avoids to mention the exact amount? - BECAUSE HE LIES, just as always.

Just look at any Dana's interview, he contradicts himself in ever other sentence.

@VEGETADTX You gotta realise Fedors management think Fedor is worth Anderson Silva money, which he is not. Fedor is more like.... Rampage Jackson money. Fedor should have signed a 3 fight contract for a little less. If he whoops ass renegotiate. But Fedors management wanted more than top dollar right away which he simply wasnt worth.

@Cenon2007 Neglecting the fame/decoration factor, if you think that Anderson Silva is more accomplished fighter than Fedor, than I can't really continue the discussion because I can't even take that seriously, no offense.

I just don't understand how many times people have to fail and take Dana White's words seriously...he was doing the same for Chuck, Brock, Machida, and he will fail the same way with Silva I believe. He doesn't say his personal opinion, he just has a good-for-business opinion.

Just compare Silva to Fedor in the eyes of the public and recent statistics.

Silva is currently on a record title defense streak. And has been finishing people consistantly and in nice fashion. Thus making him a big buy to casuals.

Fedor around time of negotiations was on his way to being finished 3 in a row. And one to a smaller fighter. Casuals will see the recent resume and turn away.

For your information, Fedor did accept the fight himself, and even called out Alistair back but Alistair suddenly went to K-1 and such opportunity was ruined at that point.

It was Fedor's management who said "yes we are for it but first we need Olympic-style drug testing".

I don't understand why are you trying soooo hard to downgrade Fedor...Fedor is the nicest person ever and never refused a single fight in his career himself.

Man I always thought Cyborg was on steroids. But like you said they could be taking banned substances and not even know it. For strikeforce they need to bring BJ Penn to fight Gilbert that would be a good fight. As for Fedor I'd love to see him fight and win in UFC. But I don't think he'll sign because of Dana and his shit management M-1 global. Fedor's next fight will be against Cro Cop or Blagoi Ivanov the guy who defeated him in Sambo.

@vaju79 I would've liked to have seen the '05-' 09Fedor competing in the UFC. Unfortunately, Fedor's current state of mind (i.e., his past announcements of retiring) would likely be his undoing in a manner not too dissimilar from Cro-Cop's tenure within the promotion.
