  • where can buy da suppiles to make da wine im new at dis plz help me

  • @highyardy Canned juice concentrate from any grocery store, Wal*Mart is probably the cheapest. Additives and other supplies you can order online from AustinHomebrew, MidwestSupplies and many other places.

  • I can't believe it! You're using a turkey baster to thief...WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT!??!?

Keep the vids coming; this one's great!

  • @EnchantedAlana Thanks! And yeah, it works :)

  • Welches white juice is made out of Niagra, and Diamond grapes. I am making several gallons. Similar to the same process you are using here. The biggest mistake people make, during home brewing is lack of cleanliness. Bacteria, or natural yeast contaminates the brew. You're process looks very good in sanitation!

  • @onemouse1 Thanks for checking out my video, I actually have a Welch's white wine I just started 4 days ago. I'm really hoping the white turns out better since I will be shutting down fermentation earlier to leave a little sweet in it, and used a different yeast. :)

  • I use Lalvin 71B. It finishes at 15% Alcohol & I add enough sugar for a Alcohol content of 16.5 % so it finishes semi sweet. I just racked a 3 Gal carboy of Welchs White Grape & Cherry & had a little taste. Its gonna be a good one.

  • @captianusa Sounds good. I wanted to try the champagne yeast, but it might not have been a good choice for making cheap Welch's wine. May try the Welch's thing again in the future but with a different yeast.

Tonight I am uploading Part 2 of this.. Can't guarantee it'll be good, or even watchable, but it'll definitely be Part 2! Thanks for commenting. :)

  • @tim78704

I decided to try & make a spicy hard Apple juice. Gonna use Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg, Ginger & brown sugar. Gonna use Safale-US05 Ale yeast. Should be ready to drink in 4 weeks.

  • @captianusa Sounds very cool. This reminds me that I wanted to try an "Apple Pie" beer soon by adding in some allspice, cinnamon and vanilla sometime soon. You should video your process and upload it so we can check it out. Let me know if you do! :)

  • Where is part 2?

  • Is the wine a sweet wine or Dry? How long do you let the wine rest in the bottle?6mo. to a year?

  • @ROGERSECKLER The wine is very dry. I used champagne yeast (which can tolerate up to 18% ABV), so they ate every molecule of anything that even resembled sugar.. I probably should have used a different yeast if I had to be honest..

The initial taste was really mediocre (this is Welch's concord grape juice after all), but I plan to let the bottles sit for 1, 2 and 3 years to see if it improves any with age. :)

  • Where is part 2?

  • @abbeyglencircle I hear ya. Part two is going to include the bottling, which I will be doing this coming weekend. The wine will be 2½ months old, and it's looking pretty clear now, so it's time I think.

Part 2 should be posted a week or so from now. Check back! :)

  • @tim78704 OK, I am looking forward to see your second production. I really enjoy your videos, very educational. Hope your wine turn-out well.

  • @abbeyglencircle Thanks, I appreciate you watching. And beer videos are in the can and awaiting editing and posting soon too (if you're interested in that stuff) :)

  • If you are using One Step why do you keep rinsing it off?I am assuming there is nothing nasty in you tap water.

  • @llamabox I was wondering the same thing?

  • @llamabox @bmeyer44 I know it's "no rinse", but I don't really want to drink any sanitizer if I can help it. I got no infection, so there must be enough chlorine in the tap to keep anything from living in our city water. :)

  • Hey! I think thats the guys who's been spamming me!

  • @RCSuperPowers You loved that Soviet Russia comment :)

  • Were you concerned at all about not getting enough oxygen in the primary fermenter, especially when you capped it? Also, once transferred to the secondary fermenter, were you concerned about the space between the cap and the wine level?

  • @johnnyping Pouring the juice concentrate in through the funnel caused enough splashing to aerate the must pretty good, so I didn't think a bucket was necessary for primary fementation. The space on top after racking did bother me a little though, but it was still fermenting, so that space for filled with CO2 soon after racking. I recently saw someone else on YouTube use glass marbles to displace the wine and fill the gap, so I will try that in the future. Thanks for watching! :)

  • @tim78704 Was it TintoTV? I watched those two this weekend, they were great. I was sorry they stopped making videos. Anyway, glad to see you making the wine! I'm still in the research phase, which is how I came across your video, but I plan on buying equipment soon to start my foray into winemaking.

    Cheers!

  • @johnnyping Yeah, that was it. I watched all their videos a while back. The glass marbles to fill the space left over in a jug was a great idea. :)

  • @johnnyping Also, the racking cane was way too big. So I recently bought a much smaller racking cane made for small 1 gallon batches from Midwest Supplies, so I will hopefully leave less wine behind when racking future batches.

  • @tim78704 Good to hear! I look forward to seeing it

  • love your t-shirt :)
